Using the key, the doors will operate as specified below.
▶Vehicles without key-free system
a Locking all the doors
b Unlocking all the doors
▶Vehicles with key-free system
You can lock and unlock the doors using the emergency key. ( ➞P. 406)
⬛Inside lock button
a Locking the doors
b Unlocking the doors
⦁When you unlock (or lock) the
driver’s door, all the doors will be
unlocked (or locked).
⦁ Even when the inside lock button of
the driver’s door is set to the locked
side, pulling the door handle inside
the vehicle will unlock all the doors
and open the driver’s door.

Back door
The back door can be locked, unlocked and opened in the following
procedures:

Unlocking and locking the back door from the outside
⬛Key-free system✽
Operate this system when you have
the electronic key with you.
a Locking all the doors
Make sure that the doors have been
locked.
bUnlocking all the doors
The back door will open.
The doors cannot be unlocked after
approximately 3 seconds from being
locked.

While holding down the back door
opener switch, lift the back door
The back door cannot be closed for
approximately 1 second after the back
door opener switch is pressed.

If you have a problem, check the following before contacting your
Toyota dealer.
The doors cannot be locked, unlocked, opened or closed
You have lost your keys
⚫If you have lost keys or emergency keys✽, new genuine keys or an emer-
gency key
✽ can be made at your Toyota dealer. ( ➞P. 119)
⚫If you lose your keys or electronic keys✽, the risk of theft is extremely
high, so contact your Toyota dealer immediately. ( ➞P. 120)
The doors cannot be locked and unlocked
⚫Is the key battery weak or depleted? ( ➞P. 344)
⚫Vehicles with key-free system
Isn’t the engine switch “ON”?
When locking the doors, turn th e engine switch to “OFF”. (➞P. 185)
⚫Vehicles with key-free system
Isn’t the electronic key left inside the vehicle?
When locking the doors, make sure that you have the electronic key on
your person.
⚫Vehicles with key-free system
The feature may not operate properly due to the condition of the radio
wave. ( ➞P. 125)
The rear door cannot be opened
⚫Isn’t the child-protector lock set?
When the child-protector lock is se t, the rear door cannot be opened
from inside the vehicle.
Open the rear door from outside and then unlock the child-protector
lock. ( ➞P. 135)
