STARTING
STOP position:
The ignition is switched off.

Starting position:

Automatic check
With the ignition on (2nd notch)
If no malfunction has been
detected: In the absence of
vehicle function status indi
cator lights, the OK light is
displayed after two seconds
on the instrument panel screen.
Otherwise, it will be displayed after
these indicator lights come on.
If a 'minor' malfunction has been
detected: the warning light for the
faulty function is displayed on the
instrument panel screen. Certain
indicator lights showing the status of
vehicle functions may also come on,
followed by the OKindicator light.
If a 'major' malfunction has been
detected: the corresponding warn
ing light is displayed on the instru
ment panel screen. Certain indicator
lights showing the status of vehicle
functions may also come on. The
OK indicator light does not come
on. Do not start your vehicle.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Afterwards, if the passenger air
bag is disarmed, the correspond
ing warning light will come on.
With the engine running or if the
vehicle is moving, the instrument
panel screen temporarily displays:
– lights indicating warnings, when
these occur,
– vehicle function sta tus indicator lights,
when a change
occurs.
The display of certain indicator
lights is accompanied by an audi
ble signal and a message on the
multi function display.
MANUAL CHECK Press the "CHECK" button on the
instrument panel.
With the ignition key in the accessories
position, with the ignition switched on,
with the engine running or the vehicle
moving, this function informs you at all
times of the following:
– any current warnings,
– the status of functions which it is possible to switch on or switch off
(windscreen wipers, automatic
switching on of lights, cruise con
trol, disarming of passenger air
bag, etc.).
The corresponding warning lights are
displayed in succession on the instru
ment panel screen.
If a warning or a change of status
occurs during the CHECKmode, the
corresponding indicator light(s) will be
displayed at the end of this mode.
Never run the engine in
a confined space.
Do not make any modi fications to the steering
lock.

THE MULTI-FUNCTION
DISPLAY
General
– The multifunction, monochrome Cor colour display shows the
following:
– the time,
– the date,
– the outside temperature (symbol °C flashes if there is a risk of ice),
– the audio system displays,
– the telephone displays,
– status of the openings,
– warning messages (e.g. 'Fuel level low') and vehicle function status
messages, displayed temporarily,
– trip computer display (see corre sponding section),
– satellite navigation system dis plays* (see corresponding sec
tion),
– video images.
It is controlled by a keypad.
Superimposed display
When the status of a function (audio
system, telephone, trip computer,
satellite navigation system,....)
changes while the display has been
showing a different function, a win
dow opens to announce the modifi
cation (information / warning mes
sage), then disappears.

This enables the functions, controls and parameters displayed to
be selected
and validated. It is located next to the display.
Dial
This has two functions:
–Rotation of the dial:
This allows you to move around the screen and thus select a
function.
It also allows you :
– after selection of a 'setting' type parameter, to increase or
decrease the value,
– with a 'list'type parameter, to open the list and scroll through
the values.
– Pressing the dial:
This allows:
– confirmation of the selected function or the modified value.
– selection of a 'setting' or 'list' type parameter in order to
modify it.
– cancelling of a superimposed display.
'MENU' button:
This allows access at any time to the general menu.
'MODE' button:
– brief press: – monochrome screen C: selection of functions (audio system,
navigation / guidance...),
– colour screen: access to the list of controls (context menu) of
the function being displayed.
– Press for more than two seconds: putting the screen on standby.
'ESC' button:
– brief press: cancelling of the operation in progress and a re turn
to the previous screen or erasing of a superimposed display.
– press for more than two seconds: return to the start up screen.

Language
Select the required language, then
confirm and record the modification.
The system then asks you to load the
language inn the navigation system.
Select "Yes"then confirm.General information
The 'General information' function
displays an information summary on
the following items:
– the time, outside temperature, date or telephone status,
– the audio equipment and the tele phone,
– the range (see Section on 'Trip computer'),
– Navigation/guidance details* not covered by the map (see Section
on 'Satellite navigation system').
The context menu for this function
enables you to access:
– the parameters to adjust for opti mum use of the screen,
– the telephone directories (SIM, BIS, and TEL).

To modify a parameter, press the dial or
the mode button.
The
'Settings' function displays a sum
mary of the settings used.
The context menu allows you to change
these settings:
– language used for vocal messages or
visual displays (French, English, Ger
man, Spanish, Italian, Dutch),
– colour (blue, green, grey, beige /
auto),
– brightness,
– frame (horizontal, vertical),
– time / date,
– units (km litres, miles gallons, °C, °F).

