Compass setting

1) Press the “ADJ ” switc h for 5 sec ond s or more.
2) Press the “ SET ” or “ ” to ob tain the c orrec t setting .
“ SET ”: “0 ” & “W ”, “5 ” & “E ”, “10 ” & “E ”, ...
“ ”: “10 ” & “W ”  “ 15 ” & “W ”, ...
3) Press the “ADJ ” switc h ag ain to save the setting and return the
system to the orig inal d isp lay.
2. Direction setting
If the vehic le ic on is b linking at any time, the fo llowing ad justment is
req uired to rec alib rate the c omp ass.
NOTE This will happen due to the magnetic field interference as
described previously.

1) Press the “ADJ ” switc h for the c omp ass setting mod e.
NOTE The compass starts blinking in this mode.
This mode can be canceled by pressing the “ADJ” switch
again.
2) Make c ertain that it is safe to d o so and then d r ive the vehic le in a
c irc le until the c omp ass stop s b linking . You may ha ve to c omp lete
more than one c irc le to p erform this c alib ration.

NOTE
When setting is completed, all blinking disappears.
The setting mode is automatically cancelled if the “ADJ”
switch is pressed in the middle of setting or if the setting is not
completed within 2 minutes. The motion indicator bars move in two patterns according to the
vehicle speed.

2. 12.5 mile/h (20 km/h) or more of vehic le sp eed .. . 0.5 sec ond inter-
val b ar motion. NOTE When the vehicle stops, the motion indicator bars will return to
their original position. When the vehicle is driven in reverse, the motion bars move in
the same pattern as when driving forward.

NOTE The reading may change during air-conditioner operation,
door window operation, driving in a tunnel, and so forth. All barometric readings reported in local weather reports are
corrected to a sea-level reading regardless of altitude. The Gauge
Pack displays true local air pressure and hence may differ signifi-cantly from local weather reports (especially at higher altitudes).The barometer is not adjustable. Since air pressure changes with altitude, the barometric read-
ing will vary when the vehicle is moving up or down an incline.For accurate barometric trending, the vehicle should be station-
ary. Altimeter
The altimeter has two mod es, Stand ard elevation mod e and Relative
elevation mod e.

nStandard elevation mode
The “MODE ” switc h c hang es the b arometer to the stand ard eleva tion
mod e of the altimeter.
The altimeter ind ic ates the “sea level ” elevation.
Range : –660 to 9200 ft ( –200 to 2800 m) at a p itc h of 20 ft or 10 m in
metric measurement units.Adjustment : In ord er to g et a p rec ise elevation, manually c or rec t the
altimeter when the c urrent elevation is known.
“ SET ”: 20 ft inc rease or 10 m inc rease in metric measure ment units.
“ ”: 20 ft d ec rease or 10 m d ec rease in metric measure ment units.

The indication may change during air-conditioner operation,
door window operation, driving in a tunnel, and so forth. Adjustable elevation is 780 ft ( 300 m).
To cancel the adjustment and return to the default altimeter
reading, press the “ SET” and “ ” switch together for 1 second
or more. n Relative elevation mode

The altimeter ind ic ates the relative elevation.
1. The “MODE ” switc h c hang es the stand ard elevation mod e to the
relative elevation mod e.
2. Press the “ SET ” switc h for the “0 ” ft ” ( “0 m ”) setting .
3. The d isp lay shows the c urrent elevation relative to the starting
elevation. Range : up to 9800 ft (3000 m) at a p itc h of 20 ft (5 m)

Outside temperature gauge

The ind ic ation shows the outsid e temp erature. NOTE Indication range: –40F to 140  F ( –40 C to 60 C)
If the temperature is beyond the range, the maximum number is shown.
Luggage cover (Wagon only)
WARNING
Do not place anything on the extended cover. Putting excessiveweight on the extended cover can break it and an object on the
cover could tumble forward in the event of a sudden stop or colli-
sion. This could cause serious injury.
CAUTION
Be careful not to scratch the rear gate stay when using the lug-
gage cover.The scratch on the stay could cause the rear gate to incompleteopening.

Using the cover

To extend the c over, p ull the end of the c over out of the c over hous-
ing , then insert its hooks into the c atc hes as show n. To rewind it, un-
hook it from the c atc hes and it will rewind automat ic ally. You should
hold on to the c over and g uid e it b ac k into the c ov er housing while it
is rewind ing . To remove the cover housing

1. Rewind the c over.
2. Pull either sleeve on the end of the c over housin g to shorten its
leng th.

3. Take it off the retainer.
4. Store the c over housing in the c arg o area.
To install the cover housing
1. Pull either sleeve on the end of the c over housin g to shorten the
c over ’s leng th.
2. Insert the p rojec tions loc ated on the b oth end s o f the sleeve into
the rec esses of the retainers.
Shopping bag hook (Wagon only)

The shop p ing b ag hook is attac hed to the left sid e of the c arg o area. You
c an hook a lig ht shop p ing b ag or something similar on it.
Cargo anchorage eyelets (if equipped)
CAUTION
The cargo anchorage eyelets are designed only for securing light cargo. Never try to secure the cargo which weights more than theload capacity of the anchorage eyelets. The maximum load
capacity is about 44 lbs (20 kg) per eyelet.

When using the anc horag e eyelets, raise them up fro m und er the c utouts
of the lug g ag e c omp artment mat. When not in use, p u t the eyelets d own
into the storing rec esses.
