Sunroof
This roof improves the ventilation and
light in the passenger compartment.
Visual and audible front parking
assistance
This equipment warns you if an obsta-
cle is detected in front of the vehicle in
forward gear. Visual and audible rear parking
assistance
This equipment warns you if an obsta-
cle is detected behind the vehicle when
reversing.
T y r e u n d e r - i n fl a t i o n d e t e c t i o n
This equipment checks the pressure of
the tyres while driving and warns you if
a malfunction occurs.

Boot Sunroof

1. Opening of the sunroof.
2. Closing of the sunroof.
Doors
To facilitate opening of the door,
the window lowers automatically
by a few centimetres.
It rises and adjusts automatically
when the door is closed to guarantee per-
fect sealing.
After unlocking the vehicle, pull the
door handle. To open the boot, press the button and
raise the tailgate.

REMOTE CONTROL KEY
The remote control in the key locks,
deadlocks and unlocks the doors and
boot at a distance and folds and un-
folds the exterior mirrors.
The key permits mechanical and in-
dependent operation of the glove box
lock, of the passenger air bag disarm-
ing control and of the boot access from
the rear seat locks as well as switch-
ing on of the ignition.
From the driver's door, the key permits
electrical control of the locking or un-
locking of the doors and boot.
If one of the doors or the boot is open,
the central locking does not function.
Unfolding/Folding the key
To unfold or fold the key, press button
A fi r s t .
Deadlocking
This renders the external and internal
door controls inoperative.
It also deactivates the internal central
locking button.
Normal locking
This renders the external door controls
inoperative.
It also deactivates the internal central
locking button.
Press button B for complete lock-
ing of the vehicle.
Press button B for more than
2 seconds for automatic closing
of the windows and tilting of the
sunroof, if it is open, in addition to
locking.

approximately two seconds.
The exterior mirrors fold at the same
time. Using the key
Turn the key in the door lock to
lock the vehicle.

again to deadlock the vehicle.

ing of the the direction indicators for
approximately two seconds.
When the windows are closed
automatically using the remote
control, ensure that no one is
preventing them from closing
correctly. Using the remote control
Pressing button B permits com-
plete locking of the vehicle or
pressing button B for more than
2 seconds permits automatic clos-
ing of the windows and tilting of the
sunroof, if it is open, in addition to
locking.

press permits deadlocking of the
vehicle.

SUNROOF
To tilt the roof: press and hold part A
of the switch.
To open the roof in sliding mode: tilt
the sunroof, then press part A of the
s w i t c h b r i e fl y .
To close it in sliding mode: press
part B o f t h e s w i t c h b r i e fl y .
To close it in tilt mode: press and
hold part B of the switch.
S a f e t y a u t o - r e v e r s e
When the sunroof is sliding closed and
meets an obstacle, it stops then par-
tially opens again. Pressing the locking button
on the remote control key for
more than 2 seconds closes
the sunroof in sliding mode.
The sunroof remains tilted.
To close the sunroof completely, press
and hold part B of the switch before
getting out of the vehicle.
Always remove the key from
the ignition when leaving the
vehicle, even for a short time.
Always ensure that the sun-
roof is closed correctly before leaving
the vehicle.
In the event of contact during closing in
tilt mode, you must reverse the move-
ment of the roof. To do this, press the
switch concerned.
When the driver closes the roof in tilt
mode, he must ensure that no one is
preventing correct closing of the roof.
The driver must ensure that the pas-
sengers use the sunroof correctly.
Be aware of children when operating
the roof.
Notes:
In the event of unwanted opening of
the roof on closing (for example, in the
presence of ice), press and hold part
B of the switch, w i t h i n t h e t w o s e c -
onds which follow the triggering of the
safety auto-reverse, until the sunroof
closes completely.
Following reconnection of the bat-
tery or in the event of a malfunction,
press and hold part B of the switch,
the sunroof slides "step by step" until
it closes. Continue to press the switch
for approximately one second after
closing.

