Changing the light bulb

5. Release the bulb holder from the locking tabs ⇒ fig. 185 A (arrows) and remove the bulb socket assembly from the taillight assembly.
6. Replace the burned out light bulb with a new bulb of the same type B.
7. Insert the bulb socket into the rear taillight assembly. The locking tabs A (arrows) must latch with an audible “click”.

8. Plug the connector plug back into the bulb holder and carefully insert the rear light assembly into the opening in the vehicle body.
9. Hold the rear light assembly with one hand in the installation position and with the
other hand, tighten the fastening screw ⇒ fig. 184 B (1).
10. Check the taillight assembly for proper installation and secure fit.
11. Close the cover in the side trim panel.
12. Close the luggage compartment lid
Different models may have different lights, and the location and design of covers, bulb holders, and bulbs may be in a different location than shown in the illustrations.

x Screw the towing eye counterclockwise into the threaded hole as far as it will go (arrow)
⇒ fig. 191 ⇒ . Use the lug wrench to turn and tighten the towing eye.
x When towing is complete, unscrew the towing eye clockwise to remove it.
x Position the upper lip of the cover in the opening in the bumper and carefully push the lower lip over the edge of the opening; if necessary press on the lower lip from below.
x Push on the lower part of the cover until the lower lip has locked into place.
NOTICE
Always make sure the towing eye is screwed all the way into threaded hole so that it is secure. If not, it could be pulled out while your vehicle is being towed.

Installing the rear towing eye
x Take the towing eye, the lug wrench, and the screwdriver out of the vehicle tool kit in the luggage compartment, Vehicle tool kit.
x Carefully slide the cover down and off in the direction of the arrow ⇒ fig. 192. Slightly more force may be required.
x Stow the cover in the luggage compartment if necessary.
x Screw the towing eye counterclockwise into the threaded hole as far as it will go (arrow)
⇒ fig. 193 ⇒ . Use the lug wrench to turn and tighten the towing eye.
x When towing is complete, unscrew the towing eye clockwise to remove it.
x Slide the cover into the bumper in the direction opposite to the arrow until locks into place
