Deactivating the rear window and
door switches
For the safety of your children, press
switch 5 to prevent operation of the
rear windows irrespective of their
position.
With the lamp on, the rear controls are
deactivated.
With the lamp off, the rear controls are
activated.
This control also deactivates the
interior rear door controls (see
"Child safety - § Electric child
lock"). Reinitialisation
In the event of a malfunction you have
to reinitialise the operation of the elec-
tric windows:
release the switch and pull it again
until the window closes completely,
h o l d t h e s w i t c h f o r a p p r o x i m a t e l y
one second after closing,
press the switch to lower the window
automatically.
The safety anti-pinch function is not
active during these operations. Always remove the key from the
ignition when leaving the vehicle,
even for a short time.
In the event of contact during
operation of the windows, re-
verse the movement of the win-
dow. To do this, press the switch
concerned.
When the driver operates the
passenger electric window
switches, they should ensure
that no one is preventing correct
closing of the windows.
The driver should ensure that
passengers use the electric win-
dows correctly.
Be aware of children when oper-
ating the windows.

DOORS
Opening
From outside
After unlocking the vehicle using the
remote control or the key, pull the
door handle. From inside
Pull the front door control to open
the door; this unlocks the vehicle
completely.
Pull the rear door control to open
the door; this unlocks only the door
opened. Closing
When a door is not closed correctly:
-
when the engine is running ,
this warning lamp comes on,
accompanied by a message in
the multifunction screen for a
few seconds,
- when the vehicle is moving (speed
higher than 6 mph (10 km/h)), this
warning lamp comes on, accom-
panied by an audible signal and a
message in the multifunction screen
for a few seconds.
Version with
deadlocking
The interior door controls do
not operate when the vehicle is
deadlocked.

Manual centralised control
System which provides full manual
locking or unlocking of the doors from
the inside.
Locking
Press button A to lock the vehicle.
The red indicator lamp on the button
comes on.
If one of the doors is open, cen-
tral locking from the inside does
not take place.
Unlocking
Press button A again to unlock the
vehicle.
The red indicator lamp on the button
switches off. If the vehicle is locked from the
outside, the red indicator lamp
fl a s h e s a n d b u t t o n
A is inactive.
In this case, use the remote
control or the key to unlock
the vehicle.
Automatic centralised control
System which provides full automatic
locking or unlocking of the doors and
the boot while driving.
You can activate or deactivate this func-
tion.
Locking
W h e n t h e s p e e d e x c e e d s 6 m p h
(10 km/h), the doors and the boot lock
automatically. If one of the doors is open, the
automatic central locking does
not take place.
If the boot is open, the automatic
central locking of the doors is
active.
Unlocking
Above 6 mph (10 km/h), press but-
ton A to unlock the doors and the
boot temporarily. Activation
Press button A for more than
two seconds.

To lock or unlock the doors manually in
the event of a malfunction of the central
locking system or failure of the battery.
Locking the driver’s door
Insert the key in the lock, then turn it
to the left.
Unlocking the driver’s door
Insert the key in the lock, then turn it
to the right.
Locking the front and rear
passenger doors
Remove the black cap, located on
the edge of the door, using the key.
Insert the key in the recess, then
turn it as far as it will go.

On the rear doors, check that the
child lock is not activated. Unlocking the front and rear
passenger doors
Pull the interior door opening con-

BOOT
Opening

gain access to the lock from inside
the boot.
Insert a small screwdriver into hole A
of the lock to unlock the tailgate.
If the tailgate is not closed correctly:

The key cannot be removed from
t h e l o c k u n t i l t h e c a p i s r e fi t t e d .
O p e n i n g t h e fi l l e r c a p m a y c r e -
ate a noise caused by an inrush
of air. This vacuum is entirely
normal, resulting from the seal-
ing of the fuel system.
FUEL TANK
Fuel tank capacity: approximately
50 litres (petrol) or 48 litres (Diesel).
Low fuel level
When the fuel tank minimum
level is reached this warning
lamp comes on on the instru-
m e n t p a n e l . W h e n i t fi r s t c o m e s
on there remains approximately 5 litres
of fuel in the tank.
You must refuel as soon as possible to
avoid running out of fuel.
If you run out of fuel (Diesel), refer also
to the "Checks" section.
Filling
A l a b e l a f fi x e d t o t h e i n s i d e o f t h e fl a p
reminds you of the type of fuel to be
used depending on your engine.
Additions of fuel must be of at least
5 litres, in order to be taken into account
by the fuel gauge. T o fi l l t h e t a n k s a f e l y :
the engine must be switched off,
o p e n t h e f u e l fi l l e r fl a p ,
insert the key in the cap, then turn it
to the left,
remove the cap and hook it onto
the clip located on the inside of the
fl a p ,
fi l l t h e t a n k , but do not continue
after the 3rd cut-off of the pump ;
this could cause malfunctions.
W h e n y o u h a v e fi l l e d t h e t a n k :
put the cap back in place,
turn the key to the right, then remove
it from the cap,
c l o s e t h e fl a p .
With Stop & Start, never refuel
with the system in STOP mode;
you must switch off the ignition
with the key.

