Schwimmer auf Leichtgängigkeit prüfen.
6. Montieren:

Schraube (Schwimmerkammer) 2
7. Montieren:
Feder 1
Chokeschieber 2
(am Chokezug 3)
8. Montieren:
Düsennadel-Satz 1
Nadelhalter 2
(am Drosselventil 3)
HINWEIS:
Die Nasen a auf dem Drosselventil auf die
Nuten b im Nadelhalter ausrichten.

Carburetor top cover 1
Spring (throttle valve) 2
Throttle valve 3
On throttle cable 4.
NOTE:
While compressing the spring, connect the
throttle cable.
Carburetor installation
1. Install:
Carburetor assembly 1
NOTE:
Install the projection between the carburetor
joint slots.
2. Tighten:
Screw (carburetor joint) 1
Screw (air cleaner joint) 2

Vergaserdeckel 1
Feder (Drosselventil) 2

(am Gaszug 4)
HINWEIS:
Feder zusammendrücken und Gaszug anschlie-
ßen.
Vergaser montieren
1. Montieren:
Vergaser 1
HINWEIS:
Nase zwischen den Vergaser-Verbindungs-
schlitzen montieren.
2. Festziehen:
Schraube(Vergaser-Verbindungsteil) 1
Schraube (Luftfilter-Anschlußteil) 2 9. Monter:
Cache supérieur du carburateur 1
Ressort (boisseau) 2
Boisseau 3
Sur le câble d’accélération 4.
N.B.:
Connecter le câble d’accélération tout en compri-
mant le ressort.
Installation du carburateur
1. Monter:
Carburateur complet 1
N.B.:
Veiller à ce que la saillie soit placée entre les fentes
du raccord de carburateur.
2. Serrer:
Vis (raccord du carburateur) 1
Vis (raccord du filtre à air) 2

Starter plunger 2

NOTE:
Align the slit a of the throttle valve with the tab
b of the carburetor body.
CAUTION:
In order to release the starter cable from
the twist, install the starter knob after tight-
ening the nut for the starter plunger.
4. Adjust:
Idle speed
Refer to “ENGINE IDLING SPEED
ADJUSTMENT” section in the CHAP-
TER 3.

N.B.:
Aligner la fente a du boisseau et l’onglet b du
corps du carburateur.
ATTENTION:
Pour relâcher le Câble de démarreur, installer le
bouton de démarreur après avoir serré l’écrou
du plongeur de démarreur.
4. Régler:
Régime de ralenti
Se reporter à la section “RÉGLAGE DU
RÉGIME DE RALENTI” au CHAPITRE 3.
CARBURATEUR

3. Montieren:
Vergaserdeckel 1
Chokeschieber 2
Belüftungsschlauch 3
Überlaufschlauch 4
Kraftstoffleitung 5
HINWEIS:
Schlitz a des Drosselventils auf den Dorn b
des Vergasers ausrichten.
ACHTUNG:
Um den Starterseilzug von der Drehung
freizugeben, den Starterknopf nach dem
Festziehen der Mutter für den Starter-Plun-
ger einbauen.
4. Einstellen:
Leerlaufdrehzahl

EINSTELLEN” in KAPITEL 3.

4. Remove:
Bolt (camshaft sprocket) 1
Camshaft sprocket 2
NOTE:
Attach a wire a to the timing chain to prevent
it from falling into the crankcase.
5. Remove:
Bolts (cylinder head)
Cylinder head
NOTE:
Loosen the bolts 1/4 turn each and remove
then after all are loosened.
Loosen the bolts starting with the lowest
number one.
INSPECTION
Cylinder head
1. Eliminate:
Carbon deposits (from the combustion
chambers)
Use a rounded scraper.
NOTE:
Do not use a sharp instrument to avoid dam-
aging or scratching:
Spark plug threads
Valve seats
2. Inspect:
Cylinder head
Scratches/damage → Replace.
3. Inspect:
Cylinder head warpage
Out of specification → Re-surface.
Warpage measurement and re-surfacing
steps:
Attach a straightedge and a thickness
gauge on the cylinder head.
Measure the warpage.

Valve face
Pitting/wear → Grind the face.
Valve stem end
Mushroom shape or diameter larger
than the body of the stem → Replace.
4. Measure:
Margin thickness a
Out of specification → Replace.
5. Measure:
Runout (valve stem)
Out of specification → Replace.
NOTE:
When installing a new valve always replace
the guide.
If the valve is removed or replaced always
replace the oil seal.
Margin thickness:
Intake:
0.4 ~ 0.8 mm
(0.0157 ~ 0.0315 in)
Exhaust:
0.8 ~ 1.2 mm
(0.0315 ~ 0.0472 in)
Runout limit:
0.01 mm (0.0004 in)
6. Eliminate:
Carbon deposits
(from the valve face and valve seat)
7. Inspect:
Valve seats
Pitting/wear → Reface the valve seat.

CYLINDER AND PISTON
Piston ring
1. Measure:

Ring side clearance
Use a feeler gauge.
Out of specification

Replace the pis-
ton and rings as a set.
NOTE:

Clean carbon from the piston ring grooves and
rings before measuring the side clearance.

Insert a ring into the cylinder and push it
approximately 40 mm (1.57 in) into the cylin-
der. Push the ring with the piston crown so that
the ring will be at a right angle to the cylinder
bore.

NOTE:

You cannot measure the end gap on the
expander spacer of the oil control ring. If the oil
control ring rails show excessive gap, replace
all three rings.
