Donotholdthepedaldowntoolongortoooften.Thiscouldcausethebrakestogethotandnotfunctionproperly.
Brakebooster
Thebrakeboosterassistsbrakingonlywhentheengineisrunning.
Whenthecarismovingwhiletheengineisnotrunning,orifthebrakeboosterisdefective,morepressureonthebrakepedalisrequiredtobringthecartoastop.Ifthishappens,ABSandPSMwillalsonotoperate.
Moistureorroadsaltonbrakesaffectsbraking.Whenthevehicleisdrivenonsaltedroadsforextendedperiods,thebrakesshouldbewasheddownthoroughlyaboutevery2weeks.Anauto-maticcarwashfacilitycannotdothisjobproperly.Brakeswilldryafterafewcautiousbrakeapplica-tions.

Eachtire,includingthespare(ifprovided),shouldbecheckedevery2weekswhencold(68°F/20°C)andinflatedtotheinflationpres-surerecommendedinthisOwner’sManualoronthetire-pressureplate.IfyourvehiclehastiresofadifferentsizethanthesizeindicatedinthisOwner’sManualoronthetire-pressureplate,youshoulddeterminethepropertireinflationpressureforthosetires.
Asanaddedsafetyfeature,yourvehiclehasbeenequippedwithatirepressuremonitoring(TPC)thatilluminatesalowtirepressuremessagewhenoneormoreofyourtiresissignificantlyunder-inflated.Accordingly,whenthelowtirepressuremessageilluminates,youshouldstopandcheckyourtiresassoonaspossible,andinflatethemtotheproperpressure.Drivingonasignificantlyunder-inflatedtirecausesthetiretooverheatandcanleadtotirefailure.Under-inflationalsoreducesfuelefficiencyandtiretreadlife,andmayaffectthevehicle’shandlingandstoppingability.
PleasenotethattheTPCisnotasubstituteforpropertiremaintenance,anditisthedriver’sresponsibilitytomaintaincorrecttirepressure,evenifunder-inflationhasnotreachedthelevelto
