Handbrake on
The warning light turns on when the hand-
brake is on. HIGH ENGINE
COOLANT
TEMPERATURE (red)
Turning the ignition key to MARthe warn-
ing light turns on, but it should go off after
few seconds.
The warning light turns on (together with
message + symbol on the display) when the
engine is overheated: if the warning light
comes on when driving, stop the car leav-
ing the engine on and slightly accelerated
to further activate the circulation of the
coolant fluid.
If the warning light does not turn off with-
in the next 2 or 3 minutes, stop the engine
and contact Alfa Romeo Authorized Services.

equipment with which the car is fitted.

Low brake fluid level
The warning light turns on (together with
message + symbol on the display) when the
level of the brake fluid in the reservoir falls
below the minimum level, due to possible
leak in the circuit.

If the warning light turns
on when travelling, check
that the handbrake is not
engaged. If the warning light stays
on with handbrake disengaged,
stop the car immediately and con-
tact Alfa Romeo Authorized Ser-
vices.

The cooling system is
pressurised. If necessary,
replace the cap only with
another genuine one, otherwise
system efficiency could be compro-
mised. Do not remove the reservoir
cap when the engine is hot: you
risk scalding yourself.
The cooling system uses
PARAFLU UP antifreeze.
Do not add fluid having dif-
ferent specifications from that al-
ready existing. PARAFLU UP can-
not be mixed with other types of
fluids. Should other fluids be
added, do not start the engine and
contact Alfa Romeo Authorized
Services as soon as possible.ENGINE COOLANT FLUID

Do not remove the cap
when the engine is hot:
danger of burns.
The level of the coolant in the header tank
(reservoir) should be checked with the en-
gine cold and the car on a level surface and
it should be between the MINandMAX
marks on the tank.

If the level is low, loosen the header tank
cap (A) and slowly pour a mixture of 50%
distilled water and 50% PARAFLU UP FL
Seleniathrough the filler neck until near-
ing the MAXmark.
The antifreeze mixture of 50% PARAFLU
UPand 50% distilled water guarantees pro-
tection down to –35 °C.
