Programming Transmitters to the
Vehicle
Only RKE transmitters programmed to the vehicle will
work. If a transmitter is lost or stolen, a replacement
can be purchased and programmed through your
dealer/retailer. When the replacement transmitter is
programmed to the vehicle, all remaining transmitters
must also be programmed. Any lost or stolen transmitters
no longer work once the new transmitter is programmed.
Each vehicle can have up to eight transmitters
programmed to it. See “Relearn Remote Key”
underDIC Operation and Displays on page 3-51.
Battery Replacement
Replace the battery if the Replace Battery In Remote
Key message displays in the DIC. See “Replace Battery
In Remote Key” underDIC Warnings and Messages
on page 3-58for additional information.
Notice:When replacing the battery, do not touch
any of the circuitry on the transmitter. Static
from your body could damage the transmitter. To replace the battery:
1. Separate the transmitter with a at, thin object
inserted into the notch, located above the
metal base.
2. Remove the old battery. Do not use a metal object.
3. Insert the new battery, positive side facing up.
Replace with a CR2032 or equivalent battery.
4. Snap the transmitter back together.

Relearn Remote Key
If the vehicle has the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE)
system, this display allows you to match the transmitter
to the vehicle. If the vehicle has the keyless access
system, seeKeyless Access System Operation
on page 2-8for instructions on matching a keyless
access transmitter to the vehicle. To match an RKE
transmitter to the vehicle:
1. Press the vehicle information button until
Press
VTo Relearn Remote Key displays.
2. Press the set/reset button until Remote Key
Learning Active is displayed.
3. Press and hold the lock and unlock buttons on
the rst transmitter at the same time for about
15 seconds.
On vehicles with memory recall seats, the rst
transmitter learned will match driver 1 and
the second will match driver 2.
A chime sounds indicating that the transmitter
is matched.
4. To match additional transmitters at this time,
repeat Step 3.
Each vehicle can have a maximum of
eight transmitters matched to it.
5. To exit the programming mode, you must cycle
the key to LOCK/OFF.
Trans (Transmission) Temp (Temperature)
(CTS-V Only)
This display shows the transmission uid temperature in
either degrees Fahrenheit (°F) or degrees Celsius (°C).
Oil Pressure (CTS-V Only)
This display shows the oil pressure in either pounds per
square inch (psi) or kilopascals (kPa).
Coolant Temp (Temperature) (CTS-V Only)
This display shows the engine coolant temperature in
either degrees Fahrenheit (°F) or degrees Celsius (°C).
Lateral Acceleration (CTS-V Only)
Lateral acceleration is a measure of how hard you are
taking a corner. For example, when you are turning
right you will feel your body push to the left. This force
is measured in a ‘‘g’’. This gage will display from
0.0 g to 2.0 g.
Blank Display
This display shows no information.

the menu up/down button to scroll through the following
settings:
Off (default):No remote memory seat recall will occur.
On:The driver’s seat and outside mirrors will
automatically move to the stored driving position when
the unlock button on the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE)
or keyless access transmitter is pressed. The steering
column will also move on vehicles with the power tilt
and telescopic steering feature. SeePower Tilt Wheel
and Telescopic Steering Column on page 3-7for
more information. See “Relearn Remote Key” under
DIC Operation and Displays on page 3-51for more
information on matching transmitters to driver
ID numbers.
No Change:No change will be made to this feature.
The current setting will remain.
To select a setting, press the set/reset button while the
desired setting is displayed on the DIC.
Remote Start
If the vehicle has this feature, it allows you to turn the
remote start feature off or on. The remote start feature

transmitter. SeeRemote Vehicle Start on page 2-14for
more information.
Press the customization button until Remote Start
appears in the DIC display. Press the set/reset button
once to access the settings for this feature. Then press

The TPMS sensors can also be matched to each
tire/wheel position by increasing or decreasing the tire’s
air pressure. If increasing the tire’s air pressure, do
not exceed the maximum ination pressure indicated on
the tire’s sidewall. To decrease the tire’s air-pressure
use the pointed end of the valve cap, a pencil-style
air pressure gage, or a key.
You have two minutes to match the rst tire/
wheel position, and ve minutes overall, to match
all four tire/wheel positions. If it takes longer than
two minutes, to match the rst tire and wheel, or
more than ve minutes to match all four tire and wheel
positions, the matching process stops and you need
to start over.
The TPMS matching process is outlined below:
1. Set the parking brake.
2. Turn the ignition switch to ON/RUN with the
engine off.
3. Press the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter’s
lock and unlock buttons at the same time for
approximately ve seconds. The horn sounds twice
to signal the receiver is in relearn mode and Tire
Learning Active message displays on the DIC
screen.4. Start with the driver side front tire.
5. Remove the valve cap from the valve stem.
Activate the TPMS sensor by increasing or
decreasing the tire’s air pressure for 10 seconds, or
until a horn chirp sounds. The horn chirp, which
can take up to 30 seconds to sound, conrms that
the TPMS sensor identication code has been
matched to this tire position.
6. Proceed to the passenger side front tire, and repeat
the procedure in Step 5.
7. Proceed to the passenger side rear tire, and repeat
the procedure in Step 5.
8. Proceed to the driver side rear tire, and repeat the
procedure in Step 5.
9. After hearing the conrming horn chirp, for the
driver side rear tire, the horn sounds two more
times to signal the tire learning mode is no longer
active. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK/OFF.
10. Set all four tires to the recommended air pressure
level as indicated on the tire and loading information
label.
11. Put the valve caps back on the valve stems.
