InteriorequipmentVehiclefeaturesandoptionsThis chapter describes all standard, country-specific and optional features offered with theseries. It also describes features that are notnecessarily available in your vehicle, e. g., due
to the selected options or country versions.
This also applies to safety-related functions
and systems. When using these functions and systems, the applicable laws and regulations
must be observed.
IntegratedUniversalRemote
Control
Concept
The integrated Universal Remote Control in
the interior mirror can operate up to 3 funcj
tions of remote-controlled systems, such as
garage door drives, barriers, or lighting sysj
tems.
Generalinformation
The Integrated Universal Remote Control rej places up to 3 different hand-held transmitters. To operate the remote control, the buttons onthe interior mirror must be programmed withthe desired functions. The hand-held transmitjter for the particular system is required in orderto program the remote control.
Before selling the vehicle, delete the stored
functions for the sake of security.
Safetyinformation WARNING
Body parts can be jammed when operatj
ing remote-controlled systems, such as the garage door, using the integrated UniversalRemote Control. There is a risk of injury or risk
of damage to property. Make sure that the areaof movement of the respective system is clear
during programming and operation. Also follow
the safety information of the hand-held transj mitter.'

Press and hold the two outer buttons onthe interior mirror simultaneously for apj
proximately 10 seconds until the LED
flashes green rapidly. This erases all proj gramming of the buttons on the interiormirror.3.Press the interior mirror button to be projgrammed. The LED flashes orange.4.Hold the hand-held transmitter for the sysjtem to be controlled approx. 1 to 3 in/2.5 to
8 cm away from the buttons of the interior
mirror. The required distance depends on the hand-held transmitter.5.Press and hold the button of the desired
function on the hand-held transmitter. The
LED on the interior mirror will begin flashj
ing orange slowly.6.As soon as the LED flashes green more
rapidly or lights up continuously, release
the button. Green light indicates that the button on the interior mirror has been projgrammed. Faster green flashing indicates
that it is a rolling code wireless system.
If the LED does not flash faster after at
least 60 seconds, change the distance bej
tween the interior mirror and the hand-held transmitter and repeat the step. Several
more attempts at different distances may
be necessary. Wait at least 15 seconds bej
tween attempts.
Canada: if programming with the hand- held transmitter was interrupted, hold
down the interior mirror button and repeatj
edly press and release the hand-held
transmitter button for 2 seconds.7.To program other functions on other butj
tons, repeat steps 3 to 5.
The systems can be controlled using the intej
rior mirror buttons.
Specialfeatureoftherollingcode
wirelesssystem
If you are unable to operate the system after
repeated programming, please check if the
system to be controlled features a rolling code radio system.
Read the system's owner's manual, or press the programmed button on the interior mirror longer. If the LED on the interior mirror starts
flashing rapidly and then stays lit constantly for
2 seconds, the system features a rolling code
radio system. Flashing and continuous illumij
nation of the LED will repeat for approximately
20 seconds.
For systems with a rolling code radio system,
the integrated Universal Remote Control and the system also have to be synchronized.
Please read the owner's manual to find out
how to synchronize the system.
Synchronizing is easier with the aid of a secj
ond person.
Synchronizing the universal remote control with the system:1.Park the vehicle within range of the rejmote-controlled system.2.Program the relevant button on the interior
mirror as described.3.Locate and press the synchronizing button
on the system being programmed. You
have approx. 30 seconds for the next step.4.Hold down the programmed button on the
interior mirror for approximately 3 seconds
and then release it. If necessary, repeat this step up to three times in order to finish
synchronization. Once synchronization is
complete, the programmed function will be carried out.
Reprogrammingindividualbuttons
1.Switch on standby state.2.Press and hold the interior mirror button tobe programmed.3.As soon as the interior mirror LED starts
flashing slowly, hold the hand-held transj
mitter for the system to be controlled apj prox. 1 to 3 in/2.5 to 8 cm away from the
buttons of the interior mirror. The requiredSeite 224ControlsInteriorequipment224

distance depends on the hand-held transj
mitter.4.Likewise, press and hold the button of the
desired function on the hand-held transj mitter.5.Release both buttons as soon as the intej
rior mirror LED flashes more rapidly or lights up continuously. The LED flashing
more rapidly or being continuously lit up inj dicates that the button on the interior mirj
ror has been programmed. The system can
then be controlled by the button on the inj
terior mirror.
If the LED does not flash faster after at
most 60 seconds, change the distance and
repeat the programming starting with
step 4. Several more attempts at different
distances may be necessary. Wait at least 15 seconds between attempts.
Canada: if programming with the hand-
held transmitter was interrupted, hold
down the interior mirror button and repeatj
edly press and release the hand-held
transmitter button for 2 seconds.

Sockets
Concept
The lighter socket can be used as a socket for electrical equipment when standby and drive-ready state are switched on.
Generalinformation
The total load of all sockets must not exceed 140 watts at 12 volts.
Do not damage the socket by using non-comj patible connectors.
Safetyinformation WARNING
Devices and cables in the unfolding area
of the airbags, such as portable navigation dej
vices, can hinder the unfolding of the airbag or
be thrown around in the car's interior during
unfolding. There is a risk of injury. Make sure
that devices and cables are not in the airbag's
area of unfolding.'
