Adjusting the passenger seat from
the driver's seat*
The front passenger seat can be adjusted fromthe driver's seat.
Activating the function
The function is activated via the function view inthe center display:
Tap the Adjust PassengerSeat button to activate.
Adjust passenger seat
The driver must adjust the passenger seat within10 seconds of activating the function. If noadjustment is made within this time, the functionwill be deactivated.
The driver adjusts the passenger seat using thecontrols on the driver's seat:

Move the passenger seat forward/rearwardby moving the control forward/rearward.
Change the backrest tilt of the passengerseat by moving the control forward/back-ward.

Folding down the rear seatbackrests
The rear seat backrest is split into two sections.The two sections can be folded forward individu-ally.
WARNING
Adjust the seat and ensure it locks intoposition before driving. Use caution whenadjusting the seat. Uncontrolled or care-less adjustments could lead to injury.
Long objects must always be securelytied down to help prevent injury or dam-age in the event of sudden braking.
Always turn off the engine and apply theparking brake when loading or unloadingthe vehicle.
Put the gear selector in P to help preventthe gear selector from being inadvertentlymoved.
CAUTION
When the backrest is folded down, make surethere are no objects in the rear seat, and theseat belts are not buckled. Otherwise there isa risk of damage to the upholstery.

CAUTION
The seat cushion of the integrated childrestraint* must be in the stowed positionbefore the rear seat backrest can be foldeddown.
The armrest* in the center seat must beraised before the seat backrest is foldeddown.
The ski hatch must be closed before the seatbackrest is folded down.
NOTE
The front seats may need to be pushed for-ward and/or the backrest adjusted so that therear seat backrests can be fully lowered.
Folding down backrests with the
electric backrest folding function *
If the vehicle is equipped with the electric rearseat backrest fold-down function, the buttons inthe cargo compartment can be used to fold downthe backrests. It is also possible to fold down therear seat using the handle on the top of the seat.
WARNING
Before using the electric fold-down function,be sure that no one is sitting in or is near therear seat, that there are no objects on the rearseat and that the backrest is not obstructed inany way.
Folding backrests with the buttons in the
cargo compartment
The vehicle must be stationary and the tailgatemust be open before a backrest can be foldeddown. Make sure that the rear seat is unoccupiedand that there are no objects on the seat.
1.Fold down the center seat's head restraintmanually.
2. Press and hold one of the electric fold-downbuttons. The buttons are marked L (left back-rest section) and R (right backrest section).
3. The backrests will release from the locks.The head restraint will fold down first andthen the backrest will automatically folddown to the horizontal position.
Folding the backrest with the handle in the
rear seat
Make sure that the rear seat is unoccupied andthat there are no objects on the seat.
Fold down the center seat's head restraintmanually.
Pull the handle in the vehicle's left or rightrear seat backrest forward to fold down theleft or right section of the rear seat.
>The backrests will release from the locks.The head restraint will fold down first andthen the backrest will automatically folddown to the horizontal position.

Folding the backrests manually
If the vehicle only has the manual backrest fold-down function, fold down the right or left sectionof the seat using the handle in the rear seat.
Make sure that the rear seat is unoccupied andthat there are no objects on the seat.
Fold down the center seat's head restraintmanually.
Pull up the handle on the backrest whilefolding down the backrest. The handle for thehead restraint will be automatically pulled upwhen the backrest is lowered. A red indicator
light near the backrest lock indicates thatthe backrest is no longer locked.
NOTE
When the backrest is folded down, the headrestraint may come in contact with the seatcushion of the seat being folded down. Adjustthe head restraint of the seat being foldeddown to help prevent damage to the uphols-tery.
3. The backrest lock will release and the back-rest will automatically fold down to the hori-zontal position.
Folding up the backrest
To fold up the backrest to the upright positionmanually:
1. Move the backrest upward/rearward.
2. Press the backrest until it locks into position.
3. Fold up the head restraints manually.
4. Adjust the center head restraint if necessary.
WARNING
When the backrest is restored to an uprightposition, the red indicator should no longer bevisible. If it is still visible, the backrest is notlocked in place.
WARNING
Make sure that the rear seat backrest andhead restraint are locked securely in placeafter the seat is folded up.
The head restraints at the outer seats mustalways be raised when there is a passenger inone of these spots of the rear seat.

