AdBlue® (Diesel)On for around 30 seconds on switching on the ignition, accompanied by an audible signal and a message indicating the remaining driving range.
The remaining driving range is between 500 miles (800 km) and 1,500 miles (2,400 km).
Top up the AdBlue®.You can add up to 10 litres of AdBlue® to its tank.
Fixed, on switching on the ignition, accompanied by an audible signal and a message indicating the remaining driving range.
The remaining driving range is between approximately 60 miles (100 km) and 500 miles (800 km).
As soon as possible, top up the AdBlue®.You can add up to 10 litres of AdBlue® to its tank.
Flashing, accompanied by an audible signal and a message indicating the remaining driving range.
The driving range is less than approximately 60 miles (100 km).You must top up the AdBlue® to avoid running out.You can add up to 10 litres of AdBlue® to its tank.
Flashing, accompanied by an audible signal and a message indicating that starting is prevented.
The AdBlue® tank is empty: the starting inhibition system required by legislation prevents starting of the engine.
To be able to start the engine, you must top up the AdBlue®.It is essential to add at least 4 litres of AdBlue® to its tank.

AdBlue® fluid range
indicators
Once the AdBlue® tank is on reser ve or after detection of a fault with the SCR emissions control system, when the ignition is switched on, an indicator displays an estimate of the distance that can be covered, the range, before engine starting is prevented. In the event of simultaneous system fault and low AdBlue® level, the shortest range figure is the one displayed.
In the event of the risk of non-starting related to a lack of AdBlue®
The engine start prevention system required by regulations is activated automatically once the AdBlue® tank is e m pt y.
Remaining range greater than 1 500 miles (2 400 km)
Pressing this button will display the remaining range.
F Then select "Diagnostic".
Above 3 000 miles (5 000 km), the value is not specified.
When switching on the ignition, there is no automatic display of range in the instrument panel.
The range is then displayed temporarily.
You can access this information in the touch screen, if your vehicle has one.
F Select the "Driving" menu.
F Select "OPTIONS".
Remaining range between 1,500 and 500 miles (2,400 and 800 km)
For more information on AdBlue® and the SCR system, and in particular on topping-up the AdBlue®, refer to the corresponding section.
When switching on the ignition, this warning lamp comes on for about thirty seconds, accompanied by the display of a message (Top up AdBlue: Starting impossible in x miles/km)
indicating the remaining range expressed in miles or kilometres.
The reser ve level has been reached; it is recommended that you top up as soon as possible. These messages are accompanied by the recommendation not to top up with more than 10 litres of AdBlue.

Breakdown related to a lack of AdBlue®
When switching on the ignition, this warning lamp flashes, accompanied by an audible signal and the display of the message "Top up emissions additive: Starting prevented".
The AdBlue® tank is empty: the system required by regulations prevents engine starting.
To be able to start the engine, we recommend that you call on an authorized Toyota dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped professional for the top-up required. If you carry out the top-up yourself, it is essential to add at least 3.8 litres of AdBlue® to the tank.
For more information on AdBlue® and the SCR system, and in particular on topping-up the AdBlue®, refer to the corresponding section.
Remaining range between 500 and 60 miles (800 and 100 km)Remaining range less than 60 miles (10 0 km)
When switching on the ignition, this warning lamp comes on, accompanied by an audible signal (1 beep) and the display of a message (Top up AdBlue: Starting impossible in x miles/km) indicating the remaining range expressed in miles or kilometres.
When driving, the audible signal and the message display are triggered every 60 miles (100 km) until the level is topped up.
It is essential to top up as soon as possible and before the tank is completely empty, other wise it will not be possible to restart the engine.

AdBlue® and SCR system
for Diesel engines
To assure respect for the environment and conformity with the new Euro 6 emissions standard, without adversely affecting the per formance or fuel consumption of Diesel engines, Toyota has taken the decision to equip its vehicles with an effective system that associates SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) with a particle filter (DPF) for the treatment of exhaust gases.
Presentation of the SCR system
Using a fluid called AdBlue® containing urea, a catalytic converter turns up to 85% of nitrogen oxides (NOx) into nitrogen and water, which are harmless to health and the environment.
The AdBlue® is held in a special tank with a capacity of: - Euro 5.0: about 22 litres, this provides a driving range of about 10 500 miles (17 000 km); - Euro 6.2: about 20 litres, will cover a driving range of approximately 4 fill ups of fuel, about 3 000 miles (5 000 km); after which an alert is triggered warning you when the reser ve remaining is enough for just 1 500 miles (2 400 km).
During each scheduled ser vice of your vehicle by an authorized Toyota dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped professional, the AdBlue® tank is refilled in order to allow normal operation of the SCR system.
Once the AdBlue® tank is empty, a system required by regulations prevents starting of the engine. If the SCR is faulty, the level of emissions from your vehicle will no longer meet the Euro 6 standard: your vehicle becomes polluting. In the event of a confirmed fault with the SCR system, you must go to an authorized Toyota dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped professional as soon as possible: after a running distance of 650 miles (1 100 km), a system will be triggered automatically to prevent engine starting. When filling the tank, the filling rate must not exceed 40 litres per minute.
If the estimated mileage between two ser vices is greater than 12 500 miles (20 000 km) for Euro 5.0 or more than 4 fill ups of fuel, about 3 000 miles (5 000 km) for Euro 6.2, we recommend that you go to an authorized Toyota dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped professional to have the necessary top-up carried out.
Please contact your authorized Toyota dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped professional to confirm your "Euro" emissions standard.
