When trouble arises
Master warning light
The master warning light also
comes on or flashes in order to
indicate that a message is cur-
rently being displayed on the multi-
information display.
Multi-information display
If any of the warning light comes on again after the following actions
have been performed, contact any authorized Toyota dealer or
repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped professional.
A buzzer sounds and a warning message is shown on the multi-infor-
mation display. The following warning indicates the possibility of dam-
age to the vehicle that may lead to an accident. Immediately stop the
vehicle in a safe place and contact any authorized Toyota dealer or
repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped professional.
If a warning message is displayed (vehicles
with a multi-infor mation display)
If a warning is shown on the multi-information display, stay calm
and perform the following actions:

A buzzer sounds and a warning message is shown on the multi-infor-
mation display. Failure to investigate the cause of the following warn-
ings may lead to the system operating abnormally and possibly cause
an accident. Have the vehicle inspected by any authorized Toyota
dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped profes-
sional.
Indicates abnormal engine oil pressure
The warning light may come on if the engine oil
pressure is too low.
Indicates a malfunction in the vehicle’s charging
system.
• Indicates that the engine is almost overheat-
ing. (hybrid model) (P. 687)
• The power control unit may be overheating.

Have the vehicle inspected immediately.

vate the system, and then press the button
again to reactivate the system.

Indicates that the speed limiter system is mal-
functioning. (if equipped)
A buzzer also sounds.
Indicates a malfunction in the P position control
system. (hybrid model)
• In this situation, there is a possibility that the
parking lock mechanism will not work.
When parking, park the vehicle on a flat sur-
face and apply the parking brake securely.
Also, it may not be possible to turn the power
switch off. If this happens, applying the park-
ing brake will enable the switch to be turned
off.
• A buzzer also sounds.
Indicates a malfunction in the Toyota parking
assist-sensor (if equipped)
• The malfunctioning assist-sensor is flashing.
• A buzzer also sounds.

A buzzer sounds and a warning message is shown on the multi-infor-
mation display. After taking the specified steps to correct the sus-
pected problem, check that the warning message and light goes off.
Follow the correction procedures.

DPF catalytic con-
verter needs to be
cleaned due to
repeated short trips
and/or low-speed
driving.
• Indicates that the
amount of accumu-
lated deposits in
the DPF catalytic
converter has
reached the speci-
fied level.
To clean with DPF cata-
lytic converter, drive the
vehicle at a speed of 65
km/h (40 mph) or
greater for 20 to 30
minutes as much as
possible until the mes-
sage goes off.
Do not turn off the
engine as much as
possible until the mes-
sage goes off.
If it is not possible to
drive the vehicle at
speeds of 65 km/h (40
mph) or greater, or the
DPF system warning
light does not turn off
even after driving for
more than 30 minutes,
have the vehicle
inspected by any
authorized Toyota
dealer or repairer, or
another duly qualified
and equipped profes-
sional.
Indicate that the
amount of accumu-
lated water in the fuel
filter has reached the
specified level.

To clean with DPF cata-
lytic converter, drive the
vehicle at a speed of 65
km/h (40 mph) or
greater for 20 to 30
minutes as much as
possible until the mes-
sage goes off.

If it is not possible to
drive the vehicle at
speeds of 65 km/h (40
mph) or greater, or the
