Installing child restraints
Child restraint LATCH anchors
LATCH anchors are provided for all of the second seats. (Buttons display-
ing the location of the anchors are attached to the seats.)
Seat belts equipped with a child
restraint locking mechanism
(ALR/ELR belts except driver’s
seat belt) ( P. 34)
Follow the child restraint system manufacturer’s instructions.
Firmly secure child restraints to the seats using the LATCH
(Lower Anchors and Tethers for Ch ildren) anchors or a seat belt.
Attach the top tether strap when installing a child restraint.
The lap/shoulder belt can be used if your child restraint syste m
is not compatible wi th the LATCH system.

*1: These lights turn on when the engine switch is turned to ON to indicate thata system check is being performed. They will turn off after the engine is
started, or after a few seconds. There may be a malfunction in a system if
the lights do not come on, or do not turn off. Have the vehicle inspected by
your Toyota dealer.
*2: The light illuminates on the multi-information display.
*3: The light comes on to indicate a malfunction.

*1: These lights turn on when the engine switch is turned to ON to indicate thata system check is being performed. They will turn off after the engine is
started, or after a few seconds. There may be a malfunction in a system if
the lights do not come on, or do not turn off. Have the vehicle inspected by
your Toyota dealer.
*2: This light illuminates on the multi-information display.
*3: The light flashes to indicate that the system is operating.
*4: In order to confirm operation, the BSM outside rear view mirro r indicators
illuminate in the following situations:
• When the engine switch is turned to ON, the BSM function is en abled on
the screen of the multi-information display.
• When the BSM function is enabled on the screen of the multi-infor- mation display, the engine switch is turned to ON.
If the system is functioning correctly, the BSM outside rear vi ew mirror
indicators will turn off after a few seconds.
If the BSM outside rear view mirror indicators do not illuminat e or do not
turn off, there may be a malfunction in the system.
If this occurs, have the vehicle inspected by your Toyota deale r.

Gauges and meters
Tachometer
Displays the engine speed in revolutions per minute
Engine oil pressure gauge
Displays the engine oil pressure
Outside temperature display
Displays the outside temperature within the range of -40 °F (-40 °C) to
122 °F (50 °C). Low outside temperature indicator comes on when the
ambient temperature is 37 ° F (3 °C) or lower.
Multi-information display
Presents the driver with a variety of vehicle data ( P. 98)
Displays warning messages in case of a malfunction ( P. 481)

Displays the total distance the vehicle has been driven.

Displays the distance the vehicl e has been driven since the met er
was last reset. Trip meters A and B can be used to record and d is-
play different distances independently.

The brightness of the instrument panel lights can be adjusted.
Pressing the button will adjust
brightness of the instrument panel
light.
Short press: 1 step change of
brightness level.
Long press: continues change of
brightness level until released.
■ The meters and display illuminate when
The engine switch is in ON.
■ Instrument panel bri ghtness adjustment
When the tail lights are turned on, the display’s brightness will be reduced
slightly unless the meter brightness level adjustment is set to the brightest
setting.
■ Outside temperature display
●In the following situations, the correct outside temperature ma y not be dis-
played, or the display may take longer than normal to change.
• When stopped, or driving at low speeds (less than 12 mph [20 k m/h])
• When the outside temperature has changed suddenly (at the entr ance/
exit of a garage, tunnel, etc.)
● When “--” or “E” is displayed, the system may be malfunctioning. Take your
vehicle to your Toyota dealer.
■ Liquid crystal display
Small spots or light spots may appear on the display. This phen omenon is
characteristic of liquid crystal displays, and there is no prob lem continuing to
use the display.
