Den Nebenkabelbaum am Rahmen mit einem
Plastiksperrband befestigen und das Bandende
abschneiden.
ÒDen Nebenkabelsatz zwischen den Motorlagern
hindurchführen.
˜Sicherstellen, daß der TPS stecker nicht aus
dem Chassis herausragt.
ˆDie TPS-Leitung am Rahmen mit einem Plastik-
sperrband befestigen.
ØDas Leerlaufschalterkabel und den Ölschlauch
mit einem Einweg-Kabelbinder zusammenbin-
den und das überstehende Ende des Kabelbin-

ØAttacher le fil de contacteur de point mort et le flexi-
ble d’huile à l’aide d’une attache en plastique et cou-
per l’extrémité de l’attache.
∏Faire passer le reniflard de carburateur et le flexible
de trop-plein entre la bielle et le tube transversal du
cadre.
ŒAttacher le fil de contacteur de point mort, le fil de
magnéto CDI et le flexible de reniflard de radiateur
au cadre avec une attache en plastique.
ÂAttacher le fil du contacteur de point mort, le fil du
magnéto CDI et le flexible du reniflard de moteur au
cadre avec une attache en plastique et couper l’extré-
mité de l’attache.
ÍFaire passer le fil du contacteur de point mort, le fil
de magnéto de CDI et le flexible de reniflard de
radiateur entre le radiateur et le cadre.
ÊAttacher le tube de protection du fil du contacteur de
point mort et du fil de magnéto CDI au guide de câble
avec une attache en plastique et couper l’extrémité de
l’attache.
ËAcheminer les reniflards de carburateur et le flexible
de trop-plein en veillant à ce qu’ils ne touchent pas
l’amortisseur arrière.

CAUTION:
When the oil tank is empty, never start the
engine.
6. Idle the engine more than 10 seconds
while keeping the motorcycle upright.
Then stop the engine and add the oil to
the maximum level.
7. Install:

1. Start the engine and let it warm up for
several minutes.
2. Stop the engine and place an oil pan
under the drain bolt.
3. Remove:

1. Start the engine and thoroughly warm it
up.
2. Adjust:

VALVE CLEARANCE ADJUSTMENT
NOTE:
The valve clearance should be adjusted
when the engine is cool to the touch.
The piston must be at Top Dead Center
(T.D.C.) on compression stroke to check or
adjust the valve clearance.
1. Remove:

Refer to “SEAT, FUEL TANK AND SIDE
COVERS” section in the CHAPTER 4.
2. Remove:
Carburetor
Refer to “CARBURETOR” section in
the CHAPTER 4.

Refer to “CAMSHAFTS” section in the
CHAPTER 4. Adjustment steps:
Adjust the pilot screw.
Refer to “PILOT SCREW ADJUSTMENT”
section.
Turn the throttle stop screw 1 until the
engine runs at the lowest possible speed.
NOTE:
Using a digital engine tachometer for idle
speed adjustment, detect the engine idling
speed by bringing the sensing element c of
the engine tachometer close to the ignition
coil 2.
To increase idle speed →
Turn the throttle stop screw 1 in a.
To decrease idle speed →
Turn the throttle stop screw 1 out b.
Engine idling speed:
1,900 ~ 2,100 r/min

Plain washer (metal) 2
Plain washer (resin) 3
Valve lever 4
NOTE:
Apply the fluorochemical grease on the bear-
ings.
Fit the projection a on the throttle shaft
assembly into the slot b in the TPS (throttle
position sensor).
Make sure the stopper c of the spring fits
into the recess in the carburetor.
Turn the throttle shaft assembly left while
holding down the lever 1 5 and fit the throt-
tle stop screw tip d to the stopper e of the
throttle shaft assembly pulley.
