The on-board literature
The on-board literature for your vehicle consists of this “ Owner's
Manual” as well as a “ Service plan”, “Te c h n i c a l d a ta ” and a
“Travelling assistant ”. There can also be a variety of other addi-
tional operating manuals and instructions on-board (e.g. an oper-
ating manual for the radio) depending on the vehicle model and
equipment.
If one of the publication s listed above is missing, please contact
a Škoda dealer immediately, where one will be glad to assist you
in such matters.
One should note that the details given in the vehicle's
papers always take precedence over those in the Owner's
Manual.
The Owner's Manual
In addition to information regarding all the controls and equip-
ment, the Owner's Manual also contains important information
regarding care and operation for your safety and also to retain the
value of your vehicle To provide you with valuable tips and aids.
You can learn how how you can operate your vehicle safely,
economically and in an environmentally conscious way.
For safety reasons, please also pay attention to the informa-
tion on accessories, modifications and replacement of parts
⇒ page 194.
The other chapters of the Owner's Manual are also important,
however, for proper treatment of your car - in addition to regular
care and maintenance - helps to retain its value and in many
cases is also one of the requirements for warranty claims. The Service Schedule
contains:
•Vehicle data
•Service intervals
•Overview of the service work
•Service proof
•Confirmation of mobility warranty
•important information on the warranty
The confirmation of the service work carried out is a requirement
for a warranty claim.
Please always present the Service Schedule when you take your
car to a Škoda dealer.
If the Service Schedule is missing or worn, please contact your
Škoda dealer, where your car is serviced regularly. You will
receive a duplicate, in which the previously carried out service
work are confirmed.
Assistance in Europe
contains the addresses and telephone numbers of Škoda
Importers.
Technical Data
includes the most important identification data of your vehicle.

Driving the safe way
Passive safety measures reduce the risk of injury in acci-
dent situations.
In this section you will find important information, tips and notes on the
subject of passive safety in your vehicle. We have combined everything
here which you should be familiar with, for example, regarding seat belts,
airbags, child seats and safety of children. It is therefore important, in
particular, to comply with the notes and warnings in this section for your
own interest and in the interest of all those travelling with you.
The information provided in this section applies to all models of your type
of vehicle. It is also possible that equipment is described here which does
not necessarily apply to your vehicle.
Requirements for maximum safety
It is important that you comply with the following requirements in order to
ensure that the seat belts and the airbag systems offer you and the occu-
pants of your vehicle maximum protection:
•front seats correctly adjusted ⇒page 63
•head restraints adjusted to match your body size ⇒page 65
•seat belts correctly fastened and adjusted ⇒page 115
•adopting a correct seated position
WARNING
Please do not forget to give the new owner the complete vehicle
documentation, if you sell your vehicle, including the service
schedule and documents relating to the possible deactivation of
airbags.

Vehicle data sticker
The vehicle data sticker ⇒fig. 169 is located on the floor of the luggage
compartment and is also stated in the Service Schedule.
The vehicle data sticker contains the following vehicle data:
Vehicle identification number
Vehicle type
Gearbox code, paint number, interior equipment number, engine
output, engine code
Optional equipment Vehicle identification number (vehicle body number)
The vehicle identification number is stamped into the engine compartment
on the right hand shock absorber dome. This number is also located on
the lower left hand edge below the windscreen.
Engine number
The engine number is stamped into the engine block.
Ty p e p l at e
The type plate is located in the engine compartment at the front on the left
hand shock absorber dome. Vehicles for certain countries do not have a
type plate.
Homologation sign
The homologation sign is located on the lock carrier. Vehicles for certain
countries do not have an homologation sign.
Stickers on inside of fuel filler flap
The stickers are affixed to the inside of the fuel filler flap
⇒page 169. The
vehicle data sticker contains the following data:
•The prescribed types of fuel
•Tyre size
•Tyre pressure
