Sporttires
Sporttires(ultrahighperformancetires)areapprovedforuseonpublichighwaysandcomplywithallstatutoryrequirementsandsafetycriteria.
Thedesignofthetireisalsogearedtowardsuseonracingcircuits(driversafetytrainingcourses,sportsdrivingschools,ClubSportevents)andprovidesdistinctadvantageshereintermsofdrygripandwearcomparedtoconventionalroadtires.
Themajorfeaturesareareducedtreaddepthandaspecialtreadpatternandcarcass.
Thedesignfeaturesofthissportstireresultinthefollowingeffectscomparedwithothersummertireswhenusedundernormaldrivingconditions:
–Becausethesetireshavedifferenttreadcharacteristics,theywillwearconsiderablyfasterthanothersummertires.Howmuchfastertheywillweardependsonindividualdrivingstyleandserviceconditions.
–Exercisecautionwhendrivingonwetroads,payingspecialattentiontohydroplaningsituations(stagnantwater,puddles,lanegrooves).Sporttireshavealowertreaddepththannormaltiresandyoumustthereforeadaptspeedaccordinglywhendrivingonwetsurfaces.
–Thedriver’sskilllevelmustbecommensuratewiththevehicleperformancelevelsintheupperrangelimits,duetoincreasedsafetyrisksintheupperrangelimits.
Atoudsidetemperaturesbelow45°F(7°C)changetowintertires.
