Voltage display modeThis display shows the battery voltage.
“btry” appears for 1 second when the voltage dis-
play mode is first selected, and then the battery
voltage is shown.
If the battery voltage is less than 10 volts, “LO” is
displayed and if the voltage is above 16 volts, “HI”
is displayed. NOTICE
If the voltage display indicates “LO” or “HI”,
there may be trouble with the battery charging
circuit or the battery may be faulty. If “LO” or
“HI” appears in the display, have a Yamaha
dealer check or repair the vehicle.

WARNING
Avoid battery contact with skin, eyes, or cloth-
ing. Shield eyes when working near batteries.
Keep out of reach of children. You could be
poisoned or severely burned by the sulfuric
acid in battery electrolyte.
In case of accidental contact with battery elec-
trolyte:
EXTERNAL: Flush with water.
INTERNAL: Drink large quantities of water or
milk. Follow with milk of magnesia, beaten
egg, or vegetable oil. Get prompt medical at-
tention.
EYES: Flush with water for 15 minutes and get
prompt medical attention.
WARNING
Batteries may produce explosive gases. Venti-
late when charging or using in a closed space.
Keep batteries away from sparks, flames, ciga-
rettes, or other sources of ignition.

Battery maintenance
1. If the vehicle will not be used for a month or
longer, remove the battery and store it in a
cool, dark place. Completely recharge the
battery before reinstallation.NOTICE_A special battery charger (constant voltage/
ampere or constant voltage) is required for re-
charging a sealed-type battery. Using a con-
ventional battery charger may shorten the
battery life._2. Always make sure the connections are cor-
rect when putting the battery back in the vehi-
cle.
