Front passenger air bag
1. Insertion of the key.
2. Selection of the "OFF" position.
3. Removal of the key keeping the
switch in this position. With the vehicle stationary, when the igni-
tion is switched on, the warning light comes
on if the driver and/or the front passenger
has not fastened his seat belt.
From approximately 12 mph (20 km/h)
and for two minutes, the warning light
fl a s h e s a c c o m p a n i e d b y a n a u d i b l e s i g n a l
which increases in volume. Once these
two minutes have elapsed, the warning
light remains on until the driver or front
passenger fastens his seat belt.
When the vehicle is moving, the warning
light comes on if the driver or one of the
front or rear passengers unfastens his
seat belt.

Tyre under-inflation detection
Sensors check the pressure of the tyres
while driving and trigger a warning if
a malfunction occurs (speed above
15 mph (25 km/h)).

Memorising using the controls on
the driver's door
To memorise:
Place the key in the ignition on po-
sition,
Adjust your seat and mirrors,
Press button M , then button 1 " fi r s t
driving position" or button 2 "sec-
ond driving position" within four
seconds.

Memorising a new position cancels
the previous one. Recalling a memorised driving
position

ADVICE ON CHILD
SEATS
Installing a booster seat
The chest part of the seat belt must
be positioned on the child's shoulder
without touching the neck.
Ensure that the lap part of the seat
belt passes correctly over the child's
thighs.
PEUGEOT recommends the use of
a b o o s t e r s e a t w h i c h h a s a b a c k , fi t -
ted with a seat belt guide at shoulder
level.
As a safety precaution, do not leave:
- one or more children alone and un-supervised in a vehicle,
- a child or an animal in a vehicle which is exposed to the sun, with
the windows closed,
- the keys within reach of children inside the vehicle.
To prevent accidental opening of the
doors, use the "Child lock".
Take care not to open the rear win-
dows by more than one third.
To protect young children from the
r a y s o f t h e s u n , fi t s i d e b l i n d s o n t h e
rear windows.
The incorrect installation of a child seat
in a vehicle compromises the child's
protection in the event of an accident.
Remember to fasten the seat belts or
the child seat harnesses
keeping the
slack in relation to the child's body to
a minimum , even for short journeys.
For optimum installation of the "for-
ward facing" child seat, ensure that
the back of the child seat is in contact
with the back of the vehicle's seat and
that the head restraint does not cause
any discomfort.
If the head restraint has to be removed,
ensure that it is stored or attached se-
curely to prevent it from being thrown
around the vehicle in the event of sharp
braking.
"ISOFIX" MOUNTINGS
T h i s s e a t i s fi t t e d w i t h I S O F I X m o u n t i n g s .
These are two rings located between
the seat back and the seat cushion.
The ISOFIX child seats a r e fi t t e d w i t h
two locks which are secured easily on
these rings.
This ISOFIX mounting system guaran-
t e e s r e l i a b l e , s a f e a n d f a s t fi t t i n g o f t h e
child seat in your vehicle.
If a child is not installed in a
vehicle correctly, the child's
protection in the event of a
collision will be compromised.
Children under the age of 10 must not
travel in the "forward facing" position
on the front passenger seat, unless
the rear seats are already occupied by
other children, cannot be used or are
absent.
Disarm the passenger air bag when
a "rear facing" child seat is installed
on the front seat. Otherwise, the child
would risk being seriously injured or

IMMOBILISER
This locks the engine control system
a f e w m o m e n t s a f t e r t h e i g n i t i o n h a s
b e e n s w i t c h e d o f f a n d t h e r e f o r e p r e -
vents starting of the vehicle by anyone
w h o d o e s n o t h a v e t h e k e y .
The ignition key has an electronic chip
w h i c h h a s a s p e c i a l c o d e . W h e n t h e
i g n i t i o n i s s w i t c h e d o n , t h e c o d e i s r e c -
o g n i s e d a n d s t a r t i n g i s p o s s i b l e .
B a t t e r y r e f . : C R 1 6 2 0 / 3 v o l t s .
T h e i n f o r m a t i o n " b a t t e r y fl a t " i s g i v e n b y
d i s p l a y i n g o f t h e s e r v i c e w a r n i n g l i g h t ,
accompanied by an audible signal and a
m e s s a g e o n t h e m u l t i - f u n c t i o n d i s p l a y .
To replace the battery, unclip the casing
u s i n g a c o i n a t t h e n o t c h .
I f t h e r e m o t e c o n t r o l d o e s n o t w o r k a f t e r
t h e b a t t e r y h a s b e e n c h a n g e d , r e p r o -
g r a m m e t h e r e m o t e c o n t r o l . Do not discard the batteries,

Make a careful note of the
number on each key. The
key number is coded on the
label attached to the key.
If the keys are lost, a PEUGEOT
dealer can rapidly supply you with
new keys.
The high frequency remote control
is a sensitive system; do not oper-
ate it while it is in your pocket as
there is a possibility that it may un-
lock your vehicle, without you being
aware of it.
The remote control does not oper-
ate when the key is in the ignition,
even when the ignition is switched
off, except for reprogramming.
Do not operate the deadlocking
function if there is anyone inside
the vehicle.
Driving with the doors locked may
make access to the passenger com-
partment by the emergency services
m o r e d i f fi c u l t i n a n e m e r g e n c y .
As a safety precaution (with children
on board), remove the ignition key
when you leave the vehicle, even for
a short time.
Do not repeatedly press the button
of your remote control out of range
and out of sight of your vehicle.
You run the risk of stopping it from
working and the remote control
would have to be reprogrammed.
When purchasing a second-hand ve-
hicle, have the key codes memorised
by a PEUGEOT dealer to ensure that
the keys in your possession are the
only ones which can start the vehicle.
