"INACTIVE"
Check the condition and the fitting of the clutch pedal switch (see MR 392, 385, 364,
370 and 417 Mechanical, 37A, Mechanical component controls, Clutch pedal
position sensor: Removal - Refitting).
Remove the clutch pedal switch and check the insulation between connections MAM

MAS and 86D (for Clio III and Modus) of component675 with the switch in the rest
position.
– Repeat this operation with the switch engaged, and check the continuity between
the two connections.
If these two checks are not correct, replace the clutch pedal switch (see MR 392, 385,
364, 370 and 417 Mechanical, 37A, Mechanical component controls, Clutch pedal
position sensor: Removal - Refitting).
Then check the continuity and absence of interference resistance of the following
connection:
– connection code 86D between components 120 and 675.
– Check that the earth is correct on connectionMAM (for Mégane II ph 2, Scénic II
ph2 and Kangoo II) or on connectionMAS (for Clio III and Modus) of
component675.
If the connection or connections are faulty and there is a repair procedure (see

CRUISE CONTROL/SPEED LIMITER DEACTIVATION
STATUS DEFINITIONThis status varies according to engine specifications.
NOTESSpecial notes:
Only perform these tests if the status does not correspond with the system
programming functions.
Use CLIO III, MODUS, MEGANE II ph2, SCENIC II ph2 and Kangoo II Wiring
diagrams Technical Note.
Note:
Cruise control can be activated when the vehicle speed exceeds 18 mph (30 km/h).
Status ET415 shows various reasons that cause deactivation of the cruise control/speed limiter function, which
are due to driver action or external factors (for example, STATUS 1).
IMPORTANT:
Erase the fault memory by running the command RZ001 Fault memory to reset this status to WITHOUT.
WITHOUT
This status is WITHOUT when:
– the computer has been reinitialised,
– the computer has been reprogrammed.
STATUS 1Traction control request
If the vehicle is fitted with a traction control system, the cruise control function is
deactivated every time the ABS computer calls for traction control.
Status ET415 becomes STATUS 1 when driving with the cruise control active
(ET042 Cruise control/Speed limiter: CRUISE CONTROL) and when traction control
is requested.
This deactivates cruise control.
Reinitialise status ET415 on the injection computer by running command
RZ001 "Fault memory".
If status ET415 becomes STATUS 1 with no traction control request (see 38C,
Anti-lock Braking System).
AFTER REPAIRCarry out a road test, then check with the diagnostic tool.

JAMMED ACCELERATOR PEDAL
STATUS DEFINITIONYES: This status indicates that the accelerator pedal is detected to be jammed.
NO: This status indicates that the accelerator pedal is not detected to be jammed.
Conformity check with the engine stopped and the ignition on, or engine running, and engine coolant
temperature > 80°C
NOTESSpecial notes:
Apply this procedure only if the status is YES.
Use the Wiring Diagram Technical Note for Mégane II ph2, Scénic II ph2, CLIO III,

Check the condition of the connector for the engine management computer, component code 120.
If the connectors are faulty and if there is a repair procedure (see Technical Note 6015A, Repairing electrical
wiring, Wiring: Precautions for repair) repair the connector(s); otherwise, replace the wiring.
Measure the resistance of the pedal potentiometer gang 1 between connections 3LR and 3LT.
If the resistance of the pedal potentiometer is not between 0.8 kΩ and
2.6 kΩ, replace the pedal potentiometer
(see MR 392, 385, 364, 370 and 417 Mechanical, 13B, Diesel injection, Accelerator pedal potentiometer:
Removal - Refitting).
Measure the resistance of the pedal potentiometer on gang 2 between connections 3LU and 3LV.
If the resistance of the pedal potentiometer is not between 0.8 kΩ and
4.9 kΩ, replace the pedal potentiometer
(see MR 392, 385, 364, 370 and 417 Mechanical, 13B, Diesel injection, Accelerator pedal potentiometer:
Removal - Refitting).
YES or NOThis status varies when the ignition is on or the engine is running depending on the
status of the accelerator pedal.

RAIL PRESSURE
PARAMETER
DEFINITIONThis parameter indicates the fuel pressure in the rail in bars.
NOTESThere must be no present or stored faults.
Perform this fault finding procedure:
– after an inconsistency appears on the Parameter screen,
– following the activation of command AC003 Fuel pressure solenoid valve,
– following a customer complaint (starting problems, poor performance, stalling, etc.).
Use CLIO III, MODUS, MEGANE II ph2, SCENIC II ph2 and KANGOO II Wiring
Diagrams Technical Notes.
Conformity check with the engine stopped and the ignition on, or the engine running and the engine
coolant temperature > 80°C
Check the insulation, continuity and the absence of interference resistance on the following connections:
–3LX between components 1032 and 120,
–3LY between components 1032 and 120,
–3LZ between components 1032 and 120.
If the connection(s) are faulty and there is a repair method (see Technical Note 6015A, Repairing electrical
wiring, Wiring: Precautions for repair), repair the wiring, otherwise replace it.
If all these connections are correct, check for the fuel pressure sensor supply:
+ 5 V on connection code 3LX between components 1032 and 120,
Earth on connection code 3LZ between components 1032 and 120.
If the connection(s) are faulty and there is a repair procedure (see Technical Note 6015A, Repairing electrical
wiring, Wiring: Precautions for repair), repair the wiring, otherwise replace it.
Check the low and high pressure diesel circuit sealing (visual checks, odours): on pump body, pressure release
valve, pipes, rail and injector unions, injector wells, etc.
If all the above checks are correct:
With the vehicle ignition on, and engine stopped for over 1 minute:
Display PR038; if the value is lower than 30 bar, the sensor is correct.
Otherwise replace the rail pressure sensor (see MR 392, 385, 364, 370
and 417 Mechanical, 13B, Diesel
injection, Rail pressure sensor: Removal - Refitting).
AFTER REPAIRDeal with any faults displayed by the diagnostic tool.

TURBOCHARGING PRESSURE
PARAMETER
DEFINITIONThis parameter indicates the turbocharging pressure in mbar.
NOTESSpecial notes:
Only apply the checks if the parameter is inconsistent.
Use CLIO III, MODUS, MEGANE II ph2, SCENIC II ph2 and KANGOO II Wiring
diagrams Technical Note.
Conformity check with the engine stopped and the ignition on, or the engine running and the engine
coolant temperature > 80°C
With the vehicle ignition on and engine stopped:
– Remove the turbocharger pressure sensor.
– With the sensor connected to the harness, read the value of PR041 from the Parameter screen:
– If the value is not very close to PR035 Atmospheric pressure, maximum pressure difference between
PR035and PR041 with the engine stopped = ± 50 mbar:
Check the insulation and absence of interference resistance on the signal line and the turbocharging
pressure sensor power supply lines.
If the lines are correct, replace the turbocharging pressure sensor.
– Connect a vacuum pump or pressure pump to the turbocharger pressure sensor.
– Apply a pressure of between 0.1 and 1.3 bar (maximum pressure to be applied: 1.3 bar).
– Compare the pressure value displayed in the Parameter screen with that given by the vacuum pump:
If the difference* = ± 0.1 bar, replace the turbocharging pressure sensor.
If there is no discrepancy, the turbocharging pressure sensor is correct.
*Note:
The diagnostic tool displays the absolute pressure, the pressure gauge for the vacuum pump displays
therelative pressure: the normal difference between these two values is equal to the atmospheric pressure,
which is the value of PR035.
AFTER REPAIRDeal with any faults displayed by the diagnostic tool.
