Levels
These regular maintenance
operations will keep your vehicle
in good running order. Consult the
instructions at PEUGEOT dealerships,
on the Service Box site or in the
servicing booklet enclosed in the
handbook pack. To maintain the reliability of engines
and emission control systems, the use
of additives in engine oil is prohibited.
Oil change
It is imperative that this is carried out at
t h e i n t e r v a l s s p e c i i e d a n d t h e v i s c o s i t y
g r a d e o f t h e o i l s e l e c t e d m u s t f u l i l t h e
requirements in accordance with the
manufacturer’s servicing schedule.
Consult the instructions at PEUGEOT
dealerships or on the Service Box site.
R e m o v e t h e d i p s t i c k b e f o r e i l l i n g .
C h e c k t h e l e v e l a f t e r i l l i n g ( n e v e r
exceed the max mark).
Screw the cap back onto the sump
before closing the bonnet.
LEVELS
I f y o u h a v e t o r e m o v e / r e i t t h e
engine style cover, handle it with
c a r e t o a v o i d d a m a g i n g t h e i x i n g
clips.
Dipstick There are two marks
on the dipstick:
A = maximum
I f y o u i l l p a s t t h i s
mark, contact a
PEUGEOT dealer.
B = minimum
Never allow the level
to fall below this
mark. Warning lights
Oil level
Check the level regularly and top up
between changes. The maximum
consumption is 0.5 litre per 600 miles
(1 000 km).
Check the level with the vehicle level,
engine cold, using the dipstick.
Viscosity selection
In all cases, the oil selected must meet
the manufacturer’s requirements. Checking by means of the
warning lights on the instrument
panel is described in chapter 2,
"Instruments and controls" section.
Changing the brake fluid
T h e b r a k e l u i d m u s t b e c h a n g e d a t
the intervals stated, according to the
manufacturer’s servicing schedule.
U s e l u i d s r e c o m m e n d e d b y t h e
m a n u f a c t u r e r , w h i c h f u l i l D O T 4
standards.
The level must be between the MIN
and MAX marks on the reservoir.
I f l u i d h a s t o b e a d d e d f r e q u e n t l y ,
this indicates a failure which must be
checked by a PEUGEOT dealer as
soon as possible.
