Rear screen demist - defrost


Switching on

The rear screen demisting/defrosting can onlyoperate when the engine is running.)Press this button to demist/defrost the rear screen and (depending on version) the door mirrors. The indicator lamp associated with
the button comes on.

Switching off
The demisting/defrosting switches off automatically to prevent an excessive
consumption of current.)
It is possible to stop the demisting/
defrosting operation before it is switched
off automatically by pressing the button
again. The indicator lamp associated with
the button switches off. The control button is located on the heatin
g or air conditioning system control panel.
) Switch off the demisting/defrostingof the rear screen and door mirrorsas soon as appropriate as lower current consumption results inreduced fuel consumption.
With Stop & Star t, when demisting has been activated, the STOP mode is notavailable.

If the engine is switched off before thedemisting/defrosting is switched off automatically, demisting/defrosting will resume next time the engine is switched on.

Scented air freshener System permitting the diffusion of a fragrance in the passenger compar tment in accordance with your requirements, by means of the adjustment dial and the various fragrance car tridges available.

Fragrance cartridge


Removing the cartridge
)Press the dial and turn it a quarter of a turnanti-clockwise. )Remove the cartridge.
)Refit its sealing case.
Fitting the cartridge

Remove the cartridge from the sealingcase.)
Install the car tridge (flower at top left). )
Press the dial and turn it a quar ter of a turnclockwise.

As a safety precaution, do not carry out any action on the car tridge whiledriving. Do not dismantle the car tridges.Do not attempt to refill the fragrancediffuser or the cartridges.
Avoid all contact with the skin and eyes.Keep out of reach of children and
animals.
Do not discard the original cartridge as this ser ves as a plug when no fragrance cartridge is in use. In order to preser ve the ser vice life of the cartridge, turn the dial fully to the leftwhen you no longer wish to diffuse the fragrance in the passenger compartment.

The intensity of diffusion of the fragrance may depend on the ventilationor air conditioning settings.
Adjustment dial
This car tridge can be removed easily. Thefirst time it is used, replace the plug with a real cartridge.
You can change it at any time and store it in the
sealed case which keeps it closed once it has
been opened.
You can obtain different fragrance car tridges
from a CITROËN dealer or a qualified
wor
kshop.

The head restraint is fitted with a framewith notches which prevents it fromlowering; this is a safety device in caseof impact. The adjustment is correct when theupper edge of the head restraint is level with the top of the head.Never drive with the head restraintsremoved; they must be in place andadjusted correctly.

Rear seats
Bench seat with fixed one-piece cushion and split backrest (right hand 2/3, left hand 1/3) to adjust the load space in the boot.

They can also be removed. To remove a head restraint: )release the backrest using control 1,)tilt the backrest 2
slightly forwards, )pull the head restraint upwards to the stop, )then, press the lug A

Move the corresponding front seat for ward if necessary.)
Check that the seat belt is positioned correctly on the side of the seat backrest. )
Place the head restraints in the low position.


With passengers in the rear seats,
never drive with the head restraints removed; they must be in place and correctly adjusted. These have one position for use
(up) and a stowed position (down).

Repositioning the seat backrest


When repositioning the seat backrest,take care not to trap the seat belts.

Each fitted with an adjustable mirror glasspermitting the lateral rearward vision necessary for overtaking or parking. They can also befolded for parking in confined spaces.

If your vehicle is fitted with heated mirrors, the
demisting-defrosting operates with the engine running, by switching on the heated rear screen (refer to the "Rear screen demist-defrost"page).
Door mirrors
The objects obser ved are, in reality, closer than they appear.Take this into account in order to correctly judge the distance of vehicles
approaching from behind.


If the mirrors are folded using control A ,they will not unfold when the vehicle is unlocked. Pull again on control A.

The folding and unfolding of the door mirrors using the remote control can bedeactivated by a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
Never fold or unfold the electric foldingmirrors manually.

between the day and night uses.

As a safety measure, the mirrors should be adjusted to reduce the "blind spot".

In order to ensure optimum visibility during your manoeuvres, the mirror lightens automatically when reverse gear is engaged.


As a safety precaution, these
operations should only be carried out while the vehicle is stationary.

Remote control key System which permits central unlocking or locking of the vehicle using the lock or from a distance. It is also used to locate and start the vehicle, as well as providing protection against theft.

Folding the key

Anti-theft protection
Electronic engine immobiliser
The key contains an electronic chip which has a special code. When the ignition is switched
on, this code must be recognised in order for
startin
g to be possible.
This electronic engine immobiliser locks the
engine management system a few minutes after the ignition is switched off and prevents
starting of the engine by anyone who does not have the key.
In the event o
f a fault, you are
informed by illumination of this
warning lamp, an audible signal anda message in the screen.

Starting the vehicle

Inser t the key in the ignition switch.
The system recognises the star ting code.) Turn the key fully towards the dashboard toposition 3 (Starting).)
When the engine star ts, release the key.

Locating your vehicle

Press the closed padlock to locate your locked vehicle in acar park.
This is indicated b
y lighting of the cour tesylamps and flashing of the direction indicators for a few seconds. In this case,
your vehicle will not start; contact a CITROËN dealer as soon as possible.
Keep safely the label attached to the keys given
to you on acquisition of the vehicle.

Switching the vehicle off


Key reminder

If the key is left in the ignition switch, an audible signal sounds when the driver's door is opened.

Do not attach any heavy objects to the key as this could weigh down on it when in the ignition switch and cause a fault. Followin
g disconnection of the vehicle battery,replacement of the remote control battery or
in the event of a remote control malfunction,you can no longer unlock, lock or locate your
v
ehicle. ) First of all, use the key in the lock to unlock or lock your vehicle.)
Then, reinitialise the remote control.
