Yourengineisdesignedtoprovideoptimumperformanceandfueleconomyusingunleadedpremiumfuelwithanoctaneratingof98RON(93CLCorAKI).Porschethereforerecommendstheuseofthesefuelsinyourvehicle.
Porschealsorecognizesthatthesefuelsmaynotalwaysbeavailable.Beassuredthatyourvehiclewilloperateproperlyonunleadedpremiumfuelswithoctanenumbersofatleast95RON(90CLCorAKI),sincetheengine’s”ElectronicOctaneTMknockcontrol“willadapttheignitiontiming,ifnecessary.
Fuelscontainingalcoholandether
SomeareasoftheU.S.requireoxygenatedfuelsduringcertainportionsoftheyear.Oxygenatedfuelsarefuelswhichcontainalcohols(suchasmethanoloretha-nol)orether(suchasMTBE).
Undernormalconditions,theamountofthesecompoundsinthefuelwillnotaffectdriveability.
YoumayuseoxygenatedfuelsinyourPorsche,providedtheoctanerequirementsforyourvehiclearemet.Werecommend,however,thatyouchangetoadiffer-entfuelorstationifanyofthefollowingproblemsoccurwithyourvehicle:
–Deteriorationofdriveabilityandperformance.
–Substantiallyreducedfueleconomy.
–Vaporlockandnon-startproblems,especiallyathighaltitudeorathightemperature.
–Enginemalfunctionorstalling.
FuelscontainingMMT
SomeNorthAmericanfuelscontainanoctaneenhancingadditivecalledmethylcyclopentadienylmanganesetricarbonyl(MMT).Ifsuchfuelsareused,youremis-sioncontrolsystemperformancemaybenegativelyaffected.Thecheckenginewarninglightsonyourinstrumentpanelmayturnon.Ifthisoccurs,PorscherecommendsyoustopusingfuelscontainingMMT.

Engineexhaust,someofitsconstituents,andcertainvehiclecomponentscontainoremitchemicalsknowntotheStateofCaliforniatocausecancerandbirthdefectsorotherreproductiveharm.Inaddition,certainfluidscontainedinvehiclesandcertainproductsofcomponentwearcontainoremitchemicalsknowntotheStateofCaliforniatocausecancerandbirthdefectsorotherreproductiveharm.

Awaste-managementsystemhasbeenintroducedtoreducetheamountofwastewhilesimultaneous-lyincreasingtherecyclingrate.

Sporttires
Sporttires(ultrahighperformancetires)areapprovedforuseonpublichighwaysandcomplywithallstatutoryrequirementsandsafetycriteria.
Thedesignofthetireisalsogearedtowardsuseonracingcircuits(driversafetytrainingcourses,sportsdrivingschools,ClubSportevents)andprovidesdistinctadvantageshereintermsofdrygripandwearcomparedtoconventionalroadtires.
Themajorfeaturesareareducedtreaddepthandaspecialtreadpatternandcarcass.
Thedesignfeaturesofthissportstireresultinthefollowingeffectscomparedwithothersummertireswhenusedundernormaldrivingconditions:
–Becausethesetireshavedifferenttreadcharacteristics,theywillwearconsiderablyfasterthanothersummertires.Howmuchfastertheywillweardependsonindividualdrivingstyleandserviceconditions.
–Exercisecautionwhendrivingonwetroads,payingspecialattentiontohydroplaningsituations(stagnantwater,puddles,lanegrooves).Sporttireshavealowertreaddepththannormaltiresandyoumustthereforeadaptspeedaccordinglywhendrivingonwetsurfaces.
–Thedriver’sskilllevelmustbecommensuratewiththevehicleperformancelevelsintheupperrangelimits,duetoincreasedsafetyrisksintheupperrangelimits.
Atoudsidetemperaturesbelow45°F(7°C)changetowintertires.

Wearonthedifferentcomponentsandbrakingsystem,suchasbrakepadsandbrakediscs,dependstoagreatextentontheindividualdrivingstyleandtheconditionsofuseandthereforecannotbeexpressedinactualmilesontheroad.