GENERAL FUNCTIONS On/off
With the ignition key in the accessories position (1st notch) or with the ignition on (2nd notch), press button
A to switch the set on or off.
The set can operate for 30 minutes without the vehicle ign ition being switched on.
Anti theft system
The audio system is coded in such a way that it can operate on ly on your vehicle. It would not function if fitted to another
vehicle.
This system is automatic and requires no action on your part.
ADJUSTING THE SOUND Adjusting the volume
Turn buttonAto increase or decrease the volume.
Note: the automatic volume correction function "CAV", which depends on the speed of the vehicle, is acces
sible using the audio menu on the multi function display.
AUDIO SETTINGS Press the 'AUDIO' button several times in succession to access the bass (BASS), treble (TREB), loudness
(LOUD), fader (FAD) , balance (BAL)and automatic volume correction (CAV).
Exit from audio mode is automatic after a few seconds without p ressing any button, or by pressing the
'AUDIO' button after adjusting the balance.
Note: bass and treble settings are specific to each source. It is possibl e to set them differently for radio,
cassette (RM2 audio) or CD changer.

Traffic information programme RM2 audio:press the 'TA'button to switch the function on or off.
RT2 audio: press the '#
kTA 'button to switch the function on or off.
The display will show: – 'TA' if the function is selected.
– '(TA)' or'T
A' if the function is selected but not available.
Any traffic information flash will be given priority, whatever source you are listening to (radio, cassette or CD changer).
Note: the volume of the traffic information announcements is indepe ndent of the volume of normal radio listening. You can
adjust it by using the volume button. The setting will be stored and will be used when the next messages are broadcast.
Regional following mode
When they are part of a network, certain stations broadcast regi onal programmes in the various areas they serve. With
regional following mode you can keep listening to the same programme.
RM2 audio: press the 'RDS'button for more than two seconds to switch the function on or off.
RT2 audio: press the '
jj✱ RDS'button for more than two seconds to switch the function on o r off.

PTY function
This allows you to listen to stations broadcasting a specific type of programme (news, culture, sport, rock etc.)
RM2 audio: with FM selected, press the 'TA'button to switch the function on or off.
RT2 audio: with FM selected, press the '
#
kkTA ' button to switch the function on or off.
To search for a PTY programme: – select the PTYfunction ,
– briefly press button Mor Lto scroll down the list of the various programmes offered.
– when the programme of your choice is displayed, keep button Mor Lpressed for more than two seconds
to carry out an automatic search (after an automatic search the PTYfunction is switched off).
Audio RM2: in PTY mode the different types of programmes can be stored in the
memory. To do this, press one of the preselection buttons '1'to '6' for more than
two seconds. Briefly press the corresponding button to recall the type of pro
gramme stored in the memory.
Audio RT2: in PTY mode the different types of programmes can be stored in the memory . To do this,
press one of the preselection buttons '1'to '6' for more than two seconds. Briefly press the corre
sponding button to recall the type of programme stored in the memory.
EON system
This connects stations which are part of the same network. It en ables the broadcast of traffic information or a PTY pro
gramme by a station, which is part of the same network as the sta tion to which you are listening.
To do this, select the TA traffic information programme or the PTYfunction.

CASSETTE: Audio RM2
Selecting cassette mode When a cassette is inserted, the cassette player will start auto matically.
If a cassette is already inserted, press button C.
Ejecting the cassette Press button Eto eject the cassette from the drive.
Direction of play
The player will play sides 1 and 2 of the cassette alternate ly, automatically reversing the direction of play at the end of the side.To manually reverse the direction of play of the cassette, press b utton C.
Selecting a cassette track (blank search) Press button Mto select the next track.
Press button Lto return to the start of the current track or to select the previ ous track.
Fast forward and rewind
Fully press button Mor Lto fast forward or rewind the tape. At the end of the fast forward/rewind, the current side is played.
Noise reduction (Dolby B NR system) Press button Cfor more than 2 seconds to switch the function on or off.
Dolby noise reduction is manufactured under licence by Dolby Lab oratories Licensing Corporation.
'Dolby' and the double D symbol are brand marks of Dolby Labora tories Licensing Corporation.
Recommendations concerning the use of cassettes
– Use good quality cassettes.
– Avoid the use of cassettes which play for more than 90 minute s.
– Never expose cassettes to heat or sunlight.
– Re tension the tape if necessary before inserting the cassette into the player.
– Regularly clean the playing heads with a damp type cleanin g cassette.

Accelerated play
Press and hold button Mor Lfor forwards or backwards accelerated play.
Accelerated play stops as soon as the button is released.
Shuffle (RDM) When the CD changer is selected, press and hold button D for 2 seconds. The tracks will be played in ran
dom sequence (pressing button Dfor longer allows other discs to be played in random sequence). Pressing
button D again returns you to normal play.
