Generalinformation
Warning!
Theseatmaymoveunexpectedlyifyouattempttoadjustwhiledriving.Thiscouldcausesuddenlossofcontrol,resultinginseriouspersonalinjuryordeath.
Donotadjustseatswhilethevehicleisinmotion.Thebackrestlocksmustbeengagedatalltimeswhilethevehicleisinmotion.
Warning!
Safetybeltsonlyofferprotectionwhenthebackrestisuprightandthebeltsareproperlypositionedonthebody.Improperlypositionedsafetybeltsorsafetybeltswornbypassengersinanexcessivelyreclinedpositioncancauseseriouspersonalinjuryordeathinanaccident.
Donotoperatethecarwiththedriverorpassengerbackrestsexcessivelyreclined(see“Seatposition”).
Seatposition
Anergonomicallycorrectsittingpositionisimportantforsafeandfatigue-freedriving.Werecommendthefollowingprocedureforadjustingthedriver’sseattosuitindividualrequirements:
1.Vehicleswithmanualtransmission:Adjusttheseatuntil,withtheclutchpedalfullydepressed,yourlegremainsataslightangle.VehicleswithTiptronicS:Adjusttheseatuntil,withyourleftfootonthefootrest,yourleftlegremainsataslightangle.
2.Restyouroutstretchedarmonthesteeringwheel.Setthebackrestangleandthesteer-ing-wheelpositionsothatyourwristrestsontheouterrimofthesteeringwheel.Atthesametime,theshouldersmuststillbeinnoticeablecontactwiththebackrest.
3.Adjusttheseatheighttogiveyourselfenoughheadroomandagoodoverviewofthevehicle.
4.Electricallyadjustableseat:Adjusttheseatangleuntilyourthighsrestlightlyontheseatcushion.

Presstheswitchinthedirectionindicatedbythearrowuntilthedesiredbackrestcurvatureisreached.
F-Adjustingthebackrestsidebolsters

SteeringWheelAdjustment
Adjustingsteeringwheelheightand

Warning!
Riskofaccident.Thesteeringwheelmaymovefurtherthandesiredifyouattempttoadjustitwhendriving.Youcanlosecontrolofthevehicle,causingseriouspersonalinjuryordeath.
Donotadjustthesteeringwheelwhendriving.
1.Inserttheignitionkeyfullyintoignitionlock.
2.Pushthelockingleverdownwards.
3.Adjuststeeringwheeltofitthechosenbackrestangleandyourseatpositionbymovingthesteeringwheelupordownandlongitudinally.
4.Swivellockingleverbackuntilyoufeelitengage.Ifnecessary,movethesteeringwheelslightlyupordownandlongitudinally.

Afterwashing,rinsethecarwithplentyofwaterandthendrywithachamoisleather.Donotusethesamechamoisleatherfordryingasyouuseforcleaningthewindshieldandwindows.
Warning!
Moisturewhichgetsontothebrakesduringacarwashcanreducebrakingefciencyormakethebrakespullunevenlywhichcouldincreasethedangerofanaccident,causingseriouspersonalinjuriesordeath.
Alwaysapplythebrakesafewtimesafterwashingthecartotestbrakingefficiencyanddrythebrakediscs.Whendoingthis,takecarenottohamperotherroadusersbehindyou(trafficconditionspermitting).
Automaticcarwashes
Optionaladd-onpartsorpartswhichprojectbeyondthecontoursofthevehiclemaybedamagedbydesignfeatures(e.g.brushes)ofautomaticcarwashes.
Washanddrybyhandallpointsnotreachedbyacarwash,suchasdoorandlidseamsordoorsills.
Pleaseconsulttheoperatorbeforeusingautomaticcarwashes.

Thefollowingpartsareparticularlysuscepti-bletodamage:
–Windshieldwipers(alwaysswitchthemofftopreventthemwipingunintentionallyinintermittentorsensoroperation).

–Wheels(thewidertherimandthelowerthetireheight,thegreatertheriskofdamage).
–High-glosswheels(topreventthesefromgettingscratched,donotcleanwiththewheel-cleaningbrushesofthecarwash).
–Externalantenna(alwaysunscrew).
–RoofTransportSystem(alwaysremovecompletely).
Note
Automaticcarwashesspraywateratoddanglesandhighpressures,whicharenotseeninnormaldriving.Therefore,watercansometimesfinditswayintothepassengerscompartmentduringorshortlyafterthecarwash.
Doorlocks
Topreventthedoorlocksfromfreezingduringthecoldseason,thelockcylindersshouldbecoveredduringawash.
Shouldthelocksfreeze,useanordinaryde-icer.Inmanycases,awellwarmedkeycanhelp.Neveruseexcessiveforce.

2.Loosenthe3screwsBandtakeoutthelighthousing.
