Engine diagnostics warning light This is linked to the warning light on the instrument panel.Display of this warning light is accompanied by an audible signal and the message
'Engine emission control
system fault' on the multi-function display.
If it flashes when the engine is running, this indicates a malfunction in the injection, ignition or emission control system.
There is a risk of damage to the catalytic converter.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon as possible.
Bulb blown warning lightDisplay of this indicator light is accompanied by an audible signal and the message 'Bulb...faulty'on the
multi-function display, indicating the faulty bulb: a bulb in the dipped beam lights, the side lights, the direction indicator lights (except side repeaters) or the brake lights (except the central brake light).
Change the faulty bulb.
Windscreen/headlamp wash reservoir warning light Display of this warning light is accompanied by an audible signal and the message 'Screenwash low' on the
multi-function display. Fill the windscreen/headlamp wash reservoir the next time you stop. Particulate emission filter saturation warning light (diesel engine) Display of this warning light is accompanied by an audible signal.When it occurs with the engine running, this indicates the start of saturation of the particulate emission filter (excep- tionally long periods of town type driving conditions: reduced speed, long tailbacks...).
To regenerate the filter, you are advised to drive as soon as possible and when traffic conditions permit at a speed of 35 mph(60 km/h) or more for at least five minutes (until the warning light goes out).
If the light remains on, contact a PEUGEOT dealer.Note: After prolonged operation of the vehicle at a very low speed or at idle, you may sometimes notice steam coming from
the exhaust during acceleration. This has no effect on the performance of the vehicle or on the environment.

List of status indicator lights SPORT suspension indicator light Display of this indicator light is accompanied by an audible signal. The indicator light comes on when the SPORTfunction is switched on.
Dynamic stability control (ESP/ASR) system disarming indicator lightDisplay of this indicator light when the system is disarmed is accompanied by an audible signal and the message
'ASR/ESP systems de-activated' on the multi-function display.
Dynamic stability control (ESP) system operation indicator light This comes on when the system starts to function. Diesel engine pre-heat indicator light
If the temperature is high enough, the indicator light does not come on and you can start the engine immediately.
If the indicator light does come on, wait for it to go out before operating the starter.
Air bag disarming indicator light* Display of this light is accompanied by an audible signal and the message 'Passenger air bag deactivated' on the
multi-function display.If the passenger air bag is disarmed, the indicator light comes on when the ignition is switched on (2nd notch).
In all cases, if the indicator light flashes, contact a PEUGEOT dealer. *According to country

Coolant temperature indicator When the needle is in zone A, the
temperature is correct.When the needle is in zone B, the
temperature is too high.In cases where the coolant tempe- rature warning light comes on (lin-
ked to the STOP warning light), you
must stop immediately.
Warning: wait for the engine to cool
down.
If necessary, top up the level.Because the cooling system is pres- surised, to prevent the risk of scal-ding, turn the cap two turns to allowthe pressure to drop. When the pressure has dropped, remove the cap and top up the level.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Engine oil level and temperature When the ignition is switched on, this gauge indicates the engine oil levelfor approximately 20 seconds, then itindicates the engine oil temperature. Engine oil level The reading is valid only if the vehicle is on level ground, and the
engine has been switched off for 10minutes. With the ignition on, wait for the gra- duated sector to light up and the indi-cator needle to move. When the needle is in zone C, the oil
level is correct.When the needle is in zone D, the oil
level is incorrect.There is a risk of damage to the engine.
Check the level with the dipstick.
You must top up the level withoutexceeding the maximum level onthe gauge.
Engine oil temperature When the needle is in zone E, the
temperature is correct.When the needle is in zone F, the
temperature is too high.Reduce your speed to lower the temperature.
Service indicator and total distance recorder When the ignition is switched on, this indicates servicing information for afew seconds, then the total and tripdistances. Service functionSee the 'Service indicator' section.
Total distance recorder function The total distance is displayed on the left side of the screen and the tripdistance on the right side.

With the ignition on, press the button
until the zeros appear.

