Aslightdecreaseinthefluidlevelduetowearandautomaticreadjustmentofthediscbrakesisnormal.If,however,thefluidlevelfallsmarkedlyorbelowthe“Min”mark,thebrakingsystemmayhavedevelopedaleak.
HavethebrakingsystemcheckedimmediatelyatanauthorizedPorschedealer.
Changingthebrakeuid
Brakefluidabsorbsmoisturefromtheairovertime.Thisaccumulationofwaterlowerstheboilingpointand,undercertainoperatingconditions,canaffectthebrakingperformance.Thereforehavethebrakefluidchangedinaccordance

Neverrubadustycarwithadryclothsincedustparticlesareabrasiveandcoulddullanddamagethesurfacefinish.
Thepaintworkofyourcarisexposedtoalltypesofmechanicalandchemicalconditions,particularlyclimaticonessuchasbrightsunlight,rain,frostandsnow.Ultravioletlight,rapidchangesintemperature,rain,snow,industrialdustandchemicaldepositsconstantlyattackthepaintwhichisonlyabletowithstandsuchexposureinthelongtermifitisgivenregularcareandattention.
Donotapplysiliconepolishestothewindows.
Donottreatmatt-paintedcomponentswithpreservativesorpolishesasthiswillspoilthematteeffect.
Preservation
Thepaintsurfacebecomesdullovertimeduetoweathering.Itisthereforenecessarytopreservethepaintregularly.
Thiskeepsthepaintshinyandelastic.Dirtispreventedfromadheringtothepaintsurfaceandindustrialdustispreventedfrompenetratingthepaint.
Provideditiswashedandtreatedwithpreservativeregularly,thebrandnewfinishofyourvehiclewillberetainedforyearstocome.
Simplyapplypaintpreservativeafterwashingthevehicleandpolishitsmooth.
Polishing
DonotresorttousingPorschepolishuntilitbecomesevidentthatthenormalpreservativesnolongerproducethedesiredfinish.
Spotsandstains
Removetarstains,grease,oilspotsanddeadinsectsassoonaspossiblewithInsectRemover.Theycancausediscolorationifallowedtoremainonthepaintwork.
Washtheaffectedareaimmediatelyaftertreatingit.
Minorpaintdamage
Haveminorpaintdamage,suchasscratches,scoresorchipscausedbyflyingstones,repairedimmediatelybyyourauthorizedPorschedealerbeforecorrosionsetsin.
However,iftherearealreadytracesofcorrosion,theymustfirstberemovedcarefullyandthorough-ly.Coattheareawitharust-proofingprimerandfinishoffwithatopcoat.ThepaintcodeandcolornumberarefoundonthedatabankintheMainte-nancebookletandonthefillerflap.
Cleaningandpreservingengine
compartment
Theenginecompartmentandthesurfaceoftheenginearetreatedwithacorrosion-inhibitoratthefactory.
Ifdegreasingsolventsareusedtocleantheenginecompartmentortheengineiswasheddown,theprocessalmostinvariablyremovesthecorrosion-inhibitingcoating.Itisthenabsolutelynecessarytohaveadurablepreservativeappliedtoallsurfaces,bodyseams,jointsandassembliesintheenginecompartment.Thisalsoapplieswhencorrosion-inhibitorpartsarereplaced.

Donotpointthecleaningjetdirectlyatthealternator,orcoverthealternator.
Effectivecorrosion-proofingisparticularlyimpor-tantduringthecoldweatherseason.Ifyourcarisdrivenfrequentlyinareaswheresalthasbeenspreadontheroads,thewholeenginecompart-mentshouldbecleanedthoroughlyafterthewintertopreventsaltfromcausinganylastingdamage.Afullunder-bodywashshouldalsobeperformedatthesametime.

IfyouintendtostoreyourPorscheforaprolongedperiod,pleaseconsultyourauthorizedPorschedealer.Thestaffwillbegladtoadviseyouonthemostsuitableandnecessarymethods.
Cleanyourvehiclethoroughlyinsideandoutside.Cleantheenginecompartment.Theundercarriageandchassiscomponentsshouldbefreeofdirtandsaltdeposits.
Fillupthefueltank.
Changetheoilandoilfilter,andruntheengineforseveralminutes.
Increasethetirepressureto58psi(4bar).Itisnotrecommendedtoliftthevehicle,duetothepossibilityofcorrosiononshockabsorberpistonshafts.Thevehicleshouldbemovedslightly,approximatelyeveryfourweeks,topreventflatspotonthetires.
Climatecontrol
Theairconditioningsystemshouldbeingoodworkingconditionandfullycharged.
Windshield/Headlightwasher
Checkandcorrectantifreeze/cleaningsolutionlevelasnecessary.
Electricalsystem
Removethebatteryfromthevehicleandstoreitinacooldryplace,notonacementfloor.Whenthebatteryisdisconnected,thealarmsystemisdeactivated.
Rechargethebatteryevery3months.Ifthebatteryremainsinthevehiclewiththecablesconnected,itisnecessarytocheck,removeandrechargethebatteryevery2-3weeks.Donotfastchargethebattery.

Vehicleinterior
Theinteriormustbedry,especiallyintheareaofthefloorcarpets.Theuseofdryingagents(Silica-Gel)isrecommendedinvehicleswithleatherinteriorandinareaswithhighhumidity.Therecommendedamountis3fabricbagsof1.1lbs.(500grams)eachplacedonthefloorcarpets.
