System which protects and provides a deterrentagainst theft and break-ins. It provides the
following types of monitoring:
Alarm
- Exterior perimeter
The system checks for opening of the vehicle.
The alarm is triggered if anyone tries to open a
door, the boot or the bonnet...
- Interior volumetric
The system checks for any variation in the
volume in the passenger compartment.
The alarm is triggered if anyone breaks a
window, enters the passenger compar tment or moves inside the vehicle.
- Tilt
The system checks for any change in
the attitude of the vehicle.
The alarm is triggered if the vehicle is lifted,
moved or knocked.
Self-protection function
The system checks for the putting out of ser vice of its components. The alarm is triggered if the battery, the central control unit or the wires of the siren are put out of ser vice or damaged.
For all work on the alarm system, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.

of the windows, you must reverse themovement of the window. The driver must ensure that thepassengers use the electric windowscorrectly.Be aware of children when operating the windows.
Followin

Driving
Stop & Start
The Stop & Star t system puts the engine temporarily into standby - STOP mode - during stops in the traffic (red lights, traffic jams, or other...). The engine restarts automatically - START mode - as soon as you want to move off. The restart takes place instantly, quickly and silently.
Per fect for urban use, the Stop & Star t system reduces fuel consumption and exhaust emissions as well as the noise level when stationary.
Operation
Going into engine STOP mode
The "ECO"
warning lamp comes
on in the instrument panel and theengine goes into standby:
-
with the electronic gearbox system, at speeds below 4 mph (6 km/h), press the
brake pedal or put the gear lever inposition N .
I
f your vehicle is fitted with the system, a timecounter calculates the sum of the periods in
STOP mode during a journey. It rests itself to
zero every time the ignition is switched on with
the ke
y.
Never refuel with the engine in STOPmode; you must switch off the ignition with the key.
For your comfort, during parking maoeuvres, STOP mode is not available for a few seconds after coming out of reverse gear. STOP mode does not affect the functionality of the vehicle, such as for example, braking, power steering...
Special cases: STOP mode notavailable
STOP mode is not invoked when:
- the driver's door is open,
- the driver's seat belt is not fastened,
- the vehicle has not exceeded 6 mph (10 km/h) since the last engine star t using
the key,
- the electric parking brake is applied or
being applied,
- the engine is needed to maintain acomfor table temperature in the passenger compartment,
- demisting is active,
- some special conditions (battery charge, engine temperature, braking assistance,
ambient temperature...) where the engine isneeded to assure control of a system.
In this case, the
"ECO"warning
lamp flashes for a few seconds then
goes off.
This operation is perfectly normal.

Driving
The system is reactivated automatically at every new star t using the key.
Reactivation
Press the "ECO OFF"switch again.
The s
ystem is active again; this is confirmed
by the switch warning lamp going off and a message in the screen.
Operating fault
In the event of a fault with the system, the
"ECO OFF"
switch warning lamp flashes thencomes on continuously.
Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or aqualified workshop.
In the event of a fault in STOP mode, the
vehicle ma
y stall. It is then necessary to switch
off the ignition and star t the engine again using
the key.
Before doing anything under the bonnet, deactivate the Stop & Start system toavoid any risk of injury resulting fromautomatic operation of STA R T m o d e .
This system requires a 12 V battery with a
special specification and technology (reference
numbers available from PEUGEOT dealers).
Fitting a battery not listed byPEUGEOT introduces the risk of malfunction of
the system.
To c h a rge the battery, use a 12 V charger andobser ve the polarity.
Maintenance
The Stop & Star t system makes use of advanced technology. For any work onthe system go to a qualified workshopwith the skills and equipment required, which a PEUGEOT dealer is able toprovide.

Practical information
The batteries contain harmful substances such as sulphuric acid and lead. They must be disposed of inaccordance with regulations and must not, in any circumstances, be discarded with household waste. Ta k e used remote control batteries andvehicle batteries to a special collectionpoint.
Do not reverse the polarity and use only a 12 V charger.
Do not disconnect the terminals whilethe engine is running.
Do not charge the batteries without disconnecting the terminals first. Do not push the vehicle to star t the engine if it is fitted with the 6 -speed electronic gearbox system or an automatic gearbox.
It is advisable to disconnect the battery if the vehicle is to be left unused for more than one month.
Before disconnecting the battery
Wait 2 minutes after switching off the ignitionbefore disconnecting the battery.
Close the windows and the doors beforedisconnecting the battery.
Following reconnection of thebattery
Following reconnection of the battery, switch on
the ignition and wait 1 minute before star ting to
permit initialisation of the electronic systems. However, if problems remain following this
operation, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a
qualified workshop.
Referring to the corresponding section, you must yourself reinitialise:
- the remote control key,
- the panoramic sunroof blind,
- the GPS satellite navigation system.
Load reduction mode
System which manages the use of cer tain
functions according to the level of charge
remaining in the battery.
When the vehicle is bein
g driven, the load
reduction function temporarily deactivates certain functions, such as the air conditioning,
the heated rear screen...
The deactivated functions are reactivated
automatically as soon as conditions permit.