Manual operation With the headlamps on, press button B to increase the brightness of the
instrument panel lighting or button A
to reduce it. As soon as the lighting reaches the required level of brightness, releasethe button. Illuminationbuttons
Automatic operation The degree of illumination of the instrument panel automaticallyadapts to the external brightness. By day , the setting cannot be
altered.At night, the brightness can be
increased by means of button B.
A PEUGEOT dealer is able to cancel automatic operation if you prefermanual operation.
Service indicator zero re-set
Your PEUGEOT dealer carries out this operation after each service.
However, if you carry out the service yourself, the re-set procedure is asfollows: Switch off the ignition,
Press and hold the trip recorderre-set button,
Switch on the ignition.
The display begins a countdown. When the display shows 0, release the button; the service symbol disap-pears. Important: after this operation, if you
wish to disconnect the battery, lock the vehicle and wait for at least fiveminutes, otherwise the zero re-setwill not be registered.

5 seconds after the ignition is swit- ched on, the total distance recorderresumes normal operation and thedisplay shows the total or trip dis-tances. The distance remaining before the next service is less than 500 miles(1,000 km). Example:
400 miles (900 km) remain
before the next service is due. When switching on the ignition and for 5 seconds, the display shows: 5 seconds after the ignition is swit- ched on, the total distance recorderresumes normal operation and thesymbol remains lit. This indicates that a service should
be carried out shortly. The displayshows the total or trip distances.SERVICE INDICATOR This is a visual reminder of when the
next service is due. This service is tobe carried out according to themanufacturer's servicing schedule. Operation As soon as the ignition is switched on and for 5 seconds, the spannersymbolising ''service operation'' is lit.The trip recorder display shows thedistance remaining (in round figures)before the next service. Example: 4,800 miles/km remain
before the next service is due. When the ignition comes on and for 5 seconds the display indicates: The service is overdue. Each time the ignition is switched on and for 5 seconds, the symbol andthe excess distance flash. Example:
the service is overdue by
300 miles/km. The service should be
carried out very shortly. When the ignition is switched on and for 5 seconds, the display shows: 5 seconds after the ignition is swit- ched on, the total distance recorderresumes normal operation and the
symbol remains lit. The displayshows the total or trip distances. Note: the service spanner lights if
the two-year interval has been
exceeded (see "PEUGEOT Servi-cing" section).

GENERAL FUNCTIONSOn/off With the ignition key in the accessories position (1st notch) or with the ignition on (2nd notch), press button Ato switch the set on or off.
The set can operate for 30 minutes without the vehicle ignition being switched on.
Anti-theft system The audio system is coded in such a way that it can operate only on your vehicle. It would not function if fitted to another vehicle. This system is automatic and requires no action on your part. ADJUSTING THE VOLUME Turn button Ato increase or decrease the volume.
Note: the automatic volume correction function "CAV", which depends on the speed of the vehicle, is acces-
sible using the audio menu on the multi-function display.
AUDIO SETTINGS Press the 'AUDIO'button several times in succession to access the bass (BASS), treble (TREB), loudness
(LOUD) , fader(FAD), balance (BAL)and automatic volume correction (CAV).
Exit from audio mode is automatic after a few seconds without pressing any button, or by pressing the 'AUDIO'
button following configuration of the automatic volume correction.
Note: bass and treble settings are specific to each source. It is possible to set them differently for radio, cassette (RM2 audio) or CD changer.

TELEPHONE: Audio/Telephone RT2 This function is a GSM 900 MHZ telephone incorporated in the audio system. It possesses a'hands free'function, provided by a microphone located in the front courtesy light and a steering column
remote control which allows access to most of the functions.It also possesses a 'confidential'function, provided by the instrument panel located in the upper casing of the centre front
armrest. Note: An echo may be heard for a few seconds at the beginning of the call.
The principal 'mobile'type functions are shown on the display incorporated in the audio system; the menu lists can be referr-
red to on the multi-function display.This function is active when the ignition key is in the accessories position (1st notch), the ignition is switched on (2nd
notch), the engine is running or the vehicle is being driven.Note: when the ignition key is in the accessories position (1st notch) or the ignition is switched on (2nd notch), this function
will be interrupted after thirty minutes, when the message 'Economy mode active' appears on the multi-function display. If
you are using the telephone at that time, you will be able to finish your call.
General information about the display (Audio/Telephone RT2 display) In telephone mode, the display shows the following information, where applicable.
1.Network signal indicator (3 levels).
2. Service not available indicator.
3. Indicates a communication in progress.
4. Indicator showing connection to an outside network.
5. Indicates:
- when continuously lit: presence of an unread message or messages. - when flashing: the message system is full.
6 . Display zone (10 symbols x 2 lines).

