MANUAL LOCKING (EMERGENCY MODE)
A u t o m a t i c c e n t r a l l o c k i n g o f t h e
doors
The doors and boot can lock automati-
cally while driving (speed above 6 mph
[10 km/h]).
You can activate or deactivate this
function by pressing and holding the
button.
BOOT
To open the boot, press the push but-
ton and raise the tailgate.
Tailgate release
This enables the tailgate to be un-
locked in the event of a central locking
fault.
- Fold back the rear seats to gain access to the lock from inside the
boot,
- Insert a small screwdriver into hole
A of the lock to unlock the tailgate.
Note: driving with the doors
locked may make access to the
passenger compartment by the
e m e r g e n c y s e r v i c e s m o r e d i f fi -
cult in an emergency.
If the permanent locking of the
boot is activated, opening is
only possible by pressing the
remote control button.
Passenger door
To lock, insert the key in the control
located on the edge of the door then
push to the left.
Driver’s door
Insert the key in the lock to lock or un-
lock the door.

With the ignition on, operate the relevant switch. Deactivation
The courtesy lights can be deactivat-
ed by pressing switch
1 for more than
three seconds. Pressing switch 1 or
3 b r i e fl y s w i t c h e s t h e c o r r e s p o n d i n g
courtesy light on and off.
The map reading lights are not affected
by this and can still be switched on.
Activation
To re-activate the automatic lighting,
press switch 1 again.
S i l l i l l u m i n a t i o n
The sill lighting is at the bottom of each
door trim.
The lights come on automatically
when a door is opened and switch off
automatically when all of the doors are
closed.
Boot light
The boot light is located in the right-
hand boot trim.
It comes on automatically when the
boot is opened and switches off auto-
matically when the boot is closed.
Pressing switch 1 or 3 switches on the
corresponding courtesy light for ten
minutes.
The front and rear courtesy lights come
on automatically when the ignition key
is removed, on unlocking the vehicle
or on opening one of the doors.
They gradually go off after the ignition
has been switched on or the vehicle
is locked.

Park the vehicle on level, stable
and non-slippery ground.
Apply the handbrake, switch off the
i g n i t i o n a n d e n g a g e fi r s t o r r e v e r s e
gear (position P for the automatic
gearbox).
Weight of the spare wheel: approxi-
mately 20 kg. Never go underneath a vehicle
which is supported only by a
jack.

Access to the spare wheel and the
jack in the boot

Recommendations when using the
temporary spare wheel *
Your vehicle may be equipped with a
spare wheel with a different rim from
the standard wheel.
After use, be sure to replace it as soon
as possible.
Observe the following advice to avoid
altering the handling of the vehicle:
-
do not drive above 50 mph (80 km/h), - d o n o t fi t a w h e e l t r i m ,
- drive carefully,
- c h e c k t h e i n fl a t i o n p r e s s u r e i n d i -cated on the label.

After changing the wheel:
- have the tightening of the bolts and the tyre pressure of the spare wheel
checked as soon as possible.
-
have the punctured wheel repaired and
r e fi t i t t o t h e v e h i c l e a s s o o n a s p o s s i b l e .
- have the spare wheel checked and replace it in its boot recess.
Fitting a wheel
Position the wheel.
Tighten the bolts by hand.
Partly tighten the bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 .
Fold the jack 2 and remove it.
Fully tighten the bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 .

Put the tool holder back in position.

