Electronic engine immobiliser
The key contains an electronic chip
which has a special code. When the
ignition is switched on, this code must
be recognised in order for starting to be
possible. In the event of a malfunc-
tion, you are informed by
lighting of this warning lamp,
an audible signal and a message on the
multifunction screen.
In this case, your vehicle does not start;
contact a CITROËN dealer as soon as
possible.
Locating your vehicle
Press the closed pad-
lock to locate your locked
vehicle in a car park.
This is indicated by lighting of the cour-
t e s y l a m p s a n d fl a s h i n g o f t h e d i r e c t i o n
indicators for a few seconds. Ignition switch
- Position 1:
Stop
- Position 2: Ignition
- Position 3: Starting
This electronic engine immobiliser locks
the engine management system a few
minutes after the ignition is switched off
and prevents starting of the engine by
anyone who does not have the key.

ACCESS Remote control problem
Following disconnection of the vehicle
battery, replacement of the remote con-
trol battery or in the event of a remote
control malfunction, you can no longer
unlock, lock or locate your vehicle.
First of all, use the key in the lock to
unlock or lock your vehicle.
Then, reinitialise the remote control.
If the problem persists, contact a
CITROËN dealer as soon as possible.
Reinitialisation
Switch off the ignition.
Turn the key to position 2 (Ignition
on) .
Press the closed padlock immedi-
ately for a few seconds.
Switch off the ignition and remove
the key from the ignition switch.
The remote control is fully operational
again. Changing the battery
Battery ref.: CR1620/3 volts.
I f t h e b a t t e r y i s fl a t , y o u a r e
informed by illumination of
this warning lamp, an audi-
ble signal and a message in the multi-
function screen.
Unclip the casing using a coin at the
notch.
S l i d e t h e fl a t b a t t e r y o u t o f i t s l o c a t i o n .
Slide the new battery into its loca-
tion observing the original direction.
Clip the casing.
Reinitialise the remote control.
Starting the vehicle
Insert the key in the ignition switch.
The system recognises the starting code.
Turn the key fully towards the dash-
board to position 3 (Starting) .
When the engine starts, release
the key.
Switching the vehicle off
Immobilise the vehicle.
Turn the key fully towards you to
position 1 (Stop) .
Remove the key from the ignition
switch.
Do not attach any heavy objects
to the key as this could weigh
down on it when in the ignition
switch and cause a fault.
Key reminder
If the key is left in the igni-
tion switch, an audible signal
sounds when the driver's door is
opened.

Lost keys
Visit a CITROËN dealer with the vehicle's V5 registration do cument and
y o u r p e r s o n a l i d e n t i fi c a t i o n d o c u m e n t s .
The CITROËN dealer will be able to retrieve the key code a nd the
transponder code required to order a replacement key. Do not throw the remote con-
trol batteries away, they contain
metals which are harmful to the
environment.
Take them to an approved col-
lection point.
Remote control
The high frequency remote control is a sensitive system; do not o perate
it while it is in your pocket as there is a possibility that i t may unlock the
vehicle, without you being aware of it.
Do not repeatedly press the buttons of your remote control out of range and
out of sight of your vehicle. You run the risk of stopping it from working and
the remote control would have to be reinitialised.
The remote control does not operate when the key is in the ignition, even
w h e n t h e i g n i t i o n i s s w i t c h e d o f f , e x c e p t f o r r e i n i t i a l i s a t i o n .
Locking the vehicle
Driving with the doors locked may make access to t he passenger compart-
m e n t b y t h e e m e r g e n c y s e r v i c e s m o r e d i f fi c u l t i n a n e m e r g e n c y .
As a safety precaution (with children on board), remove the key fro m the
ignition when you leave the vehicle, even for a short time.

ALARM
System which protects and provides a
deterrent against the theft of your vehi-
cle. It provides two types of protection,
e x t e r i o r a n d i n t e r i o r , a s w e l l a s a s e l f -
protection function.
Exterior perimeter protection
The system detects opening of the ve-
hicle.
The alarm is triggered if anyone tries to
enter the vehicle by forcing a door, the
boot or the bonnet.
Interior volumetric protection
The system detects any variation in the
volume in the passenger compartment.
The alarm is triggered if anyone breaks
a window or moves inside the vehicle.
If you wish to leave a pet in the vehicle
or a window partially open, deactivate
the interior volumetric protection.
Self-protection function
The system detects the putting out of
service of its components.
The alarm is triggered if anyone tries
to put the wires of the siren, the central
control or the battery out of service. D o n o t m a k e a n y m o d i fi c a t i o n s
to the alarm system, this could
cause malfunctions. Locking the vehicle with full
alarm
Activation
Switch off the ignition and get out of
the vehicle.
Lock or deadlock the vehicle using
the locking button on the remote
control.
The alarm is activated; the indicator lamp
in button A fl a s h e s o n c e p e r s e c o n d .
T h e e x t e r i o r p e r i m e t e r p r o t e c t i o n i s a c t i -
vated, 5 seconds after the locking button
on the remote control is pressed.
The interior volumetric protection is acti-
vated, 45 seconds after the locking button
on the remote control is pressed.
Deactivation
Unlock the vehicle using the unlock-
ing button on the remote control.
The alarm is deactivated; the indicator
lamp in button A goes off.
If an opening - door or boot -
is not closed fully, the vehicle
i s n o t l o c k e d , b u t t h e e x t e r i o r
perimeter protection will be ac-
tivated after 45 seconds at the
same time as the interior volu-
metric protection.

