CAUTION:

Be sure to use motor oils that do not contain
anti-friction modifiers. Passenger car motor
oils (often labeled “Energy Conserving”) con-
tain anti-friction additives which will cause
clutch and/or starter clutch slippage, resulting
in reduced component life and poor engine
performance.

9. Fill the engine with sufficient oil to reach
the specified level. Install the dipstick and
tighten it.CAUTION:l
Do not put in any chemical additives. En-
gine oil also lubricates the clutch and ad-
ditives could cause clutch slippage.

Be sure no foreign material enters thecrankcase. Recommended oil:
See page 10-2.

6. Fill the final gear case with oil.CAUTION:Be sure no foreign material enters the finalgear case.
7. Install the filler bolt and tighten to the
specified torque.
8. Check for oil leakage. If oil leakage is
found, check for the cause.
9. Install the final gear case cover.Recommended oil:
SAE 80 API “GL-4” Hypoid gear oil

Tightening torque:

5. Fill the differential gear case with oil.CAUTION:Be sure no foreign material enters the differen-tial gear case.
6. Install the filler bolt and tighten it to the
specified torque.
7. Check for oil leakage. If oil leakage is
found, check for the cause. Recommended oil:
