Tyre inflation kit
TYRE PRESSURE KIT (1/3)
AB
Do not attempt to use the inflation kit if the tyre has been damaged as a result of driving with a puncture.
You should therefore carefully check the condition of the tyre sidewalls before any operation.
Driving with underinflated, flat or punctured tyres can be dangerous and may make the tyre impossible to repair.
This repair is temporary
A tyre which has been punctured should always be inspected (and repaired, where possible) by a spe- cialist.
When taking a tyre which has been repaired using this kit to be replaced, you must inform the specialist.
When driving, vibration may be felt due to the presence of the repair product injected into the tyre.
The kit is only approved for inflating the tyres of the ve- hicle originally equipped with the kit.
It must never be used to inflate the tyres of another vehicle, or any other inflatable object (rubber ring, rubber boat, etc.).
Avoid spillage on skin when hand- ling the repair liquid bottle. If drop- lets do leak out, rinse them off with plenty of water.
Keep the repair kit away from chil- dren.
Do not dispose of the empty bottle in the countryside. Return it to your approved dealer or to a recycling or- ganisation.
The bottle has a limited service life which is indicated on its label. Check the expiry date.
Contact an approved dealer to re- place the inflation tube and repair product bottle.
The kit repairs tyres when
tread A has been dam- aged by objects smaller than 4 mm. It cannot repair all types of puncture, such as cuts more than 4 mm, or cuts in the tyre
sidewall B.
Ensure also that the wheel rim is in good condition.

TYRE PRESSURE KIT (2/3)
In the event of a puncture, use the kit which is located under the luggage compartment carpet on equipped ve-
hicles: open the kit, remove the caps 1
and 4 (it is essential not to remove the bursting disc from the bottle) and screw
bottle 2 in place of cap 4.
Do not pull out the foreign body causing the puncture if it is still in the tyre.
With the ignition on,
– adapter
8 must be connected to ve-
hicle accessories socket 9;
– unscrew the valve cap of the wheel
concerned and screw on the inflation
adapter 6;
– press switch
3 to inflate the tyre to the recommended pressure (refer to the information on “Tyre pressure”);
– after a maximum of
7 minutes, stop inflating and read the pressure (on
the pressure gauge 5).
Note: while the bottle is emptying (ap- proximately 30 seconds), the pressure
gauge 5 will indicate briefly a pressure of 6 bar, then the pressure drops.

Start the engine as you would normally. As soon as it is running, disconnect
leads A and B in the reverse order (5-4-3-2).
Attach the positive lead A on support 1 to terminal 2 (+) of the discharged bat- tery, then to terminal 3 (+) of the bat- tery supplying the current.
Attach negative lead B to terminal 4 (–) of the battery supplying the current, then to terminal 5 (–) of the discharged battery.
Starting the vehicle using the
battery from another vehicle
Proceed as follows when starting your vehicle from another vehicle’s battery:
Obtain suitable jump leads (large) from an approved Dealer or, if you already have jump leads, ensure that they are in perfect condition.
The two batteries must have an iden- tical nominal voltage of 12 volts. The battery supplying the current should have a capacity (amp-hours, Ah) which is at least the same as that of the dis- charged battery.
Ensure that there is no risk of contact between the two vehicles (risk of short circuiting when the positive terminals are connected) and that the discharged battery is properly connected. Switch off your vehicle ignition.
Start the engine of the vehicle supply- ing the current and run it at an interme- diate engine speed.

Leads A and B must only be con- nected to the terminals indicated.
Check that there is no con-
tact between leads A and B
and that the positive lead A is not touching any metal parts on the vehicle supplying the current.
Risk of injury and/or damage to the vehicle.

Towing weight (Towing a caravan, boat, etc.)
– It is important to comply with the towing weights, governed by local legislation in each country and, in particular, laid down in
the Road Traffic Regulations. Contact an approved Dealer for any modifications to tow\
ing equipment.
– When towing, under no circumstances may
the total train weight (vehicle + trailer) be exceeded. However the following is permitted:
– the Maximum permissible weight at the rear may be exceeded by no more th\
an 15%,
– the maximum permissible all-up weight may be exceeded by no more than 10\
% or 100 kg (whichever occurs first).
In either case, the maximum speed of the towing assembly must not exceed 60 mph (100 km/h) and the tyre pressure must be increased by 0.2 bar (3 PSI). In all cases, comply with local legislat\
ion.
– The engine output and climbing capability are reduced with altitude. We recommend that the maximum load be reduced by
10% at an altitude of 1,000 metres and by an additional 10% for each 1,0\
00 metres thereafter.
