CHANGING A FUSE
T h e f u s e b o x e s a r e p l a c e d i n t h e l o w e r
p a r t o f t h e f a s c i a ( d r i v e r ' s s i d e ) , i n t h e
e n g i n e c o m p a r t m e n t ( l e f t - h a n d s i d e )
and in the left boot trim.
Replacing a fuse
B e f o r e r e p l a c i n g a f u s e , t h e c a u s e o f
the incident must be found and recti-
i e d . T h e f u s e n u m b e r s a r e i n d i c a t e d
o n t h e f u s e b o x .

To start the vehicle from another
battery, use the front additional
terminal:

r e m o v e t h e l e f t s i d e c o v e r ,
u s e t h e t w o a d d i t i o n a l ( + ) a n d ( - )
terminals located under the bonnet
a n d o n l y t h e s e ,
o p e n t h e r e d c o v e r o f t h e ( + ) t e r m i n a l ,
c o n n e c t t h e r e d c a b l e b e t w e e n t h e
(+) terminal and the (+) terminal of
t h e s l a v e b a t t e r y ,
connect the green or black cable
b e t w e e n t h e ( - ) t e r m i n a l a n d t h e
n e g a t i v e ( - ) t e r m i n a l o f t h e s l a v e
b a t t e r y ,
s t a r t t h e e n g i n e a n d l e t i t r u n ,
w a i t f o r t h e e n g i n e t o r e t u r n t o i d l e
t h e n d i s c o n n e c t t h e c a b l e s ,
c l o s e t h e r e d c o v e r o f t h e ( + ) t e r m i n a l ,
r e i t t h e l e f t s i d e c o v e r ,
close the bonnet. N e v e r d i s c o n n e c t a t e r m i n a l
w h e n t h e e n g i n e i s r u n n i n g .
C l o s e t h e w i n d o w s a n d s u n -
roof fully before disconnecting
the battery.
I t i s i m p e r a t i v e t h a t c a b l e s o f p r o f e s s i o n a l
quality and suitable cross-section are
u s e d ; f o r f u r t h e r i n f o r m a t i o n , c o n t a c t a
PEUGEOT dealer. Batteries contain harmful
s u b s t a n c e s s u c h a s s u l p h u -
ric acid and lead. They must
b e d i s p o s e d o f i n a c c o r d a n c e
w i t h r e g u l a t i o n s a n d m u s t n o t , i n a n y
c i r c u m s t a n c e s , b e d i s c a r d e d w i t h
h o u s e h o l d w a s t e .
T a k e u s e d b a t t e r i e s t o a n a p p r o v e d
c o l l e c t i o n p o i n t .
To charge the battery:
o p e n t h e b o n n e t ,
r e m o v e t h e l e f t s i d e c o v e r ,
u s e t h e t w o a d d i t i o n a l ( + ) a n d ( - )
t e r m i n a l s l o c a t e d u n d e r t h e b o n n e t ,
o p e n t h e r e d c o v e r o f t h e ( + ) t e r m i n a l ,
f o l l o w t h e i n s t r u c t i o n s f o r u s e p r o -
v i d e d b y t h e m a n u f a c t u r e r o f t h e
c h a r g e r ,
c l o s e t h e r e d c o v e r o f t h e ( + ) t e r m i n a l ,
r e i t t h e l e f t s i d e c o v e r ,
close the bonnet.
D o n o t s t a r t t h e v e h i c l e w h i l e t h e
charger is connected. A f t e r e v e r y r e - c o n n e c t i o n o f
t h e b a t t e r y , s w i t c h o n t h e i g n i -
t i o n a n d w a i t f o r 1 m i n u t e b e -
f o r e s t a r t i n g , t o a l l o w t h e e l e c -
tronic systems to be initialised.
H o w e v e r , i f s l i g h t d i f i c u l t i e s a r e e x -
p e r i e n c e d a f t e r t h i s , p l e a s e c o n t a c t a
P E U G E O T d e a l e r . I f e l e c t r i c a l w o r k i s
c a r r i e d o u t , d i s c o n n e c t t h e b a t t e r y .
W h e n c h a r g i n g o r r e p l a c e m e n t o f t h e
b a t t e r y i s n e c e s s a r y , d o n o t c l o s e t h e
b o o t a s , s i n c e i t i s o n l y o p e n e d e l e c -
t r i c a l l y , i t w o u l d t h e n b e n e c e s s a r y t o
use the emergency control (see cor-
r e s p o n d i n g s e c t i o n ) .
Do not connect a slave battery to
the (+) and (-) terminals located un-
der the bonnet if there is no battery
in the boot (risk of short circuit).