The sunroof shutter is manual.
To open it, slide it rearwards using the
handle.
To close it, slide it forwards using the
handle.

Steering column air bag *
- Do not sit with your knees any nearer to the steering wheel than
necessary.
Front air bags
- Do not drive holding the steering
wheel by its spokes or resting your
hands on the centre part of the
wheel.
- Passengers must not place their feet on the fascia.
- Smoke as little as possible; de- ployment of the air bags can cause
burns or the risk of injury from a
cigarette or pipe.
- Never remove or pierce the steer- ing wheel or hit it violently.

Front side air bags
- Only put approved covers on the
seats. These will not hamper the
deployment of the side air bags.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
- D o n o t fi x o r g l u e a n y t h i n g t o t h e seat backs. This could cause injury
to the chest or arms when the side
a i r b a g i n fl a t e s .
- Do not sit with the upper part of the body any nearer to the door than
necessary. Curtain air bags
- D o n o t fi x o r g l u e a n y t h i n g t o t h e
pillars or the roof. This could cause
injury to the head when the curtain
a i r b a g i n fl a t e s .
- Do not remove the grab handles in- stalled on the roof, they play a part
in securing the curtain air bags.
For the air bags to be fully ef-
fective, observe the following
safety rules:
- Wear a correctly adjusted seat belt.
- Sit in a normal upright position.
- Do not leave anything between the occupants and the air bags
(a child, pet, object...). This could
hamper the operation of the air
bags or injure the occupants.
- After an accident or if the ve- hicle has been stolen or broken
into, have the air bag systems
checked.
- All work on the air bag system is strictly forbidden unless it is car-
r i e d o u t b y q u a l i fi e d p e r s o n n e l o f
the PEUGEOT network.
- Even if all of the precautions men- tioned are observed, a risk of in-
jury or of slight burns to the head,
chest or arms, when an air bag is
deployed, cannot be ruled out. The
b a g i n fl a t e s a l m o s t i n s t a n t l y ( w i t h i n
a f e w m i l l i s e c o n d s ) t h e n d e fl a t e s
within the same time discharging
the hot gas via openings provided
for this purpose.

Before disconnecting the battery,
you must wait for 2 minutes after
switching off the ignition.
Never disconnect a terminal
when the engine is running.
N e v e r c h a r g e a b a t t e r y w i t h o u t fi r s t
disconnecting the terminals.
Open the windows and close the
sunroof before disconnecting the bat-
tery. If they do not operate normally
following reconnection of the battery,
they must be reinitialised (see para-
graphs "Reinitialisation of the electric
windows" and "Sunroof").
After every reconnection of the battery,
switch on the ignition and wait 1 minute
before starting to allow the electronic
systems to be initialised. However,
i f s l i g h t d i f fi c u l t i e s a r e e x p e r i e n c e d
after this, please contact a PEUGEOT
dealer.
On the 2.7 litre 24V HDI engine, if
there is no battery in the boot, do
not connect a slave battery to the
positive (+) and negative (-) termi-
nals under the bonnet as a short
circuit may occur.
The batteries contain harmful
substances such as sulphuric
acid and lead.
They must be disposed of in accordance
with regulations and must never be dis-
carded with household waste.
Take used batteries to an approved
collection point.
open the bonnet,
use the two additional positive (+)
and negative (-) terminals located
under the bonnet,
open the red cover of the positive
(+) terminal,
connect the red cable between the
positive (+) terminal and the positive
(+) terminal of the slave battery,
connect the green or black cable
between the negative (-) terminal
and the negative (-) terminal of the
slave battery,
operate the starter, let the engine
run,
wait for the engine to return to idle,
then disconnect the cables,
close the red cover of the positive
(+) terminal,

The battery is in the left boot trim.
To charge the battery using a bat-
tery charger (boot open):
fold down the panel to gain access
to the battery,
disconnect the battery,
follow the instructions for use given
by the battery charger manufacturer,
reconnect starting with the nega-
tive (-) terminal,
raise the panel and close it.
To start the vehicle from another
battery:
