REAR BRAKE PEDAL
The rear brake pedal 1 is located on the right
side of the machine. Press down on the brake
pedal to activate the rear brake.

FUEL COCK
The fuel cock supplies fuel from the tank to
carburetor while filtering the fuel. The fuel cock
has the three positions:
OFF: With the lever in this position, fuel will
not flow. Always return the lever to this
position when the engine is not running.
ON: With the lever in this position, fuel flows
to the carburetor. Normal riding is done
with the lever in this position.
RES: This indicates reserve. If you run out of
fuel while riding, move the lever to this
position. FILL THE TANK AT THE
FIRST OPPORTUNITY. BE SURE TO
SET THE LEVER TO “ON” AFTER
REFUELING.

STARTER LEVER (CHOKE)
When cold, the engine requires a richer air/fuel
mixture for starting. A separate starter circuit,
which is controlled by the starter lever 1, sup-
plies this mixture.
Pull the lever out to open the circuit (for start-
ing) and push the lever in to close the circuit.

FUSSBREMSHEBEL
Der Fußbremshebel 1 zur Betätigung der Hin-
terradbremse befindet sich auf der rechten
Fahrzeugseite.
KRAFTSTOFFHAHN
Der Kraftstoffhahn leitet den Kraftstoff vom
Tank zum Vergaser und filtert ihn gleichzeitig.
Die einzelnen Kraftstoffhahnstellungen (vgl.
Abb.) sind nachfolgend beschrieben.
OFF: Der Kraftstoffhahn ist geschlossen und
die Kraftstoffzufuhr unterbrochen. Den
Kraftstoffhahn nach Abstellen des Mo-
tors auf “OFF” stellen.
ON: Diese Stellung ist für den Normalbetrieb:
der laufende Motor wird mit Kraftstoff
versorgt. Den Kraftstoffhahn vor Fahrt-
antritt auf “ON” stellen.
RES: Dies ist die Reservestellung. Falls beim
Fahren der Kraftstoff ausgeht, muß der
Hebel in diese Position gestellt werden.
In diesem Fall so bald wie möglich auf-
tanken. Der Hebel muß nach dem Auf-
tanken wieder in die Position “ON” ge-
stellt werden.
CHOKEHEBEL
Ein kalter Motor benötigt zum Starten ein fette-
res Luft-Kraftstoff-Gemisch, das eine spezielle
Kaltstarteinrichtung, der sog. Choke, liefert.
Zum Aktivieren des Chokes (Kaltstartanreiche-
rung des Gemischs) den Chokehebel 1 bis
zum Anschlag herausziehen. Zum Abschalten
des Chokemechanismus (normaler Fahrbe-
trieb mit warmem Motor) den Hebel bis zum
Anschlag zurückschieben. PEDALE DE FREIN ARRIERE
La pédale de frein arrière 1 se trouve du côté droit
de la machine. Appuyer sur la pédale pour action-
ner le frein arrière.
ROBINET A ESSENCE
Le robinet de carburant fournit le carburant du
réservoir au carburateur, tout en le filtrant. Le robi-
net de carburant a trois positions:
OFF: Avec le levier à cette position, l’essence ne
coule pas. Toujours remettre le levier à cette
position quand le moteur est arrêté.
ON: Avec le levier à cette position, l’essence
arrive au carburateur. La conduite normale
est faite avec le levier à cette position.
RES: Position réserve. Quand le carburant vient à
manquer au cours d’une randonnée, placer le
levier à cette position. FAIRE LE PLEIN
DES QUE POSSIBLE. REMETTRE LE
LEVIER SUR “ON” APRES AVOIR FAIT
LE PLEIN.
LEVIER DE STARTER
La mise en marche à froid requiert un mélange air –
carburant plus riche. C’est le circuit de starter,
commandé par le levier de starter 1, qui fournit ce
mélange plus riche.
Tirer sur le levier pour ouvrir le circuit (pour la
mise en marche) et enfoncer le levier pour refermer
le circuit.

After fastening the starter cable, CDI magneto lead and ignition coil
lead, cut off any excess from the plastic locking tie end.

SERVICE NOTES:

No. 1. DRIVE CHAIN: In addition to tension and alignment, chain must be lubricated every
0.5 ~ 1.0 hour. If unit is subjected to extremely hard usage and wet weather riding, chain
must be checked constantly. See “Lubrication Intervals” for additional details.
No. 2. AIR FILTER: Remove and clean filter every 20 ~ 40 hours.

AIR FILTER CLEANING
NOTE:

Proper air filter maintenance is the biggest key
to preventing premature engine wear and
damage.
CAUTION:

Never run the engine without the air filter
element in place; this would allow dirt and
dust to enter the engine and cause rapid
wear and possible engine damage.Throttle grip free play adjustment steps:
Turning in: Free play is increased.
Turning out: Free play is decreased.

Tighten the locknuts.
NOTE:
Before adjusting the throttle cable free play,
the engine idle speed should be adjusted.
lLoosen the locknut 1 on throttle cable.
lTurn the adjuster 2 in or out until the
specified free play is obtained.
WARNING
After adjusting, turn the handlebar to
right and left and make sure that the
engine idling does not run faster.

HINWEIS:

Frühzeitige und sachgemäße Luftfilterwartung
hilft, Motorverschleiß und -beschädigung vor-
zubeugen.
ACHTUNG:

Den Motor niemals ohne Luftfilter betrei-
ben, da eindringende Staubpartikel erhöh-
ten Verschleiß am Kolben und/oder
Zylinder verursachen.
Gaszugspiel am Gasdrehgriff

Hineindrehen Spiel größer
Herausdrehen Spiel kleiner

Sicherungsmuttern festziehen.
HINWEIS:
Vor dem Einstellen des Gaszugspiels sollte
die Leerlaufdrehzahl dem Sollwert entspre-
chen.
lSicherungsmutter 1 an Gaszug 1 lok-
kern.
lEinstellmutter 2 verdrehen, bis das vor-
geschriebene Spiel erreicht ist.
WARNUNG
Nach der Einstellung den Lenker bei lau-
fendem Motor beidseitig bis zum
Anschlag drehen. Dabei darf sich die
Leerlaufdrehzahl nicht verändern.

N.B.:

Un entretien convenable du filtre à air est la clé
pour éviter l’usure prématurée et l’endommage-
ment du moteur.
ATTENTION:

Ne jamais faire tourner le moteur lorsque le fil-
tre à air n’est pas en place; ceci permettrait la
pénétration de poussière dans le moteur et cau-
serait son usure rapide et son endommagement.
Jeu à la poignée des gaz
a
:
3 à 5 mm (0,12 à 0,20 in)
Etapes de réglage du jeu des câbles d’accélé-
ration:
Visser: le jeu augmente.
Dévisser: le jeu diminue.
l
Serrer les contre-écrous.
N.B.:
Avant de régler le jeu des câbles de d’accéléra-
tion, il faut régler la vitesse de marche au ralenti
du moteur.
lDesserrer le contre-écrou 1 du câble d’accé-
lération n˚1.
lVisser ou dévisser le dispositif de réglage 2
jusqu’à obtention du jeu spécifié.
AVERTISSEMENT
Après le réglage, tourner le guidon vers la
droite et vers la gauche et s’assurer que le
régime de ralenti du moteur ne change pas.

AIR FILTER CLEANING

After cleaning, remove the remaining solvent
by squeezing the element.
CAUTION:
