5V2 : INSPECTION OF AIRBAG WARNING
LIGHT
1) Turn ignition switch ªOFFº and connect body
harness connector (B31) to test connector A con-
nector (1A).

2) Connect battery ground cable and turn ignition
switch ªONº, (engine off) and connect connectors
(3A) and (4A).

:Does the airbag warning light come
off?
: Go to step5V4.
: Go to step5V3.5V3 : INSPECTION OF BODY HARNESS
Check body harness.
NOTE:
After problem has been eliminated, disconnect
connectors (3A) and (4A).

:Is there anything unusual to body
harness?
: Repair body harness.
: Replace airbag warning light bulb
printed circuit.
5V4 : CHECK POOR CONTACT IN CON-
NECTOR (AB6).
Check connector (AB6) connected to airbag con-
trol module.
:Is there poor contact in connector
(AB6)?
: Repair poor contact in connector (AB6).
: Go to step5V5.

5W3 : AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT MODULE
(IN COMBINATION METER) INSPEC-
TION
1) Turn ignition switch ªOFFº, disconnect battery
ground cable and then wait at least 20 seconds.
2) Disconnect body harness connector (B31) from
connector (AB1) located at front pillar lower (driver
side).

3) Connect battery ground cable and turn ignition
switch ªONº (engine off) to make sure airbag warn-
ing light illuminates.

:Does the airbag warning light come
on?
: Go to step5W4.
: Replace airbag warning light bulb
printed circuit.5W4 : AIRBAG MAIN HARNESS INSPEC-
TION
1) Turn ignition switch ªOFFº, disconnect battery
ground cable and then wait at least 20 seconds.
2) Connect body harness connector (B31) and
connector (AB1).
3) Disconnect connector (AB6) from airbag control
module.
4) Connect battery ground cable and turn ignition
switch ªONº to make sure airbag warning light illu-
minates.
:Does the airbag warning light come
on?
: Replace airbag control module.
: Replace airbag main harness.

1. BASIC DIAGNOSTICS PROCEDURE
3G11 : DRIVE AT CRUISE SPEED.
:Can cruise speed be set?
: Go to ªCHECK INDICATOR AND CIR-
CUIT IN CRUISE CONTROL MAIN
SWITCHº.
: Go to ªCHECK CRUISE CONTROL
MAIN SWITCHº.
2. CHECK INDICATOR AND CIRCUIT IN CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH
DIAGNOSIS:
IBulb failure or open harness of the indicator circuit in the cruise control main switch.
TROUBLE SYMPTOM:
ICruise control can be set, normally indicator does not come on. (When main switch is pressed.)

SWITCH.
1) Remove cruise control main switch.
2) Measure resistance between cruise control
main switch terminals.
Terminals
No. 1 Ð No. 6:

:Is resistance between 10 and 80W?
: Go to step3G22.
: Replace switch illumination bulb.
3G22 : CHECK CIRCUIT BETWEEN CRUISE
CONTROL MODULE AND CRUISE
CONTROL MAIN SWITCH INDICA-
TOR LIGHT.
1) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
2) Turn cruise control main switch to ON.
3) Measure voltage between cruise control main
switch connector and the chassis ground.
Connector & terminal
(B161) No. 1 (+) Ð Chassis ground (þ):

:Is voltage more than 10 V?
: Go to step3G23.
: Repair or replace wiring harness.3G23 : CHECK CIRCUIT BETWEEN CRUISE
CONTROL MODULE AND CRUISE
CONTROL MAIN SWITCH INDICA-
TOR LIGHT.
1) Turn the ignition switch and cruise control main
switch to OFF.
2) Remove the connector from the cruise control
main switch.
3) Measure resistance of ground circuit between
the cruise control main switch connector and chas-
sis ground.
Connector & terminal
(B161) No. 6 (+) Ð Chassis ground (þ):

:Is resistance less than 10W?
: Replace cruise control module.
: Repair or replace wiring harness.

4F28 : CHECK RESISTANCE BETWEEN
HORN RELAY AND KEYLESS
ENTRY CONTROL MODULE.
1) Disconnect connector from main fuse box and
keyless entry control module.
2) Measure resistance between keyless entry con-
trol module connector (B176) and main fuse box
connector (F37).
Connector & terminal
(B176) No. 12 Ð (F37) No. 4:

:Is the resistance less than 10W?
: Replace keyless entry control module.
: Repair wiring harness between main
fuse box and keyless entry control mod-
ule.
3. DIAGNOSTICS ITEM 2
4F31 : CHECK FUSE.
Remove and visually check the fuse No. 2 (in main
fuse box).
:Is fuse No. 2 blown?
: Replace fuse (15 A).
: Go to step4F32.
4F32 : CHECK ROOM LIGHT BULB.
Remove and visually check the room light bulb.
:Is the bulb blown?
: Replace bulb.
: Go to step4F33.
4F33 : CHECK ROOM LIGHT SWITCH.
1) Remove room light.
2) Measure resistance of room light switch termi-
nal at the middle position.
Terminals
No. 2 Ð No. 3:

:Is the resistance less than 1W?
: Repair or replace room light.
: Go to step4F34.

2) Connect the white connector (1-pin) at driver
side front lower pillar.

5F117 : CHECK PASSIVE ARM.
1) Remove the driver's side sill cover.
2) Connect the white connector (1-pin) at driver
side front lower pillar.
3) Close all doors and the rear gate.
:Does the arming automatically func-
tion after 1 minute?
: Go to step5F118.
: Go to step5 F 111.
5F118 : CHECK BATTERY DISCONNECT
PROTECTION.
1) Press the UNLOCK/DISARM button.
2) Connect the white connector (1-pin) at front pil-
lar lower.
3) Install the driver's side sill cover.
4) Open the front hood.
5) Press the LOCK/ARM button.
6) Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
7) Connect the ground cable to battery.
:Does re-arming function automati-
cally?
: End of basic diagnostics procedure.
Press the UNLOCK/DISARM button,
and then close all doors and the rear
gate. Perform ignition switch position
turned LOCK to ON to LOCK.
: Replace security control module.
2. DIAGNOSTICS ITEM 1
5F21 : CHECK FUSE.
Remove and visually check fuse No. 7 (in main
fuse box).
:Is fuse No. 7 blown?
: Replace fuse (20 A).
: Go to step5F22.
5F22 : CHECK FUSE.
Remove and visually check fuse No. 5 (in fuse
box).
:Is fuse No. 5 blown?
: Replace fuse (10 A).
: Go to step5F23.
5F23 : CHECK CLEARANCE LIGHT BULB.
Remove and visually check each clearance light
bulb.
:Is the bulb blown?
: Replace clearance light bulb.
: Go to step5F24.
5F24 : CHECK POWER SUPPLY FOR
CLEARANCE LIGHT.
Measure voltage between main fuse box connec-
tor (F68) and chassis ground.
Connector & terminal
(F68) No. 4 (+) Ð Chassis ground (þ):

:Is the voltage more than 10 V?
: Go to step5F25.
: Repair wiring harness between main
fuse box and battery.
