2007 Volvo C70
The seat belt reminder consists of an audible signal, an indicator light\
above the rearview mirror, and a
symbol in the instrument panel (see
page 51) that alert the driver and front seat passenger if their seat
belts are not fastened.
NOTE
The function is active for a total of 6 minutes from the time the igniti\
on is switched
on.
During the first minute:
The seat belt reminder function only reacts if the driver has not fasten\
ed his/her seat belt.
l The indicator light above the mirror and the symbol in the instrument pa\
nel will light up and stay lit
until the seat belt has been fastened.
l A chime will sound for 6 seconds. The frequency of the chiming increases\
with the speed of the car.
After one minute has elapsed:
The seat belt reminder reacts if the driver and/or the front seat passen\
ger have not fastened their seat belts.
l The indicator light above the mirror and the symbol in the instrument pa\
nel will light up and stay lit
until the seat belt(s) have been fastened, or until the remaining 5 mi\
nutes of the 6-minute cycle have
elapsed.
l The chime will sound for 6 seconds, at 30-second intervals. The frequenc\
y of the chiming increases
with the speed of the car.
After 6 minutes, the chime will no longer sound and the indicator lights\
will go out.
Seat belt maintenance
Check periodically that the seat belts are in good condition. Use water \
and a mild detergent for cleaning.

WARNING
l Always remove the ignition key when the vehicle is unattended.
l Never leave children unattended in the vehicle.
l Make sure that the windows are completely unobstructed before they are
operated.
l Press down the front part of one or both buttons A as far as possible an\
d release to automatically open the front
window(s) completely.
l To stop the window at any time, pull the button up.
Closing a window
l Lightly pull up the front edge of any of the buttons (A or B) to the f\
irst detent ("stop") to close a window to the
position of your choice.
l Pull up the front part of one or both buttons A as far as possible and r\
elease to automatically close the front window
(s) completely.
All windows
Button C can be used to open or close all of the windows at the same tim\
e.
l Briefly press the right side of the button to automatically open all of \
the windows.
l Press and hold down the left side of the button to close all of the wind\
ows.

The upper right-hand corner of the rearview mirror has an integrated dis\
play that shows the compass direction toward
which the car is pointing. Eight different directions can be displayed: \
N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W and NW. The display
shows your car's orientation with respect to true north.
Calibrating the compass
The compass may need to be calibrated in certain cases. If calibration i\
s required, the character C appears in the
mirror's display.
The earth is divided into 15 magnetic zones. The compass is initially se\
t for the zone to which the car was delivered,
and should always be adjusted if the car is driven to a new magnetic zon\
e. A "C" will be displayed if calibration
becomes necessary.

1. Stop the car in a large, open area, away from traffic.
