Light bulbs
You may replace the following bulbs by yourself. The difficulty level
of replacement varies depending on the bulb. As there is a danger
that components may be damaged, we recommend that replacement
is carried out by any authorized Toyota dealer or repairer, or another
duly qualified and equipped professional.
For more information about replacing other light bulbs, contact any
authorized Toyota dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and
equipped professional.
Preparing for light bulb replacement
Check the wattage of the light bulb to be replaced. (P. 684)

Replacing light bulbs

Unplug the connector.

Turn the cover to the open posi-
tion and remove it.
Open position
Turn the bulb base counterclock-
wise.
Unplug the connector while pull-
ing the lock release.
Replace the light bulb, and install
the bulb base.
Align the 3 tabs on the light bulb
with the mounting, and insert.

Shake the bulb base gently to
check that it is not loose, turn the
headlights, on once and visually
confirm that no light is leaking
through the mounting.
Install and turn the cover to the
closed position.
Closed position
The illustrations show the removal of a headlight from a right-hand
drive vehicle.
Front fog lights (if equipped)
Vehicles without a front
spoiler
Remove the 2 screws.
Vehicles with a front spoiler
Remove the 3 screws.
The front spoiler will come off on
that side when the screws are
removed.

Align the 3 tabs on the light bulb
with the mounting, and insert.
Turn and secure the bulb. Install
the connector.
Shake the bulb base gently to
check that it is not loose, turn the
front fog light, on once and visu-
ally confirm that no light is leaking
through the mounting.
When installing the fender liner, install by conducting
with the directions reversed.
Front position lights (except hybrid vehicle)
Turn the bulb base counterclock-
wise.

wise.
Remove the light bulb.

Depress the mirror.
Remove the mirror.
To prevent damaging the vehicle,
wrap the screwdriver with a tape.
Remove the bulb base.
Remove the light bulb.

Back-up lights, stop/tail lights and rear turn signal lights
Open the back door and remove
the cover.
To prevent damaging the vehicle,
wrap the screwdriver with a tape.
Turn the bulb base counterclockwise.
