Whenthetirepressurewarninghasappearedontheon-boardcomputer,stopimmediatelyatasuitablelocation.Checkthetireforsignsofdamage.Ifnecessary,fillintiresealantandsetthecorrecttirepressure.
Thistirepressurewarningappearswhendrivingandcanbeacknowledged.Thetirepressurewarninglightintheinstrumentpanelgoesoutwhenthetirepressurehasbeencorrected.
Systemlearning
TheTirePressureMonitoringbeginsto“learn”thewheelsafterawheelchange,wheeltransmitterreplacementorupdateofthetiresettings.During
thisprocess,theTirePressureMonitoringrecog-nizesthetiresandtheirlocations.Theon-boardcomputerdisplayesthemessage“TPCinactive-systemlearning”.
TheTirePressureMonitoringrequiresacertainamountoftimetolearnthewheels.Duringthistime,thecurrenttirepressuresarenotavailableontheon-board-computer:
–ThedisplayoftheTirepressurefunctionoftheon-boardcomputershowslines.
–Therequiredpressuresforcoldtiresat68°F(20°C)areindicatedintheInfopressuredisplayintheTirepressuremenu.
–Tirepressurewarningsareissuedwithouttirepressureandpositioninformation(gure)assoonasthevehicle’sownwheelshavebeendetectedandthetirepressurewarninglighthasgoneout.
PositionandpressureinformationisdisplayedassoonastheTirePressureMonitoringhasassignedthewheelsidentifiedasbelongingtothevehicletothecorrectwheelpositions.
Thewheellearningprocesstakesplaceexclusivelywhenthevehicleisbeingdriven.
Manuallycheckthetirepressureatallwheelsandcorrectthetirepressuretotherequiredvalue.
Changingawheelandreplacingtires
Newwheelsmustbefittedwithradiotransmit-tersfortheTirePressureMonitoring.Beforetiresarechanged,thebatterychargestateofthewheeltransmittersshouldbecheckedatanauthorizedPorschedealer.
Switchtheignitionoffwhenchangingawheel.
Thetiresettingsontheon-boardcomputermustbeupdatedafterchangingawheel.
Amessageappearsifthecharacteristicsofthenewtiresdonotagreewiththeon-boardcomputersettings.
Updatetheon-boardcomputersettingswhenthevehicleisstationarythenexttime.
Warninglight
Thewarninglightinthespeedometerlightsup:
–Whenalossinpressurehasbeendetected
–IftheTirePressureMonitoringisfaulty
–Whenlearningnewlymountedwheels/wheelsensors,aslongasthevehicle’sownwheelshavenotyetbeenrecognized.
Thetirepressurewarninglightintheinstrumentpanelgoesoutonlywhenthecauseofthefaulthasbeenrectified.

Nomonitoring
IntheeventoffaultstheTirePressureMonitoringcannotmonitorthetirepressure.Thewarninglightontheinstrumentpanellightsupandacorrespondingmessageappearsontheon-boardcomputer.
Monitoringisnotactivewhen:
–theTirePressureMonitoringisfaulty,
–wheeltransmittersfortheTirePressureMonitoringaremissing,
–temporarilyafterchangingawheel(learningphase),
–morethanfourwheeltransmittersaredetect-ed,
–thereisexternalinterferencebyotherradiosources,e.g.wirelessheadphones,
–tiretemperaturesaretoohigh.

Ifthevehiclehasbeentransported(e.g.ferry,cartrain),thesystemmaytakeafewminutestodeterminethecurrentlocationafterithasbeenswitchedon.
Serioustireslip(e.g.spinningwheelsonsnow)mayresultintemporarilyinaccuratenavigation.
Whenthebatteryhasbeendisconnected,itmaytakeupto15minutesbeforethenavigationsystembecomesoperationalagain.

FMreception
Avehicleisnotanidealplacetolistentoaradio.Becausethevehiclemoves,receptionconditionsareconstantlychanging.Buildings,terrain,signaldistanceandnoisefromothervehiclesareallworkingagainstgoodreception.SomeconditionsaffectingFMmayappeartobeproblemswhentheyarenot.
Thefollowingcharacteristicsarecompletelynormalforagivenreceptionarea,andtheydonotindicateanyproblemwiththeradioitself.

