Each memory button stores only one
driving position. Storing a new
position erases the previous setting
stored in that button’s memory. If
you want to add a new position while
retaining the current one, use the
other memory button. To select a memorized position, do
this:
To stop the system’s automatic
adjustment, do any of these actions:
Push any of the adjustment
switches f or the seat.
Shif t out of Park.
Adjust the outside mirrors.
Make sure the vehicle is parked.
Press the desired memory button
(1 or 2) until you hear a beep, then
release the button.
Doing any of the f ollowing af ter
pressing the SET button will cancel
the storing procedure.
The system will move the seat and
outside mirrors to the memorized
positions. The indicator in the
selected memory button will f lash
during movement. When the
adjustments are complete, you will
hear two beeps, and the indicator will
remain on. Press any button on the control
panel: SET, 1, or 2.
If desired, you can use the
adjustment switches to change the
positions of the seat or outside
mirrors af ter they are in their
memorized position. If you change
the memorized position, the
indicator in the memory button will
go out. To keep this driving position
f or later use, you must store it in the
driving position memory.

To apply the parking brake, push the
pedal down with your f oot. To
release it, push on the pedal again.
The parking brake indicator on the
instrument panel should go out when
the parking brake is fully released
(see page ).You will also see a ‘‘RELEASE
PARKING BRAKE’’ message on the
multi-inf ormation display (see page
).

Driving the vehicle with the parking
brake applied can damage the rear
brakes and axles. A beeper will sound
if the vehicle is driven with the parking
brake on.

Each f ront and rear ceiling light has
a three-position switch.
Front ceiling lights:
In the ‘‘ ’’ position, both f ront
and rear ceiling lights are on all the
time except when the rear ceiling
light switch is in the OFF position.In the ‘‘ ’’ position, both f ront
and rear ceiling lights are of f all the
time.
With the f ront ceiling lights switch in
this position, the rear ceiling light
does not work, and both f ront and
rear ceiling lights do not come on
when you open any door.
Rear ceiling light:
You can use the rear ceiling light
independently. In the OFF position,
the light does not come on even if
the f ront ceiling light switch is in the
‘‘ ’’ position. In the ON position,
the light stays on continuously
except when the f ront ceiling light
switch is in the ‘‘ ’’ position.

Open any door.
Remove the key from the ignition
switch.
Unlock the doors with the key,
locktabonthedriver’sdoor,
master door lock switch, or
remote transmitter.
After all doors are closed tightly, the
light(s) dims slightly, then f ades out
in about 30 seconds. If you do not open any door af ter
unlocking the driver’s door or
removing the key from the ignition
switch, the light(s) f ade out in about
30 seconds. If you leave any door
open without the key in the ignition
switch, the light(s) will go of f af ter 3
minutes.
You can use the f ront ceiling lights
whenever the lights are of f .
To turn a light on or of f , push its lens.
In the door activated position, both
f ront and rear ceiling lights come on
when you:

The courtesy lights in the ceiling
console come on when the light
switch is in the or theposition. You can adjust their
brightness by turning the Select/
Reset knob on the instrument panel. The cargo area light has a two
position switch. In the OFF (right)
position, the light does not come on.
In the ON (lef t) position, the light
comesonwhenyouopenthetailgate.
Your vehicle also has a courtesy light
in the ignition switch. This light
comesonwhenyou;
Unlock the driver’s door.
Remove the key from the ignition
switch.
Open any door.
The courtesy light in each f ront door
comes on when the door is opened,
and goes out when the door is closed.
After all doors are closed tightly, the
light f ades out in about 30 seconds.

Open the glove box by pulling the
handle to the lef t. Close it with a f irm
push. Lock or unlock the glove box
with the master key.The glove box light comes on when
the parking lights are on.
The interior of each f ront door has
an extendable pocket f or maps and
other small, lightweight items. For
saf ety, be sure both f ront door
pockets are closed while driving.

Be caref ul when you are using the
beverage holders. A spilled liquid
that is very hot can scald you or your
passengers. Spilled liquids can
damage the upholstery, carpeting,
and electrical components in the
interior.To use the f ront beverage holder,
push on the lid. It will swing open. To
close the lid, push it down until it
latches.The rear seat also has a beverage
holder in the center armrest. To use
it, pivot the armrest down.

None of the sockets will power an
automotive type cigarette lighter
element. When both sockets are
being used, the combined power
rating of the accessories should be
120 watts or less (10 amps).To use the sun visor, pull it down.
You can also use the sun visor at the
side window. Remove the support
rod from the clip and swing the sun
visor toward the side window.
Make sure you put the sun visor
back in place when you are getting
into or out of the vehicle.
To use the accessory power socket,
pull up the cover. The ignition switch
must be in the ACCESSORY (I) or
ON (II) position.
These sockets are intended to supply
power f or 12 volt DC accessories
that are rated 120 watts or less (10
amps).

Tousethevanitymirrorontheback
of the sun visor, pull up the cover.Your vehicle has a multi-f unction
console compartment. It includes an
armrest, a coin holder, a pen holder,
a card holder and a console
compartment with two separatable
shelves.
To open the console compartment,
push the button and lif t the lid.
To close, lower the lid, and push it
down until it latches.
You can lock or unlock the console
compartment lid with the master key.
The light comes on when you pull up
the cover.
