REAR PARKING
ASSISTANCE
This system, installed in the rear
bumper, detects any obstacle (per-son, vehicle, tree, gate, kerb...)located behind the vehicle.
To activate With the engine running, the sys- tem is activated as soon asreverse gear is engaged; a bleepsounds to inform you that it isactive. The proximity information is given by an audible signal, con-sisting of bleeps which becomemore and more rapid as the vehi-cle approaches the obstacle. When the distance between the rear of the vehicle and the obsta-cle is less than approximatelytwenty-five centimetres, the signal becomes con-tinuous. The system ceas- es to be activewhen you changeto neutral. TYRE UNDER-INFLATION DETECTION Sensors check the tyre pressure during driving, and trigger a warn-ing if there is a malfunction (speedgreater than 15 mph (25 km/h).
Tyre under-inflation
When this warning light comes on, accompaniedby a bleep and the mes-sage 'Tyre(s) pressure
low', have the tyre pressure
checked as soon as possible. Puncture
Display of this warning light, accompanied by anaudible signal and themessage 'Punctured
tyre(s) detected', is fol-
lowed by illumination of the
STOP warning light.
Stop immediately, avoiding allabrupt manoeuvres with thesteering wheel and the brakes. Change the damaged (punctured or very under-inflated) wheel andhave the tyre pressure checkedas soon as possible. Note: if the damaged wheel is
stored temporarily in the boot, it will again send this message as areminder of the necessity of hav-
ing it repaired. This will prevent asimilar warning being displayed. Sensor(s) not detected
Display of this warninglight, accompanied by anaudible signal and themessage 'X tyre pres-
sure sensor(s) missing', indi-
cates that one or more wheelsare not being detected.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer to replace the faulty sensor(s).
Warning: this message is dis-
played when one of the wheels is at a distance from the vehicle(being repaired) or when a wheelwithout a sensor is fitted (winterfitting). This system does not eliminate the need to check the tyre
pressure regularly.

Notes It is only possible to change from one gear to another if the vehicle speed and enginespeed permit. If they do not, the vehicle willoperate temporarily in automatic mode. When the vehicle is stationary or moving
very slowly, the gearbox automaticallyselects gear M1.
Programmes S(sport) and (snow) do not
operate in manual mode.
Operating abnormality Any operating abnormality isshown by illumination of this warn-ing light, accompanied by an audi-ble signal and the message 'Auto-
matic gearbox faulty' on the

select function Din the gate.
The gearbox always selects the most suitable gear according to the follow-ing parameters:
Ð the style of driving,
Ð the road profile,
Ð the vehicle load. The gearbox is then operating in auto- adaptive mode, without any action onyour part.
WARNING Never select function N when the vehi-
cle is moving.Never select functions Por Runless
the vehicle is stationary.Never change betwen functions to optimise braking on a slippery surface. Notes For immediate maximum acceleration
without touching the gear lever, pressthe accelerator pedal down as far as it
will go (kickdown). The gearbox willautomatically change down or main-tain the gear selected until maximumengine speed is reached. When the brake is applied, the gear- box will automatically change down in
order to provide efficient engine brak-ing.
If you take your foot off the accelerator
suddenly, the gearbox will not change
to a higher gear for reasons of safety. Sport and snow programmes In addition to the auto-adaptive pro- gramme, there are two special pro-grammes.The programme is displayed on theinstrument panel screen. Sport programme
