Adjust the angle of the seat- 
back so that you are sitting 
straight up and so that you do 
not have to lean forward to 
steer. ( P. 194) 
Adjust the seat so that you can 
depress the pedals fully and so 
that your arms bend slightly at 
the elbow when gripping the
steering wheel. ( P. 194) 
Lock the head restraint in place with the center of the head restraint 
closest to the top of your ears. ( P. 199) 
Wear the seat belt correctly. ( P.  3 4 ) 
Make sure that all occupants are wearing their seat belts before driv- 
ing the vehicle. ( P.  3 4 ) 
Use a child restraint system appropriate for the child until the child 
becomes large enough to properly wear the vehicle’s seat belt.

Make sure that you can see backward clearly by adjusting the inside 
and outside rear view mirrors properly. ( P. 205, 207)
For safe driving, adjust the seat and mirror to an appropriate 
position before driving.

*: These symbols are displayed along with a message. Also, the symbol dis-
plays listed here are only an example, and different symbols may be dis-
played according to the contents of the multi-information display.
■BSM (Blind Spot Monitor) outside rear view mirror indicators 
(if equipped) (P. 356)
• When the BSM function is enabled on the   screen of the multi-infor-
mation display, the power switch is turned to ON mode.
If the system is functioning correctly, the BSM outside rear view mirror indi-
cators will turn off after a few seconds.
If the BSM outside rear view mirror indicators do not illuminate or do not
turn off, there may be a malfunction in the system.
If this occurs, have the vehicle inspected by any authorized Toyota retailer
or Toyota authorized repairer, or any reliable repairer.

Inside rear view mirror
The height of the rear view mirror can be adjusted to suit your driving
posture.
Adjust the height of the rear view
mirror by moving it up and down.
Manual anti-glare inside rear view mirror
Reflected light from the headlights of vehicles behind can be reduced
by operating the lever.
Normal position
Anti-glare position
The rear view mirror’s position can be adjusted to enable suffi-
cient confirmation of the rear view.