Fadinganddrifting
FMrangeislimitedtoabout25miles(40km),exceptforsomehighpowerstations.
Ifavehicleismovingawayfromthedesiredstation’stransmitter,thesignalwilltendtofadeand/ordrift.ThisconditionismoreprevalentwithFMthanAM,andisoftenaccompaniedbydistortion.Fadinganddriftingcanbeminimizedtoacertaindegreebycarefulattentiontofinetuningorselectionofastrongersignal.
Staticanduttering
Whentheline-of-sightlinkbetweenatransmitterandvehicleisblockedbylargebuildingsormoun-tains,theradiosoundmaybeaccompaniedwithstaticorflutteringbecauseofthecharacteristicofFM.Inasimilareffect,aflutteringnoiseissome-timesheardwhendrivingalongatree-linedroad.
Thisstaticandflutteringcanbereducedbyadjust-ingthetonecontrolforgreaterbassresponseuntilthedisturbancehaspassed.
Multipath
BecauseofthereflectingcharacteristicsofFM,directandreflectedsignalsmayreachtheantennaatthesametime(multipath)andcanceleachotherout.Asavehiclemovesthroughtheseelectronicdeadspots,thelistenermayhearamomentaryflutterorlossofreception.
Stationswapping
WhentwoFMstationsareclosetoeachother,andanelectronicdeadspot,suchasstaticormultipatharea,interruptstheoriginalsignal,sometimesthestrongersecondsignalwillbeselectedautomaticallyuntiltheoriginalonereturns.Thisswappingcanalsooccurasyoudriveawayfromtheselectedstationandapproachanotherstationofastrongersignal.

AnyportabletelephoneorradiotransmitterwhichisusedinaPorschemustbeproperlyinstalledinaccordancewiththetechnicalrequirementsofPorsche.
Thetransmissionpowermustnotexceed10W.Thedevicesmustpossessatypeapprovalforyourvehicleandhavean“e”symbol.
Ifyoushouldrequireequipmentwithtransmissionpowervaluesgreaterthan10W,pleaseconsultyourauthorizedPorschedealerforthispurpose.Heisfamiliarwiththetechnicalrequirementsforinstallingdevicesofthiskind.
Theantennasforallradiosandtelephoneswithatransmittingantennamustbeexternallymounted.
Theimproperinstallationofradiosortelephonesoruseofaradioortelephonewithatransmittingantennainsidethecarmaycausethewarninglightstocomeon.
Improperinstallationofsuchequipmentcancreateadischargedbatteryorexcessivecurrentdrawfromaddedequipment.
Ifaftermarketsystemsareinstalledbynon-deal-ershiptechniciansoroutsidethesellingdealer,problemsmayresult.InstallationofaftermarketequipmentisnotcoveredundertheNewCarWar-ranty.

Hands-freemicrophone
Hands-freemicrophonesAinstalledatthefactorymustbeadaptedtothetypeoftelephoneinuse.YourauthorizedPorschedealerwillbepleasedtoadviseyou.
Receptionquality
Thereceptionqualityofyourcartelephonewillchangeconstantlywhenyouaredriving.Interferencecausedbybuildings,landscapeandweatherisunavoidable.Itmaybecomeparticularlydifficulttohearwhenusingthehands-freefunctionduetoexternalnoisesuchasengineandwindnoise.

Alarmsystem,centrallocking
Thestatusofthecentrallockingandalarmsystemisnotchangedbydisconnectingthebattery.Whenthebatteryisdisconnected,thealarmsystemceasestofunction.
Overloadprotection
Ifthecentrallockingsystemisoperatedmorethantentimeswithinaminute,furtheroperationisblockedfor30seconds.
Loadswitch-offafter2hoursor7days
Iftheignitionkeyisremoved,loadswhichareswitchedonorareinstandbymode(suchastheluggagecompartmentlight,interiorlightandradio)areautomaticallyswitchedoffafterapprox.2hours.
Ifthevehicleisnotstartedorunlockedwiththeremotecontrolwithin7days,theremotecontrolstandbyfunctionisswitchedoff(tosavethevehiclebattery).
1.Inthiscase,unlockthedriver’sdoorwiththekeyatthedoorlock.Leavethedoorclosedinordertopreventthealarmsystemfrombeingtriggered.
