➞ Steering wheel operation becomes heavy. Restrain from
operating the steering wheel fo r a short while. When about
10 minutes has passed, it will return to its usual weight.

*1Low brake fluid level warning buzzer:
The warning buzzer sounds when the vehicle has reached a speed of 5 km/h
(3 mph) or more while the warning light is on. If the buzzer sounds, the brake
fluid may be low.
*2Electric power steering system warning light (yellow):
If it does not turn off, or if it turns on repeatedly, have it inspected at your Toy-
ota dealer.
*3Open door warning light:
The open doors and/or hood are displa yed to the multi-information display
✽.
*4Open door warning buzzer:
The buzzer sounds when at least one of the doors or the hood of the vehicle is
not completely closed and the vehicle’s speed exceeds 5 km/h (3.1 mph).
Tire pressure warning light✽
When the light comes on:
Low tire inflation pressure such as
⦁Natural causes (➞P. 384)
⦁Flat tire ( ➞P. 396)
➞ Adjust the tire inflation pressure (including the spare tire) to
the specified level.
➞ The light will turn off after a few minutes. In case the light
does not turn off even if th e tire inflation pressure is
adjusted, have the system checked by your Toyota dealer.
When the light comes on af ter blinking for 1 minute:

*5Driver’s/front passenger’s seat belt reminder warning buzzer:
If the vehicle speed becomes approx. 20 km/h (12 mph) or faster when the
driver’s/front passenger’s seat belt is unfastened, the warning buzzer will
sound intermittently for 30 seconds. Th en, if the driver’s/front passenger’s
seat belt is still unfastened, the buzzer w ill sound in a different tone for 90 sec-
onds.
*6Passenger detection sensor for front pa ssenger’s seat belt reminder warning
light:
If luggage is placed on the front passenger’s seat, the front passenger detec-
tion sensor may cause the warning light to flash even if a passenger is not sit-
ting in the seat.
If a cushion is placed on the seat, the sensor may not detect a passenger, and
the warning light may not operate properly.
*7A warning is displayed to the upper pa rt of the inside rear view mirror.
*8Rear seat belt reminder warning light:
The rear seat belt reminder light come s on when the engine switch is turned
“ON” with the rear seat belt not fastened, or when the rear seat belt is unfas-
tened.
The light turns off when the rear seat belt is fastened or approx. 60 seconds
(approx. 30 seconds if the warning buzz er is sounding) after the vehicle is
driven at the vehicle speed of appr ox. 20 km/h (12 mph) or faster.
The light also turns on when a rear do or is opened and closed while the rear
seat belt is unfastened at approx. 5 km/h (3 mph) or slower.
*9Rear seat belt reminder warning buzzer:
When any of the rear seat passengers un fasten their seat belt when the vehi-
cle speed is approx. 20 km/h (12 mph) or faster, the buzzer will continue to
sound for approx. 30 seconds. Once the warning buzzer starts sounding, it
will continue to sound for approx. 30 seconds even the vehicle is traveling at
approx. 20 km/h (12 mph) or slower.
The buzzer will stop when the rear seat belt is fastened or a rear door is
opened and closed while the vehicle is traveling at approx. 5 km/h (3 mph) or
slower.
*10Parking brake non-release warning buzzer:
The warning buzzer sounds when the vehicle speed reaches approx. 5 km/h
(3 mph) or faster with the parking brake being applied.

WARNING
⬛When the electric power steering system warning light comes on
When the light comes on yellow, the assist to the power steering is restricted.
When the light comes on red, the assist to the power steering is lost and han-
dling operations of the steering wheel become extremely heavy. When steer-
ing wheel operations are heavier than us ual, grip the steering wheel firmly and
operate it using more force than usual.
⬛If the tire pressure warning light comes on (vehicles with a tire pressure
warning system)
Be sure to observe the following precaut ions. Failure to do so could cause a
loss of vehicle control and result in death or serious injury.
⚫Stop your vehicle in a safe place as soon as possible. Adjust the tire inflation
pressure immediately.
⚫If the tire pressure warning light come s on even after tire inflation pressure
adjustment, it is probable that you have a flat tire. Check the tires. If a tire is
flat, change it with the spare tire and ha ve the flat tire repaired by the near-
est Toyota dealer.
⚫Avoid abrupt maneuvering and braking. If the vehicle tires deteriorate, you
could lose control of the steering wheel or the brakes.
⬛If a blowout or sudden air leakage sh ould occur (vehicles with a tire
pressure warning system)
The tire pressure warning system may not activate immediately.

⬛To ensure the tire pressure warning system✽ operates properly
Do not install tires with different specif ications or makers, as the tire pressure
warning system may not operate properly.

⬛Warning message display
⚫By pressing the RETURN switch when the engine switch is “ON”, the warning
message will disappear.
⚫Even when you hide the warning message by pressing the RETURN switch,
the following warning messages wi ll appear in a few seconds.
⦁ Low brake fluid
⦁ Brake system malfunction
⦁ Charging system malfunction
⦁ Low engine oil pressure
⦁ High temperature of engine coolant
⬛When the “Open” warning message is displayed
To avoid battery discharge, the message will automatically disappear after
approx. 10 minutes with the door open when the engine switch is “ACC” or
“OFF”.