its correct position, to prevent any
d e f o r m a t i o n o f t h e fl o o r w h e n l o a d e d .
Tighten the spare wheel securing
strap to prevent noise and for your
safety in the event of impact.
Reminder: for your safety, always
change a wheel:
- on level, stable, non-slippery ground,
- with the handbrake applied,
- w i t h fi r s t o r r e v e r s e g e a r e n g a g e d (position P for the automatic gear-
box),
- never go underneath a vehicle which is supported only by a jack.
Tools available
The following tools are located in
the holder in the centre of the spare
wheel:
1. Wheelbrace. Permits removal of
the wheel trim and removal of the
wheel securing bolts.
2. Jack with integrated handle.
Permits raising of the vehicle.
3. Removable towing eye. See corre-
sponding section.
4. Bolt cover tool. Permits removal of
the bolt protectors (covers) on al-
loy wheels. Removal
For vehicles with alloy wheels, re-
move the covers using tool 4 .
Loosen the wheel bolts.
Place the jack 2 in one of the four
locations underneath the vehicle
(the nearest one to the wheel to be
changed).
Extend the jack 2 until its base is in
contact with the ground.
Unscrew the bolts and remove the
wheel.

CHANGING A REAR BULB
1. Direction indicators: W 16 W.
2. Fog lamps: P21 W.
3. Reversing lights: P21 W.
4. Brake lights/side lights: P21/5 W.
Fold down the panel to gain access
to the light.
U n s c r e w t h e 2 l i g h t fi x i n g n u t s i n s i d e
the boot.
Disconnect the connector.
Pull the light towards the outside.
Unscrew the bulb holder sleeve a
quarter of a turn.
Unscrew the faulty bulb and
change it.
Screw in the bulb holder sleeve a
quarter of a turn.
Put the light back in place from the
outside.
Reconnect the connector.

sure that the light is positioned and
fi x e d c o r r e c t l y .
Number plate lights: W 5 W.
Remove the transparent cover us-
ing a screwdriver.
Change the faulty bulb.
Third brake light: diodes.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer for replacement.

CHANGING A FUSE
The fuse boxes are placed in the glove
box (passenger side), in the engine
compartment (left-hand side) and in
the left boot trim.
Fascia fuses
To access the fuses, open the glove
box and tilt the fuse box lid.
Replacing a fuse
Before replacing a fuse, the cause of
the incident must be found and recti-
fi e d . T h e f u s e n u m b e r s a r e i n d i c a t e d
on the fuse box. Always replace a faulty fuse
with a fuse of the same rating
(same colour). Use the special pliers located on the
support next to the fuse box, this sup-
port also contains the replacement
fuses.

Before disconnecting the battery,
you must wait for 2 minutes after
switching off the ignition.
Never disconnect a terminal
when the engine is running.
N e v e r c h a r g e a b a t t e r y w i t h o u t fi r s t
disconnecting the terminals.
Open the windows and close the
sunroof before disconnecting the bat-
tery. If they do not operate normally
following reconnection of the battery,
they must be reinitialised (see para-
graphs "Reinitialisation of the electric
windows" and "Sunroof").
After every reconnection of the battery,
switch on the ignition and wait 1 minute
before starting to allow the electronic
systems to be initialised. However,
i f s l i g h t d i f fi c u l t i e s a r e e x p e r i e n c e d
after this, please contact a PEUGEOT
dealer.
On the 2.7 litre 24V HDI engine, if
there is no battery in the boot, do
not connect a slave battery to the
positive (+) and negative (-) termi-
nals under the bonnet as a short
circuit may occur.
The batteries contain harmful
substances such as sulphuric
acid and lead.
They must be disposed of in accordance
with regulations and must never be dis-
carded with household waste.
Take used batteries to an approved
collection point.
open the bonnet,
use the two additional positive (+)
and negative (-) terminals located
under the bonnet,
open the red cover of the positive
(+) terminal,
connect the red cable between the
positive (+) terminal and the positive
(+) terminal of the slave battery,
connect the green or black cable
between the negative (-) terminal
and the negative (-) terminal of the
slave battery,
operate the starter, let the engine
run,
wait for the engine to return to idle,
then disconnect the cables,
close the red cover of the positive
(+) terminal,

The battery is in the left boot trim.
To charge the battery using a bat-
tery charger (boot open):
fold down the panel to gain access
to the battery,
disconnect the battery,
follow the instructions for use given
by the battery charger manufacturer,
reconnect starting with the nega-
tive (-) terminal,
raise the panel and close it.
To start the vehicle from another
battery:
