Yourvehicleisequippedwithaweightsensingsystemforthepassenger’sseatinaccordancewithU.S.FederalMotorVehicleSafetyStandard208.Dependingontheweightactingonthepassenger’sseat,thepassenger’sairbagwillautomaticallybeswitchedonoroff.
Smalladultpassengers
MakesurethatthePASSENGERAIRBAGOFFindicatorlampdoesnotlightup.

Riskofseriouspersonalinjuryordeathduetothepassenger’sairbagnottriggering.Whentheignitionisonandthesmalladultpassengerisseatedonthepassenger’sseat,theindicatorlamp“PASSENGERAIRBAGOFF”mustbeoff.Ifthe“PASSENGERAIRBAGOFF”indicatorlamplightsup,itcouldindicateafaultinthesystem.Inthiscase:
Carrythepassengerontherearseat.
HavethefaultremediedatthenearestauthorizedPorschedealer.
Automaticlockingretractor
Thesafetybeltsforthefrontpassengerandrearseatsareequippedwithanautomaticlockingretractorforsecuringthechildrestraintsystem.Whenactivated,thisretractorallowsyoutosecurelyfastenthechildrestraintsysteminplacesothatinadvertentmovementswillnotoccur.

Theuseofachildrestraintsystemonthefrontpassengerseatcanresultinseriouspersonalinjuryordeathtothechildfromanairbagdeployment.Toreduceriskofinjuryfromaninatingairbaginanaccident,Porschestronglyrecommends:

Riskofseriouspersonalinjuryordeathtothechild,whenexcessiveforceisactingonthepassenger’sseatduetotheseatbelt.Insuchcases,thepassenger’sairbagcanbeswitchedonunintentionally.
Afterfasteningthechildrestraintsystem,donotadjusttheseat.
Checktheconditionofthepassenger’sairbagsystemshownbytheindicatorlampAinthecentralconsole.
Activatingtheautomaticlockingretractor
1.Ifachildrestraintsystemmustbefastenedtothepassenger’sseat,adjustthepassenger’sseatasfarawayfromtheairbagaspossible.
2.Fastenchildseat.
3.Pullthesafetybeltretractorcompletelyout.Atthispointthelockingmechanismisactivated.
4.Insertthesafetybelttongueintothebuckleandmakecertainthatitisproperlylatched.Makenomoreadjustmentstotheseat.
5.Allowthesafetybelttoretractuntilitistightonthechildrestraintsystem.Youmayfurthertightenthebeltbypullingonittoallowmoreofittoretract.Makesurethatexcessiveseatbeltforcesdonotoccurbymovingtheseatwiththechildseatinstalled.
Releasingthesafetybelt
1.Unbucklethesafetybeltlatch.
2.Thenmakecertainthatthebelthasfullyretracted.Atthispointtheautomaticlockingfeaturewillbedisengaged.SeekappropriateadvicefromyourauthorizedPorschedealeraboutthepossibleinstallationofaPorschechildrestraintsystem.

Lockingthesteeringcolumn

Thesteeringcolumnisautomaticallylockedwhentheignitionkeyiswithdrawnfromtheignitionlock.
Warning!
Riskofanaccident,resultinginseriouspersonalinjuryordeath.Thesteeringwheelwilllockandwillcauselossofsteering.
Neverremovekeyfromtheignitionlockorturnthekeyoffwhilethevehicleismoving.

1.CarefullyunclipbothcoversAwithascrewdriv-er.IfthecarisequippedwithHomeLink,theHomeLinkbuttonsmustbecarefullyunclippedinsteadofthecovers.
2.UnscrewthetwoscrewsB.
3.Folddownthecoverofthelifting/slidingroofdriveattherear.RemovetheAllenkey(arrow)fromitsholder.
4.InserttheAllenkeyintothedriveaxle.
5.PresstheAllenkeyintothedriveaxle,keepitpressedandturnitclockwiseuntilthelifting/slidingroofisclosed.
6.RemovetheAllenkey.Closethecoverandscrewinthescrews.
7.HavethefaultremediedatanauthorizedPorschedealer.
