Iftheengine-speedlimitisreached,anautomaticupwardshiftisperformedor,justbeforeidlingspeedisreached,adownwardshiftisperformed.

Thisrestrictioncanbecancelledforonegearchangebydepressingtheacceleratortokickdown.If,forexample,theenginespeedlimitisreachedduringovertakingandtheautomaticupshiftdoesnotoccur,thetransmissioninthiscaseshiftsupbyacceleratingtokickdown.
Depresstheacceleratorpedalbeyondthefull-throttlepoint(kickdown).
Manualmodefailure
Ifmanualmodefails,thecontrolelectronicsswitchtoautomaticmode.Inthisevent,theinstrumentclusterwilldisplayselectorleverpositionD.
HavethefaultremediedatanauthorizedPorschedealer.
Stopping
Forabriefstop(e.g.atatrafficlight),leavetheselectorleverindrivepositionandholdthevehiclewiththebrakepedal.
Foralongerstopwiththeenginerunning,selectpositionN(neutral)andholdvehicleinpositionwiththefootbrake.SelectleverpositionDonlywhenthefootbrakepedalisdepressed.
Donotholdthecaronaslopeusingtheaccelerator.Usethebrakepedalorthehandbrakeinstead.
Beforeleavingthevehicle,alwaysapplythehandbrakeandmovetheselectorlevertopositionP.
Parking
Goeasyontheaccelerator!
Whenparkingormaneuveringinasmallspace,controlthespeedbycarefuluseofthefootbrake.
Drivinginwinter
Inwintryroadconditionsitisadvisabletotakesteepinclinesinmanualmode.Thispreventstheoccurrenceofgearchangesthatcouldcausewheelspin.

DonotshiftintoRwhilethevehicleismovingforward.
Proceedasfollowsintheeventofatransmissionfault:
1.Stopinasafeplace.
2.MoveselectorlevertopositionP,switchtheignitionoffandwaitfor10seconds.
3.Starttheengine.2ndgearinselectorpositionDandreversegearRarenowavailable.
