W h e n a " r e a r w a r d s - f a c i n g "
c h i l d s e a t i s i n s t a l l e d o n t h e
front passenger seat , it is
e s s e n t i a l t h a t t h e p a s s e n g e r
a i r b a g i s d e a c t i v a t e d . O t h e r w i s e , the
child would risk being seriously in-
jured or killed if the airbag were to
i n fl a t e .
- i n a c c o r d a n c e w i t h E u r o p e a n r e g -
ulations, all children under the
age of 12 or less than one and
a half metres tall must travel in
approved child seats suited to
their weight , o n s e a t s fi t t e d w i t h a
s e a t b e l t o r I S O F I X m o u n t i n g s * ,
- statistically, the safest seats in
your vehicle for carrying chil-
dren are the rear seats,
- a child weighing less than 9 kg
must travel in the "rearwards-
facing" position both in the front
and in the rear.