Quality of the fuel used for
petrol engines
The petrol engines are perfectly com-
patible with E10 type petrol biofuels
(containing 10 % ethanol), conforming
to European standards EN 228 and
EN 15376.
E85 type fuels (containing up to 85 %
e t h a n o l ) a r e r e s e r v e d e x c l u s i v e l y f o r
vehicles marketed for the use of this type
o f f u e l ( B i o F l e x v e h i c l e s ) . T h e q u a l i t y o f
the ethanol must comply with European
standard EN 15293.
For Brazil only, special vehicles are
marketed to run on fuels containing up
to 100 % ethanol (E100 type). Quality of the fuel used for
Diesel engines
The Diesel engines are perfectly com-
patible with biofuels which conform to
current and future European standards
(Diesel fuel which complies with stan-
d a r d E N 5 9 0 m i x e d w i t h a b i o f u e l w h i c h
complies with standard EN 14214)
available at the pumps (containing up
to 7 % Fatty Acid Methyl Ester).
The B30 biofuel can be used in
certain Diesel engines; however, this
use is subject to strict application of the
special servicing conditions. Contact a
C I T R O Ë N d e a l e r o r a q u a l i fi e d w o r k -
shop.
The use of any other type of (bio)fuel
(vegetable or animal oils, pure or dilut-
ed, domestic fuel...) is strictly prohibited
(risk of damage to the engine and fuel
system).
M e c h a n i c a l d e v i c e w h i c h p r e v e n t s fi l l i n g
the tank of a Diesel vehicle with petrol. It
avoids the risk of engine damage that can
r e s u l t f r o m fi l l i n g w i t h t h e w r o n g f u e l .

the reservoir.
I n o r d e r t o e n s u r e a g o o d fl o w o f f u e l ,
do not place the nozzle of the fuel can in
d i r e c t c o n t a c t w i t h t h e fl a p o f t h e m i s f u e l
prevention device.

VISIBILITY
LIGHTING CONTROLS
System for selection and control of the
various front and rear lamps providing
the vehicle's lighting.
Main lighting
The various front and rear lamps of
the vehicle are designed to adapt the
driver's visibility progressively accord-
ing to climatic conditions:
- sidelamps, to be seen,
- dipped beam headlamps to see without dazzling other drivers,
- main beam headlamps to see clearly when the road is clear.
Additional lighting
O t h e r l a m p s a r e i n s t a l l e d t o f u l fi l t h e
requirements of particular conditions of
visibility:
- a rear foglamp to be seen from afar,
- front foglamps for even better forward vision.
Programming
Various automatic lighting control modes
are also available according to the fol-
lowing options:
- guide-me-home lighting,
- automatic illumination of headlamps. Model without AUTO lighting
Model with AUTO lighting
Lamps off.
Automatic illumination of
headlamps.
Sidelamps only.
Dipped or main beam
headlamps.
B. Stalk for switching the headlamp
beam: pull the stalk to switch between
dipped and main beam headlamps.
In the lamps off and sidelamps modes,
the driver can switch on the main beam
headlamps temporarily ("headlamp
fl a s h " ) b y m a i n t a i n i n g a p u l l o n t h e s t a l k .
Displays
Lighting of the corresponding indicator
l a m p o n t h e i n s t r u m e n t p a n e l c o n fi r m s t h e
switching on of the lighting selected.
Depending on version, the instrument
panel may have permanent back-light-
ing. Illumination of the instrument panel is
therefore not linked to the exterior lighting.
Manual controls
The lighting commands are issued
directly by the driver by means of the
ring
A and the stalk B .
A. Main lighting mode selection ring:
turn it to position the symbol re-
quired facing the mark.

C. Foglamp selection ring.
The foglamps operate with the dipped
and main beam headlamps.
Rear foglamp
Rotate and release the ring C :
f o r w a r d s a fi r s t t i m e t o s w i t c h o n t h e
front foglamps,
forwards a second time to switch on
the rear foglamp,
r e a r w a r d s a fi r s t t i m e t o s w i t c h o f f
the rear foglamp,
rearwards a second time to switch
of the front fog lamps.
Model with rear foglamp only
To switch on the foglamp, turn the
ring C forwards.
When the lighting is switched off auto-
m a t i c a l l y ( w i t h A U T O m o d e l ) , t h e f o g l a m p
and the dipped beam headlamps will
remain on.
To switch off all of the lighting, turn
the ring C rearwards.
Model with front foglamps and a rear foglamp Front and rear foglamps In good or rainy weather, by both
day and night, the front foglamps
and the rear foglamp are pro-
hibited. In these situations, the
power of their beams may dazzle
other drivers.
Do not forget to switch off the front foglamps and the rear foglamp
when they are no longer neces-
sary.
Lighting on audible warning
When the ignition is switched
off, all of the lamps switch off
automatically, unless guide-me-
home lighting is activated.
If the lighting is switched on manu-
ally after switching off the ignition,
there is an audible signal when a
front door is opened to warn the
driver that they have forgotten to
switch off the vehicle's lighting,
with the ignition off.
When the lighting is switched off auto-
m a t i c a l l y ( w i t h A U T O m o d e l ) o r w h e n
the dipped headlamps are switched off
manually, the foglamps and sidelamps
will remain on.
Turn the ring rearwards to switch
off the foglamps, the sidelamps will
then switch off.
