The volume of the Mobile
Assistant can be adjusted
using the “POWER VOLUME”
knob or steering wheel vol-
ume control switches. The
Mobile Assistant and phone
call volumes are synchro-
nized.
●While a phone call is active, the
Mobile Assistan t cannot be used.
●If using the navig ation feature of
the cellular phone, ensure the
active audio source is Bluetooth
®
audio or iPod in order to hear turn
by turn direction prompts.
●Wait for the listening beeps before
using the Mobile Assistant.
●The Mobile Assistant may not rec-
ognize commands in the following
situations:
• Spoken too quickly.
• Spoken at a low or high volume.
• The roof or windows are open.
• Passengers are talking while the Mobile Assistan t is being used.
• The fan speed of the air condition-
ing system is set at high.
• The air conditioning vents are
turned toward the microphone.

■Steering switch
By pressing the phone switch, a
call can be received or ended
without taking your hands off the
steering wheel.
Phone switch
• If the switch is pressed during a call, the call will end.
• If the switch is pressed when an incoming call is r eceived, the call
will be answered.
• If the switch is pressed during a call when a separate incoming
call is waiting, the waiting call will
be answered.
• If the switch is pressed when an Apple CarPlay/Android Auto con-
nection is established, the Apple
CarPlay/Android Auto phone
application will be displayed on
the system screen.
Volume control switch
• Press the “+” side to increase the volume.
• Press the “-” side to decrease the volume.
■Microphone
The microphone is used when
talking on the phone.
●The other party’s voice will be
heard from the front speakers.
The audio/vis ual system will be
muted during phone calls or when
hands-free voice commands are
used.
●Talk alternately with the other
party on the phone. If both parties
speak at the same time, the other
party may not hear what has been
said. (This is not a malfunction.)
●Keep call volume down. Other-
wise, the other party’s voice may
be audible outside the vehicle and
voice echo may increase. When
talking on the phone, speak
clearly towards the microphone.
●The other party may not hear you
clearly when:
• Driving on an unpaved road.
(Making excessive traffic noise.)
• Driving at high speeds.
• The roof or windows are open.
• The air conditioning vents are pointed towards the microphone.
• The sound of the air conditioning fan is loud.
• There is a negative effect on
sound quality due to the phone
and/or network being used.

■Bottle holders
●When storing a bottle, close the
cap.
●The bottle may not be stored
depending on its size or shape.

holders
Do not place anything other than
cups or beverage cans in the cup
holders.
Inappropriate items must not be
stored in the cup holders even if
the lid is closed.
Other items may be thrown out of
the holders in the event of an
accident or sudden braking and
cause injury. If possible, cover hot
drinks to prevent burns.

When taking out the tools, the
deck board can be set upright.
When the back surface (resin sur-
face) of the deck board is facing up,
flip it back to the original position.

2 Place the edge into the
groove ( ), and with the
deck board in a standing
state, put the edge into the
holes ( ).

■When operating the deck
board
Do not place anything on the deck
board when operating the board.
Otherwise, your fingers may be
caught or an accident may result
causing injuries.

■Removing the luggage
cover
1 Release the cover from the
left and right anchors and
allow it to retract.
2 Compress the end of the lug-
gage cover and lift the lug-
gage cover up.
■Stowing the luggage cover
1 Open the rear deck board
and remove the side deck
covers.
When the back surface (resin sur-
face) of the deck board is facing up, remove the deck board.

Place the both ends of the
luggage cover into the
holder.

■Luggage cover
●When installing/stowing the lug-
gage cover, make sure that the
luggage cover is securely
installed/stowed. Failure to do
so may result in serious injury in
the event of sudden braking or a
collision.
●Do not place anything on the
luggage cover. In the event of
sudden braking or turning, the
item may go flying and strike an
occupant. This could lead to an
unexpected accident, resulting
in death or serious injury.
●Do not allow children to climb
on the luggage cover. Climbing
on the luggage cover could
result in damage to the luggage
cover, possibly causing death or
serious injury to the child.

charger will move toward it and
start charging. If the charging coil
inside a portable device moves
outside of the charge area,
charging will automatically stop.
If 2 or more porta ble devices are
placed on the charging tray, their
charging coils may not be prop-
erly detected and they may not
be charged.
■Using the wireless charger
1 Press the power supply
switch of the wireless char-
ger.
Switches on and off with each
press of the power supply switch.
When turned on, the operation indi-
cator light (green) comes on.
Even with the engi ne off, the on/off
state of the power supply switch is
memorized.
2 Place the portable device on
the charging tray
Place the charging side of the por-
table device down with the center of
the device in the center of the
charge area.
When charging, the operation indi-
cator light (orange) comes on.
If charging is not occurring, try plac-
ing the portable device as close to
the center of the charging area as
possible.
When charging is complete, the
operation indicator light (green) comes on.
■Recharging function
 When charging is complete
and after a fixed time in the
charge suspension state,
charging restarts.
 When the portable device is
moved, charging is stopped
for a moment and then it
restarts.
■Rapid charging function
 The following portable
devices support rapid
charging.
• Portable devices compliant with
WPC Ver1.2.4 a nd compatible
with rapid charging
• iPhone’s with an iOS version that supports 7.5 W c harging (iPhone
8 and later models)
 To switch to the rapid
charging function, press the
power supply switch 3 times
while charging. When rapid
charging is possible, the oper-
ation indicator light will switch
from orange to flashing
between green and orange.
 When charging is complete,
the rapid charging function

■Situations in which the func-
tion may not operate normally
Devices may not be charged nor-
mally in the following situations.
●The portable device is fully
charged
●The portable device is being
charged with a cable connected
●There is foreign matter between
the charge area and portable
device
●Charging has caused the porta-
ble device to heat up
●The temperature around the
charging tray is 95°F (35°C) or
higher, such as in extreme heat
●The portable device is placed
with its charging side facing up
●The portable device is placed in
an area misaligned from the
charge area
●The portable device is larger
than the charging tray
●A foldable and portable device
is placed outside the charge
area
●The vehicle is in an area where
strong electrical waves or noise
are emitted, such as near a tele-
vision tower, power plant, gaso-
line station, broadcasting
station, large display, airport,
etc.
●Any of the following objects that
is 0.08 in (2 mm) or thicker is
between the charging side of
the portable device and the
charge area
• A card that has metal on it, such as aluminum foil, etc.
• A pack of cigarettes that includes aluminum foil
• A wallet or bag that is made of metal
• Coins
• A heating pad
• CDs, DVDs or other media
• A metal accessory
• A case or cover made of metal
●Electric wave type wireless
remote controls are being used
nearby
●2 or more portable devices are
placed on the charging tray at
the same time
If charging is abnormal or the
operation indicator light contin-
ues to flash for any other reason,
the wireless char ger may be mal-
functioning. Contact your Toyota
dealer.
■To prevent malfunctions and
data corruptions
●When charging, bringing a
credit, or other magnetic card,
or magnetic storage media
close to the charge area may
clear any stored data due to
magnetic influence. Also, do not
bring a wristwatch or other pre-
cision instrument close to the
charge area since doing so may
cause it to malfunction.

information concerning recy-
cling or disposal.

To prevent the engine cover from
being damaged, remove any
engine oil from the engine cover
as soon as possible using a neu-
tral detergent. Do not use an
organic solvent such as brake
cleaner.
