Adding Coolant
If you need more coolant, add the proper DEX-COOL®
coolant mixture at the surge tank, but only when the
engine is cool.
{CAUTION:
You can be burned if you spill coolant on hot
engine parts. Coolant contains ethylene glycol,
and it will burn if the engine parts are hot
enough. Do not spill coolant on a hot engine.
When replacing the pressure cap, make sure it is
hand-tight and fully seated.
Coolant Surge Tank Pressure Cap
Notice:If the pressure cap is not tightly installed,
coolant loss and possible engine damage may
occur. Be sure the cap is properly and tightly
secured.
The coolant surge tank pressure cap must be fully
installed on the coolant surge tank. SeeEngine
Compartment Overview on page 5-12for more
information on location.
Engine Overheating
There are three engine hot messages that may be
displayed in the Driver Information Center (DIC). See
DIC Warnings and Messages on page 3-59for
more information.

When you end this high-speed driving, return the tires
to the cold ination pressure shown on the Tire and
Loading Information label. SeeLoading Your Vehicle
on page 4-44.
Example:
You will nd the maximum load and ination pressure
molded on the tire’s sidewall, in small letters, near
the rim ange. It will read something like this: Maximum
load 690 kg (1521 lbs) 300 kPa (44 psi) Max. Press.
For this example, you would set the ination pressure for
high-speed driving at 38 psi (265 kPa).
Tire Pressure Monitor System
The Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS) uses radio
and sensor technology to check tire pressure levels.
If your vehicle has this feature, sensors are mounted on
each tire and wheel assembly, except for the compact
spare tire and wheel. Tire pressure readings are sent to
a receiver located in the vehicle once every 60 seconds
while the vehicle is being driven, and once every
60 minutes if the vehicle is stationary for more than
15 minutes.
Using the Driver Information Center (DIC), tire pressure
levels can be viewed by the driver. For additional
information and details about the DIC operation and
displays seeSystem Controls on page 3-50and
DIC Warnings and Messages on page 3-59.When a low tire pressure condition is detected, the
TPM system will display the CHECK TIRE PRESSURE
warning message on the DIC and, at the same time,
illuminate the low tire pressure warning symbol, on the
instrument panel cluster.
Each tire, including the spare (if provided), should be
checked monthly when cold and inated to the ination
pressure recommended by the vehicle manufacturer
on the vehicle placard or tire ination pressure label.
(If your vehicle has tires of a different size than the size
indicated on the vehicle placard or tire ination
pressure label, you should determine the proper tire
ination pressure for those tires.)
As an added safety
feature, your vehicle has
been equipped with a
tire pressure monitoring
system (TPMS) that
illuminates a low tire
pressure telltale when
one or more of your tires is
signicantly under-inated.

6. Remove the valve cap from the valve stem.
Activate the TPM sensor by increasing or
decreasing the tire’s air pressure for ve seconds,
or until a horn chirp sounds. The horn chirp,
which may take up to 30 seconds, conrms that the
sensor identication code has been matched to
this tire position. To decrease the tire’s air-pressure
use the pointed end of the valve cap, a pencil-style
air pressure gage, or a key.
7. Proceed to the passenger’s side front tire, and
repeat the procedure in Step 6.
8. Proceed to the passenger’s side rear tire, and
repeat the procedure in Step 6.
9. Proceed to the driver’s side rear tire, and repeat the
procedure in Step 6.
10. After hearing the conrming double horn chirp, for
the left rear tire, exit the matching process by
turning the ignition switch to OFF.
11. Set all four tires to the recommended air pressure
level as indicated on the tire and loading information
label.
12. Put the valve caps back on the valve stems.
The spare tire does not have a TPMS sensor. If you
replace one of the road tires with the spare, the SERVICE
TIRE MONITOR message will be displayed on the
DIC screen. This message should go off once you
re-install the road tire containing the TPMS sensor.The SERVICE TIRE MONITOR message is also
displayed when the TPMS is malfunctioning. One or more
missing or inoperable TPMS sensors will cause the
SERVICE TIRE MONITOR message to be displayed.
