Detection of fastening of the driver's seat belt
When the ignition is switched on, the seat belt warning lightcomes on accompanied by an audible signal if the driver has not fastened his seat belt.
The warning light switches off when the seat belt is fastened.

Cruise control
This maintains a constant vehicle speed programmed by the driver.
1. "ON/OFF" button: activation/deacti-vation of the cruise control mode.
2. "COAST SET" button: storing of a driving speed then decreasing of the cruising speed.
3. "ACC RES" button: increasing of the cruising speed and recalling of the stored speed.
4. "CANCEL" button: switching off of the cruise control.
In order to be programmed or activated, the vehicle speed must be higher than 25 mph (40 km/h) with at least second gear engaged.
This detects any obstacle (person, ve-hicle, tree, gate, ...) located behind the vehicle.
The vehicle is fi tted with four sensors:

INSTRUMENT PANEL INDICATOR LIGHTS

Left-hand direction
indicator Flashing
with
buzzer This fl ashes when you
press the lights stalk
down. If this indicator light fl ashes abnormally quickly,
this could indicate that the electric bulb of one
of the direction indicators has blown. Change
the bulb or contact a CITROËN dealer.
Right-hand direction
indicator Flashing
with
buzzer This fl ashes when you
push the lights stalk up. If this indicator light fl ashes abnormally quickly,
this could indicate that the electric bulb of one
of the direction indicators has blown. Change
the bulb or contact a CITROËN dealer.
Main beam headlamps Fixed This comes on when
you pull the lights stalk
towards you. Pull the stalk to return to dipped headlamps.
Side lights Fixed This comes on when
the lights stalk is in the
"Side lights" or "Dipped
headlamps" position. Turn the stalk to the position required.
Front fog lamps Fixed This comes on when you
use the front fog lamps. Turn the ring on the stalk forwards to switch on
the fog lamps.
Rear fog lamps Fixed This comes on when you
use the rear fog lamps. Turn the ring on the stalk forwards to switch on
the fog lamps.
Cruise control Fixed This comes on when the
mode is active. Press the "ON/OFF" button to activate/
deactivate the mode.

Diesel
preheating Fixed This comes on when the
ignition switch is in the
ON position. Wait until this switches off before starting.
The duration for which this is lit is determined
by the exterior climatic conditions.
Handbrake/ Brake fl uid level Fixed This comes on for a few
seconds when the ignition
is turned to "ON" then
switches off.
It is accompanied by a message on the
instrument panel display.
The handbrake is applied
or has not been released
fully. It is accompanied by a message on the
instrument panel display. Release the
handbrake to switch off the warning light.
The brake fl uid level is
too low. t is accompanied by a message on the
instrument panel display. Top up with brake fl uid
and contact a CITROËN dealer.
Emission
control system Fixed or
fl ashing This comes on or fl ashes
if the system fails. Consult a CITROËN dealer.
It should switch off a few seconds after starting
the engine.
Battery charge Fixed This comes on if a
charging circuit fault
occurs. It should switch off when the engine is started.
It is accompanied by a message on the
instrument panel display. Check the battery
terminals (refer to the "Battery" section).

Driver's
seat belt not fastened Fixed The driver has not
fastened or has
unfastened his seat belt. This is accompanied by a message on the
instrument panel display.
Fasten the driver's seat belt.
ABS Fixed This comes on if an
anti-lock braking system
failure occurs. It is accompanied by a message on the
instrument panel display. The vehicle retains
conventional braking without assistance but
you are advised to stop. Have it checked by a
CITROËN dealer.
Air bags and
pretensioners Fixed This comes on for a few
seconds when the ignition
is turned to "ON" then
switches off.
It should switch off when the engine is started.
If it does not switch off, contact a CITROËN
dealer.
This comes on if an air
bag or pretensioner
failure occurs. It is accompanied by a message on the
instrument panel display. Have the system
checked by a CITROËN dealer without delay.
Dynamic
stability control system (ASC) Fixed This comes on if the
dynamic stability control
system fails. It is accompanied by a message on the
instrument panel screen. Have the system
checked by a CITROËN dealer without delay.
Directional lighting off
(AFS OFF) Fixed
This comes on when the
mode is not active. Press the "AFS OFF" button to activate/
deactivate the mode.
Flashing This fl ashes if the
systems fails. Consult a CITROËN dealer.
