Seat belt not fastened warning light*
When the ignition is switchedon, this indicator light comes on
if the driver has not fastened his seat belt. Above 12 mph (20 km/h), the warning light flashes for two minutes accompa-nied by an audible signal which
becomes progressively louder. Oncethe two minutes have elapsed, thewarning light remains on until the driverfastens his seat belt.
Front and side airbags warning light
The light will come on for a few sec-onds when the ignition is switched on. With the engine running, illumination of this warning light indicates a faultin the air bags.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
Battery charge warning light
This indicates one of the following:
Ð faulty operation of the charging circuit,
Ð slack battery or starter terminals,
Ð a cut or slack alternator belt,
Ð an alternator failure.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
Engine diagnostics warning light
This comes on each time the ignitionis switched on. If it comes on with the engine running, this indicates incorrectoperation of the injection, ignition or
emission control system. There is arisk of damage to the catalyticconverter (petrol engine only).
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.

Water in diesel filter indicator*
There is a risk of damage to theinjection system.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer as soon as possible.
Passenger air bag disarmedwarning light*
If the passenger air bag is disarmed, the warning light comes on when the ignitionis switched on and it remains on.
Always consult a PEUGEOT dealerif the warning light flashes. Low fuel levelwarning light
When this light first comes on, you haveenough fuel to drive
approximately
30 miles (50 km) . (The tank capacity is
approximately 55 litres for petrol engines
and 60 litres for Diesel engines.)
Diesel engine pre-heatwarning light
Wait until the warning light goes out before starting the engine. If the temperature is high enough, the warning light comes on for less
than one second. You can start theengine without waiting.
Coolant temperature indicator
Ð needle in zone (A), the tempera-
ture is correct,
Ð needle in zone (B), the tempera-
ture is too high. The central STOP
warning light flashes.
You must stop.

Lighting rheostat With the lights on, press the button to vary the intensity of the lighting ofthe instruments and controls. Whenthe lighting reaches the minimum (ormaximum) setting, release the but-ton then press it again to increase(or reduce) the brightness. As soon as the lighting is of the required brightness, release thebutton.
Total distance recorder Briefly pressing button
1alternates
between the total and trip distance displays.
To reset the trip recorder to zero, when it is displayed press button 1
until zeros appear.

1. Air conditioning
The air conditioning is designed to operate in all seasons. In summer, it enables
the temperature to be lowered and in winter, above 0 ¡C, it increases the effec-tiveness of the demisting.Press the switch to activate the air conditioning. The indicator light comes on. 2. Air flow adjustment and air
intake control
Turn the control from posi-tion 1to position 4to obtain
an air flow sufficient toensure your comfort.

AIR CONDITIONING
The air conditioning does not operate while the air flow adjustment control is in the minimum position. Note: It is quite normal that the condensation created by the air conditioning
results in a flow of water under the vehicle when it is stationary.

SEAT BELTS Seat belt height adjustment
To lower or raise: slide the control downwards or upwards. Fastening the seat belts Pull the strap, then insert the end into the buckle. Seat belts with pre-tensioner Safety in the event of front impacts has been improved by the introduc-
tion of seat belts with pre-tensioner. Depending on the seriousness of the impact, the pre-tensioning systeminstantly tightens the seat belts andpulls them against the bodies of theoccupants. The pre-tensioning seat belts are active when the ignition is on.
To be effective, a seat belt must be tightenedas close to the body aspossible.
Depending on the nature andseriousness of the impact, the pre-tensioning system may be trig-gered before and independently ofthe air bags. In all cases, the air bag warning light on the instrument panelcomes on. Following an impact, have the system checked by a PEUGEOT
dealer.

THE KEYS The keys allow you to switch on the ignition and operate the passengerair bag disarming switch as well as toindependently operate the locks onthe doors and the fuel filler cap. Central locking From the front doors, the keys allow you to lock and unlock the doors andtailgate. If one of the doors or the tailgate is open, the central locking does notwork. The remote control performs the same functions at a distance.
Locating your vehicle
To locate your vehicle, if you have locked it, in a car park: press button A, the courtesy
lights come on and the direction indicators flash for a few seconds.
The remote control Locking Press button
Ato lock the vehicle.
This is confirmed by fixed lighting of the direction indicators for approxi-mately two seconds. Unlocking Press button B to unlock the vehicle.
This is confirmed by rapid flashing of the direction indicators. Note: if the vehicle is locked and
unlocking is activated inadvertently, unless the doors are opened within30 seconds, the vehicle will lock
automatically.
Changing the battery of the remote control The "battery flat" information is pro-
vided by an audible signal accompa-
nied by the message "Remote con-
trol battery flat" on the screen.
To change the battery, unclip thecasing using a coin at the ring
(CR 2016/3 volt battery). If the remote control does not work after the battery has been changed,re-programme the remote control. Programming the remote control Switch off the ignition.
Switch the ignition on again.
Press button Aimmediately for a
few seconds.
Switch off the ignition and remove the remote control key from the
ignition lock. The remote control isnow working again.

Confidential card The confidential card contains the identification code necessary for anywork carried out by a PEUGEOTdealer on the electronic immobiliser
system. This code is hidden by afilm, which should be removed only if
necessary. Keep your card in a safe place, never inside the vehicle. Key in ignition

switched off and therefore preventsstarting of the vehicle by anyone

FILLING WITH FUEL Low fuel level
When the minimum fuel level in the tank isreached, this warninglight comes on.
You have enough fuel remaining todrive for approximately 30 miles(50 km). The engine must be switched off when filling with fuel. Insert the key then turn it to the left.
Remove the cap.
An indication reminds you which type of fuel to use. When you fill your tank, do not con-
tinue after the third cut-off of the
pump. This could cause your vehicleto malfunction. The capacity of the tank is approximately 55 litres for petrolengines and 60 litres for Dieselengines. After filling the tank, lock the cap.
When the cap is removed, the right-hand sliding sidedoor cannot be opened.
The key cannot be removed fromthe lock until the cap has beenreplaced on the fuel tank.