Selecting telephone mode / Entering a number / Switching off the microphoneTo change to telephone mode, press the 'TEL'button or for more than 2 seconds on the steering column
remote control. Insert your bank card format SIM card fully into the slot at the front (use the 2nd generation SIM card only).
Note: the SIM card must not be taken out while the audio/telephone system is still in use. If you forget this, an audible signal
will sound for a few seconds after the ignition is switched off.
Enter your PIN number and confirm with the 'OK' button in order to access the network. The welcome screen is
displayed.Note: the PIN code is erased each time the ignition is switched off, but the ''PIN code protection'' function may be
cancelled.
Enter the number of the person you wish to speak to on the digital keypad and press the 'OK' button to make the call.
To switch off the microphone mid-communication, press the 'TEL' button.
Cancelling the PIN code request
To cancel the PIN code request, select 'PIN code protection' in the 'Telephone parameters' menu and confirm; select 'OFF' and confirm, then input your PIN code and confirm. Receiving / Ending a call When a ringing sounds to let you know that a call is waiting, you can choose either to accept it by pressing the 'OK' button or not to accept it by pressing button Por by selecting 'Refuse call'using the steering
column remote control, pressing the end to confirm. If you do not accept it, the call is diverted to your voice mail (if this service is available and active).
To end the call, press button Por the end of the steering wheel remote control.
Note: Not accepting or ending a call by means of the steering wheel control returns the system to radio mode.
Receiving two incoming calls
During a call, when there is another incoming call, you are informed of this by a ring and a message. You may choose:
- to accept the call by pressing button 2then "OK" ; the first caller is put on hold and you are in contact with the second.
However, pressing button 2again allows you to return to the first caller,
- to finish the call you are on and talk to the second caller by pressing button 1then "OK" ,
- not to accept the new call by pressing button "C".

When the telephone has been matched, it appears on the list"Select a Bluetooth telephone".
Note: to delete a match, select
"Delete a pairing" from the
"Hands-free operation" menu.

Matching the Bluetooth telephone with the hands-free kit When a telephone is used with the hands-free kit for the first time, youmust match your telephone and thehands-free kit.
You can match up to 3 telephones with the hands-free kit. Note: this operation can only be car-
ried out with the engine off, key in the ignition or accessories position andwith no telephone connected to thehands-free kit. - activate the Bluetooth function on your telephone,
- carry out a search for Bluetooth accessories present from your telephone,
- select the accessory which appears with the name of yourvehicle. A superimposed confirmation display appears on the screen.
- accept the match by selecting the
"YES" tab using the ring and by
confirming by pressing the end of the steering wheel control,
- enter the authentication code "1234" on the telephone.
When this procedure has been com-pleted, a superimposed displayinforms you of the success or failureof the matching operation.

Switching between two calls During a call, press the end of the steering wheel control to display thecontrol tabs:- when it is selected andthen confirmed bypressing the end of thesteering wheel control,this tab button enablesyou to switch from onecorrespondent to the
other,
- this tab enables you to hang up the currentcall and resume thecall with the other cor-respondent.Second call* This function enables you to receive a second call during a communica-tion.
You are informed by a bleep and the message "Pick up the call?"
appears.
You can choose:
- to take the call by confirming the "YES" tab by pressing the end of
the steering wheel control,
- not to tale the call by selecting the "NO" tab using the ring and confir-
ming by pressing the end of the steering wheel control.
Note: if you do not confirm your choi-
ce, the second call will be left unans-wered when the message expires. If you do not take the second call, you continue the first call. If you takeit, the first call is put on hold. Note: if you switch to the call put on
hold and it has been interrupted during your call, you must select the"Hang up" tab to clear the "Com-
munication in progress" message
from the screen. Continuity of service If you get into your vehicle while a call is in progress on your mobiletelephone, you can continue this callusing the hands-free kit after a fewseconds.
To do this, you must "trigger" the system: - by switching on the ignition,or
- by switching on the audio equipment.Note:
if you switch the ignition off
while a call is in progress, the system remains in "hands-free" mode untilthe end of the call or until the telephone is disconnected from thesystem. Secrecy mode During a conversation, it is possible, from your telephone, to transfer thesound to enable you to continue theconversation using your telephone
directly.
Inversely, you can, from the telepho- ne, transfer the sound to return to"hands-free" mode.
To use this function, please refer to your telephone's manual.