Adjusting the rear seat headrestraints
Adjust the center head restraint in the rear seatto the seat occupant's height. Fold down theoutboard head restraints* to improve rear visibil-ity.
Adjusting the center seat head restraint
The center head restraint should be adjusted tosuit the passenger's height. The entire back ofthe head should be covered if possible. Manuallymove the restraint up or down as needed.
To lower the restraint, push and hold the button(see illustration) while carefully lowering the headrestraint.
WARNING
The center seat head restraint must be in itslowest position when the seat is not occupied.When the center seat is occupied, the headrestraint must be correctly adjusted to thepassenger's height, covering the entire backof the head if possible.
Folding the rear seat outboard head
restraints using the center display *
The outer head restraints can be folded via thecenter display's function view. The head restraintcan be folded down when the vehicle is in igni-tion mode 0.
Tap the Headrest Fold buttonto activate/deactivate folding.
Manually push the head restraint until it clicksinto position.
WARNING
Do not lower the head restraint if there arepassengers in any of the rear seats.
WARNING
The head restraint must be locked in theupright position after it has been folded up.

Folding the rear seat outboard head
restraints using the handle
For vehicles with electrically folding* rear seats,the outboard head restraints can be folded usingthe handle on the top of the seat (see illustration
.) For vehicles without electrically folding back-rests, fold the outboard head restraints manuallyusing the inner control on the top of the seat
(see illustration ).

Horn
The horn is located in the center of the steering wheel.

Adjusting the steering wheel
The steering wheel can be adjusted to variouspositions.
The steering wheel's reach and height can be adjusted.
WARNING
Adjust the steering wheel and ensure it locksinto position before driving. Never adjust thesteering wheel while driving.
Steering wheel force can be adjusted withspeed-dependent power steering. Steering wheelforce is adjusted according to the vehicle's speedto give the driver an enhanced sense of controland stability.
Steering wheel adjuster lever.
1. Move the lever forward to release the steer-ing wheel.
2.Adjust the steering wheel to the desiredposition.
3. Pull the lever back to lock the steering wheelinto place. If the lever is difficult to move,press the steering wheel lightly while pullingthe lever.

Air quality
The materials used in the passenger compart-ment and air filtering system have been selectedto ensure a high level of air quality in the passen-ger compartment.
Materials used in the passenger
compartment
The materials in the passenger compartment aredesigned to be pleasant and comfortable, evenfor people with asthma or allergies.
The materials have been developed and tested tominimize dust in the passenger compartment andmake it easier to keep clean.
The mats in both the passenger compartmentand cargo compartment can be easily removedfor cleaning.
Use Volvo-recommended cleaning agents andcar care products to clean the interior.
Air filtering systems
In addition to the passenger compartment filter,the Clean Zone Interior Package* and Interior AirQuality System* also help maintain high air qual-ity in the passenger compartment.

Climate system controls
The climate system functions are controlled fromphysical buttons on the center console, the cen-ter display, and the climate panel on the rearside of the tunnel console*.
Physical buttons in the center console
Button for heated windshield* and maxdefroster.
Button for heated rear window and door mir-rors.
Climate bar in the center display
The most common climate system functions canbe controlled from the climate bar.
Temperature control for the driver and pas-senger sides.
Control for heated* and ventilated* driver andpassenger seats, and heated steeringwheel*.
Button for opening Climate view. The graphicin the button shows activated climate systemsettings.
Climate view in the center display
Tap the center button on the climate bar to openClimate view.
Depending on equipment level, Climate view maybe divided into several tabs. Toggle between thetabs by swiping the screen to the left/right or bytapping the desired heading.
Main climate
In addition to the functions in the climate bar,other main climate system functions can be con-trolled from the Main climate tab.
Max, Electric, Rear - Controls for defrostingwindows and door mirrors.

The seats can be heated for added comfort forthe driver and passengers in cold weather.
Steering wheel and seat buttons in the climate row.
1. Tap the left- or right-side steering wheel andseat button in the center display's climatebar to open the controls for steering wheeland seat heating.
If the vehicle is not equipped with ventilatedseats or heated steering wheel, the buttonfor seat heating is directly accessible in theclimate bar.
2.Tap the seat heating button repeatedly toselect one of the four levels: Off, High,Medium or Low.
>The level is changed and the set level isdisplayed in the button.