Locking the vehicle with exterior
perimeter protection only
Deactivation of the interior
volumetric protection
Switch off the ignition.
Within ten seconds, press button A
until the indicator lamp is on continu-
ously.
Get out of the vehicle.
Lock or deadlock the vehicle without
delay using the locking button on
the remote control.
T h e e x t e r i o r p e r i m e t e r p r o t e c t i o n a l o n e
remains activated; the indicator lamp in
button A fl a s h e s o n c e p e r s e c o n d .
To be effective, this deactiva-
tion must be carried out each
time the ignition is switched off.
Reactivation of the interior
volumetric protection
Unlock the vehicle using the unlock-
ing button on the remote control.
Relock the vehicle using the remote
control.
The alarm is activated again with both
types of protection; the indicator lamp in
button A fl a s h e s o n c e p e r s e c o n d . Triggering of the alarm
This is indicated by sounding of the si-
r e n a n d fl a s h i n g o f t h e d i r e c t i o n i n d i c a -
t o r s f o r a p p r o x i m a t e l y t h i r t y s e c o n d s .
After it has been triggered, both types of
protection are again operational.
Failure of the remote control
Unlock the vehicle using the key in
the driver’s door lock.
Open the door; the alarm is trig-
gered.
Switch on the ignition; the alarm
stops.
If the alarm is triggered ten times
in succession, the eleventh time
will result in it becoming inactive.
If the indicator lamp in button A
fl a s h e s r a p i d l y , t h i s i n d i c a t e s
that the alarm was triggered
during your absence. When
the ignition is switched on, this
fl a s h i n g s t o p s i m m e d i a t e l y .
To avoid triggering the alarm
when washing your vehicle, lock
it using the key in the driver’s
door lock.
Locking the vehicle without
activating the alarm
Lock or deadlock the vehicle using
the key in the driver’s door lock.
Malfunction
When the ignition is switched on, illumi-
nation of the indicator lamp in button A
for ten seconds indicates malfunction
with the siren.
Have it checked by a CITROËN dealer
o r a q u a l i fi e d w o r k s h o p .

Automatic activation *
2 minutes after the last door or the boot
is closed, the alarm is activated auto-
matically.
To avoid triggering the alarm on
e n t e r i n g t h e v e h i c l e , fi r s t p r e s s t h e
unlocking button on the remote
control.

WINDOW CONTROLS
System which opens or closes a window
m a n u a l l y o r a u t o m a t i c a l l y . I t i s fi t t e d w i t h
a system which provides protection if an
obstacle is detected on the one-touch
models and a deactivation system to
prevent misuse of the rear switches on
all models.
1. Driver's electric window switch.

Passenger's electric window switch.
3. Rear right electric window switch.
4. Rear left electric window switch.

Press or pull the switch.
The window stops as soon
as the switch is released.
The electric window switches

tion is switched off or until a front
door is opened.
One-touch electric windows There are two methods
of operation:
- manual mode
Press or pull the switch gently.
The window stops as soon as the
switch is released.
- automatic mode
Press or pull the switch fully.
The window opens or closes
completely when the switch is
released.
Pressing the switch again stops
the movement of the window. The electric window switches
r e m a i n o p e r a t i o n a l f o r a p p r o x i -
mately 45 seconds after the igni-
tion is switched off or until a front
door is opened.
Safety anti-pinch
The one-touch front electric windows are
fi t t e d w i t h a s a f e t y a n t i - p i n c h f u n c t i o n .
When the window rises and meets an
obstacle, it stops and partially lowers
again.
In the event of unwanted opening
o f t h e w i n d o w o n c l o s i n g ( f o r e x -
ample in the presence of frost):
press the switch until it opens
completely,
then pull it immediately until
it closes,
continue to hold the switch
f o r a p p r o x i m a t e l y o n e s e c o n d
after the window has closed.
The safety anti-pinch func-
tion is not active during these
operations.
