Avoidfrequentoperationoftheconvertibletopwiththeengineoff;thevehiclebatterywouldbeunintentionallydischargedrapidly.

Whenopeningorclosingtheconvertibletop,ensurethereissufficientclearanceabovetheconvertibletop(e.g.inthegarage).

Thesidewindowsareloweredautomaticallywhentheconvertibletopisopened.Thedoorwindowscloseautomaticallyifconvertibletopoperationisnotinterruptedwhentheconvertibletopreachesitsfinalposition.Whenthedoorwindowsareclosed,therearsidewindowscanalsobeclosed.Whenopeningthedoorwindows,therearwindowsopenautomatically.
Thesidewindowsareloweredautomaticallywhentheconvertibletopisclosed.Allwindowsclose
automaticallyifconvertibletopoperationisnotinterruptedwhentheconvertibletopreachesitsfinalposition.
Preconditionsforoperationofthe
convertibletop
–Theignitionmustbeswitchedon(enginerunningoroff),
–theenginecompartmentlidmustbeclosed,
–thespeedmustbebelowapprox.30mph(50km/h).Ifthismaximumspeedisexceed-ed,theopening/closingprocedureoftheconvertibletopwillbeinterrupted.

2.Regularlycheckthebrake-fluidlevelonthetransparentexpansiontankthroughthewindowB.Thefluidlevelshouldalwaysliebetweentheminimumandmaximummarks.
Aslightdecreaseinthefluidlevelduetowearandautomaticreadjustmentofthediscbrakesisnormal.If,however,thefluidlevelfallsmarkedlyorbelowtheminimummark,thebrakingsystemmayhavedevelopedaleak.
HavethebrakesystemcheckedwithoutdelayatanauthorizedPorschedealer.
Changingthebrakeuid
Brakefluidabsorbsmoisturefromtheairovertime.Thisaccumulationofwaterlowerstheboilingpointand,undercertainoperatingconditions,canaffectthebrakingperformance.Thereforehavethebrakefluidchangedinaccordance

Removetarstains,grease,oilspotsanddeadinsectsassoonaspossiblewithInsectRemover.Theycancausediscolorationifallowedtoremainonthepaintwork.
Washtheaffectedareaimmediatelyaftertreatingit.
Minorpaintdamage
Haveminorpaintdamage,suchasscratches,scoresorchipscausedbyflyingstones,repairedimmediatelybyyourauthorizedPorschedealerbeforecorrosionsetsin.
However,iftherearealreadytracesofcorrosion,theymustfirstberemovedcarefullyandthorough-ly.Coattheareawitharust-proofingprimerandfinishoffwithatopcoat.ThepaintcodeandcolornumberarefoundonthedatabankintheMainte-nancebookletandonthefillerflap.
Enginecompartment
Theenginecompartmentandthesurfaceoftheenginearetreatedwithacorrosion-inhibitoratthefactory.
Ifdegreasingsolventsareusedtocleantheenginecompartmentortheengineiswasheddown,theprocessalmostinvariablyremovesthecorrosion-inhibitingcoating.Itisthenabsolutelynecessarytohaveadurablepreservativeappliedtoallsurfaces,bodyseams,jointsandassembliesintheenginecompartment.Thisalsoapplieswhencorrosion-inhibitorpartsarereplaced.

Riskofdamagetothealternator.
Donotpointthecleaningjetdirectlyatthealternator,orcoverthealternator.
Effectivecorrosion-proofingisparticularlyimpor-tantduringthecoldweatherseason.Ifyourcarisdrivenfrequentlyinareaswheresalthasbeenspreadontheroads,thewholeenginecompart-mentshouldbecleanedthoroughlyafterthewintertopreventsaltfromcausinganylastingdamage.Afullunder-bodywashshouldalsobeperformedatthesametime.
Windows
Theroaddustwhichsettlesonthewindshieldandwindowscontainsparticlesoftirerubber
andoilresidue.Theinteriortrimandupholsteryreleaseparticles,particularlyinstrongsunlight,whichcollectontheinsidesofthewindows.Thesedepositsareaugmentedbyimpuritiesintheairwhichentersthecarthroughthefreshairvents.
Cleanallwindowsregularly,insideandoutside,withPorschewindowcleaner.
Ifyouuseachamoisleatherforthewindows,donotuseitforpaintworkasitwillotherwisepickupacertainamountofpreservativeorpolishandcouldsmearthewindowsandthusimpairvision.
RemovedeadinsectswithPorscheinsectremover.
Note
Doorwindowsfeatureawater-repellent(hydropho-bic)coatingwhichpreventssoilingofthewindows.Thiscoatingissubjecttonaturalwearandcanberenewed.

Wiperbladesthatareinperfectconditionarevitalforaclearview.

Increasethetirepressureto58psi(4bar).Itisnotrecommendedtoliftthevehicle,duetothepossibilityofcorrosiononshockabsorberpistonshafts.Thevehicleshouldbemovedslightly,approximatelyeveryfourweeks,topreventflatspotonthetires.

5.TurnsocketwrenchbackuntilitispointingverticallydownwardBandleaveinposition.
6.Theheadlightisnowunlockedandcanbepulledforwardoutofthefender.
Installing
1.Insertheadlightintotheguiderailsandpushfullyintothefender.
2.PushheadlighttotherearandatthesametimeturnthesocketwrenchuntilitpointshorizontallytotherearC.Theheadlightlockingdevicemustperceptiblyandaudiblyengage.
3.Inserttherubberplugintotheunlockingopeningandsecurethecarpet.Checkthefunctionofalllights.
